Happy Sunday, friends! Are you as sad as I am that Halloween is over? Thank goodness for Thanksgiving and Christmas or else I would really be feeling blue. Ha.
1. Finally started watching the new Dark Crystal and I LOVE IT. Not sure why it took me so long to start it. I love the original, although I must admit it’s probably one of my least favorite Jim Henson productions. But why would you even put it up against things like The Great Muppet Caper? At any rate, it’s really pretty and if you’re into fantasy at all I would highly recommend checking it out.
2. Finished reading this book a few weeks ago and I’m still thinking about it. SO unique. A little hard to read in that it will probably make you mad (it did me), but once you find out what it’s about I doubt that will surprise you.
3. Recently bought a pair of Gola sneakers. They were on sale, so the ones I got aren’t on the site anymore, but I love cute, casual tennis shoes.
4. I’m the kind of gal that switches to a purse and then uses that one exclusively for a few months before switching to another. Do you do this? I cannot imagine switching for every outfit, just the thought makes me sweat a little. Anyway, this purse isn’t new to me, but I recently rotated back to it and remember how much I love it. Perfect size and shape to me.
5. Have you tried Smart Sweets? Elsie told me about them. I’ve tried most flavors and by far my favorite are the peach rings.
6. Hoping to find time this month to re-photograph this recipe from our archives. It’s one of my favorite Thanksgiving recipes, but the photos are from 2012 and I think they could use a refresh. We’ll see if I find the time. Extra motivated though because then I get to eat it just for fun. 🙂
7. Thinking about becoming a headband gal. Should I? With no bangs and very fine (thin) hair I’m not sure it will look good. But I see so many cute ones like these that it makes me want to try.
8. The photo above is from our last vacation, to Iceland. I had about 56 photos from that trip that I wanted to put into a standalone photo album. But I feel like I looked everywhere online and couldn’t find a cute photo album that holds just 55-60 photos (4×6) or so. Please let me know if you know of any! I was shocked this wasn’t easier to find. Am I the only one still printing photos for albums? Surely not!
9. Still obsessed with this chandelier in our dining room. I look at it everyday when I’m at my home office desk (I’m looking at it right now). It was pretty challenging to hang but I love it!
10. Recently wore a dress very similar to this one to a wedding a few weeks ago. The exact one I bought is no longer available as I bought it over a year ago. I really love the look of the “Dalmatian” polka dot print. Will for sure be looking for more items in this pattern, as it’s so cute.
Hope your weekend is a relaxing or catch-up-on-stuff friendly. Whatever you are needing this weekend I hope you get it, friend. xo. Emma

I dunno about a photo album, but I really like Social Print Studio’s wooden box to keep photos in. I like the idea of using one for each year, so you can print in batches and add as you go along. Maybe not quite what you’re looking for since this is an encapsulated trip, but wanted to put it out there anyway:

Hi there! Thanks so much to the person who commented above for recommending our wooden boxes. http://stagingwww.socialprintstudio.com/the-shop/wood-box.html We’d love to send you a Social Print Studio box if you’d like one! Just let me know. 🙂

hi emma! fun links.
so this is old news probably but i use chatbooks. it’s an app and the app directly links to facebook, instagram or photos from
your phone. the book only holds 60 photos. it used to only be available in soft books but recently they added a hard cover version. it’s not the best quality but my kids love looking through them. hope that helps
I am definitely curious about the new Dark Crystal show! I remember the movie from when I was a child and that movie, well the Skeksies, scared the heck out of me. Also, I will be checking out that book — it sounds like an intriguing read!
I’m the absolute same way about purses! I use one for a few months at a time and abandon it for a new one…I’m too forgetful to be able to switch bags, I prefer knowing I have all my essentials on me because they’re in the same bag I use every day!
Also, what do you think of the sneakers? I’m on the lookout for new cute sneakers to wear to my pickup soccer scrimmages and these look cute and comfortable – might pick some up!
I really like them but I wear mine for much less athlete events than soccer. 🙂 So I am not sure they would be good support for that, maybe?
Hi! I still love printing my photos. And I use Shutterfly and wait till they have free unlimited photos and then customize it to what I need 🙂 hope that helps!
Oh, I love headbands but they don’t suit me at all!
Hey Emma, I also love having albums for big trips like that! I started doing it over a decade ago and I bought a Gallery Leather brand one at my local Barnes and Noble and by now, I’ve got half a bookshelf of those little travel ones! They aren’t cute I suppose but I like the continuity of size and shape I can have from multiple trips, but change up the colors I buy 🙂
I think the link in your book recommendation might be wrong- it links to a Gilmore Girls cookbook which doesn’t make sense in the context of your comment 😉
I double checked it and it’s showing the book Women Talking. I’m not sure what happened!
Hi Jacki –
It’s the Gilmore Girls cookbook link for me too – I was confused about the comment myself!
Try Artifact Uprising for the photobook. They have gorgeous options.
I’m definitely going to try this Green Bean recipe! This will be the first year I’m cooking Thanksgiving dinner, I would love a post about tips n tricks for planning a timeline for cooking so many recipes. 🙂
I’ve ordered Artifact Uprising’s softcover photo books for our last few big trips. I like the paper quality and smller size. Now I need to order one for our honeymoon photos!
dark crystal is on my to watch and now im curious about #2. im more sad that daylight savings is here. a fun fall list helps: https://tps-steph.blogspot.com/2019/10/0048-to-do-fall.html
ps. i also hate swtiching bags and have been converted to totes, its never a struggle to fit a book in and i always have a bag should i need one.
I did a quick Google search and found plenty of cute photo albums to hold 4×6 photos–I think the problematic part is the very specific number of 55-60. Anyway, great links, as always!
My go-to trick for photo albums where I have a specific amount of photos is either to mix in a little ephemera to bump up my total to fit the album if it’s close, or simply purchase a 12×12 scrapbook album I like and 12″ 4×6 photo inserts (normally in a grid of six). Five pages would give you room for 60 photos.
I printed an engagement and wedding album with shutterfly and now that my daughter is born I’m planning on doing a year book every year
Oh, I love the Gola shoes. I’ve never seen them before.
Always love seeing your Sunday posts, Emma! We have similar interests and taste ????
Blair Waldorf didn’t have a fringe and she definitely pulled off headbands! I hate wearing them because they hurt my head after a while but I’m sure you could pull them off.
I love Milk photo books. The quality is amazing, and they encourage only putting one or two photos on each page to make them stand out, so they’d be great for a small amount of photos. Their book of the month also gives inspiring examples. https://www.milkbooks.com/photo-books/premium-photo-books/
