Once again, since you have no respect for native people & native culture, a dreamcatcher isn’t a whimsical gift, it’s part of the Ojibwe culture and in our culture, they have a purpose.
It’s just really sad that someone with such an audience can’t learn a little cultural sensitivity.
fantastic! Elsie, you have just saved me from some last minute gift buying madness. These tutorials are going to be put to good use immediately.
Thank you!
Love it! And just finished making the little fox for my nieces’ birthday!
These are all great projects! I especially love the glittery banner!

Thank you for all the kind words!
Ashley, I feature aesthetics inspired by many different cultures around the world. I don’t know why it would automatically be assumed that this project is disrespectful. I think that it’s beautiful and that’s why I featured it. As with all cultures, I have nothing but admiration for Native Americans.
I love that glitter christmas lyric idea. i posted about it last week too!

Cultural appropriation is so freaking whimsical, you guys!!!!
Since you think it’s fine and you have “nothing but admiration,” please admire this blog: http://mycultureisnotatrend.tumblr.com/ and perhaps start to understand why it is disrespectful.
Totally perfect.
I’m all over the instagram prints.
The fox would be adorable as just a toy, too. 🙂
My favorite has to be the cat quilt. So cute!
There’s nothing quite like a DIY project 🙂 Just attended a handmade craft fair last week and got me so inspired to get my hands dirty and do a few DIY jobs myself 🙂

“someone has been posting things for little ones quite a bit lately…..I feel an announcement in the future…”
Hi! Definitely no announcement coming up. Just a coincidence. XO! Elsie
I am glad Maus understands. Cultural appropriation isn’t cute.
I have been a long time reader of your blog, because I like your style. But it has always bothered me how you treat Native people. Especially your whole “Princess Tiger Lily” period. My dad doesn’t look like Chief Red Man at all, oddly enough.
So awesome! I love these ideas! Thanks for the list Elsie 🙂
Goo! I’m always a sucker for foxes – I own two fox dogs! Cutah. Loaf it!
