hey blog world… I LOVE YOU. xxoo.elsie

Photo 929ps. i’m trying one more shade of pink this week and doing a real photo shoot (yay!)… think i will dye it a different color on Christmas Eve. i love the pink, but it’s super high maintenance and i never intended to keep it forever… just a fun experience on my list of random stuff i’ve done to show my grandkids.. ha! 🙂 not %100 sure what color i will go for next. something more natural, for sure… so my grandma won’t cry. Happy Sunday!!

  • I love the pink hair! also love your mom’s painting and most of all I love all the sharing and ideas. tv? have ya watched “modern family”? I laugh every time I watch. happy weekend! ciao!

  • Hi. You MUST watch Friday Night Lights!!!! it’s highschool football based (I know) but it’s soooo much more… Cute boys, great story lines, romance w/ pretty people, heartbreak, humor, the best grandma on tv today, oh and Coach Taylor (aka Kyle Chandler)!!!!! I can’t say enough good things about this show, one of the best… TRUST ME

  • I bet you would love the show Pushing Daisies. It’s clever, colorful, magical and beautiful.

  • I totally agree- “MODERN FAMILY” is an amazing show! Also “Community” and “30 Rock” are fantastic as well. And the best? “GLEE”- LOVE that show! Although that and So You Think You Can Dance are either finished or ending soon ;( Can you tell I watch too much tv? lol Happy Sunday!

  • i love that i came to check out more DIY holiday gift ideas and already got “10 things i love sunday”!!!! now i can keep my hands on my projects and not my keyboard with my coffee tomorrow <3

  • Sandy, I just hang them from behind with thumb tacks (since i’m renting my current space). XOXO.

Thanks for the TV advise so far! gonna check em out!

  • I love Gilmore Girls, but they don’t make any new ones anymore…Friends is also a fave, but same story (no new ones) boo. LOL but hey they have the collections on DVD and then you can watch them whenever!

  • dude, you have to rent all the seasons of “arrested development.” you will LOVE it. just start at the beginning. it’s like three seasons of one long joke and so great.

  • Shows me & my husb like to watch together that I rocommend:
    Flight of the Conchords
    Arrested Development
    The Big Bang Theory

  • I second the Pushing Daisies recommendation. Arrested Development if you haven’t seen it already as well, and most definitely Flight of the Conchords! All of these shows only have a couple seasons out on DVD and aren’t on TV anymore, but still worth watching. Another in the same camp- Veronica Mars.

  • we don’t watch much tv throughout the week, but we love monday nights on cbs. we got hooked on how i met your mother. so, we watch that then accidentally on purpose, two and a half men, the big bang theory and then csi miami. it’s kind of fun and relaxing sitting on the couch all night with my husband 🙂

  • Modern Family! Modern Family! Modern Family! Modern Family…

…is the funniest show on TV!

I love the snowflake idea. It would be a prefect weekend project with My Love and I.

    Thanks for sharing!

  • My tv recommendations have been suggested by the others, so I think we are all on to something 🙂

    1) Big Bang Theory

    2) 30 Rock

But **also** “The Middle.” It’s a lot like Malcolm in the Middle. Really funny.

    Enjoy!

  • Arrested Development and Flight of the Conchords for the WIN!

I’m loving your shade of pink right now. And that ‘make do and mend’ poster? Totally amazing.

  • a good show that is very worth checking out is Sons Of Anarchy!

Amazing story line and characters. The second season just finished up, so you should definitely check out the first season on DVD. You will be hooked for sure!

  • I would suggest you watch The Big Bang Theory – it’s totally nerdy but oh so funny! I love it & would definitely recommend it since you love The Office (like me!) :):)

  • i suggest pushing daisies also. it’s over now 🙁 but you could watch what they did shoot. I also love Ugly Betty. it’s in season 4 right now which would give you a lot to watch. so good.

  • blog world loves you too! and your pink hair!

i too loooove pr! my other favorite tv shows are pushing daisies & glee. so fantastic :]

  • Oh jeez. I’ve got TV suggestions:

-I’ve been watching Lost since Tuesday and I’m already on season3. It’s on netflix so it’s easy to stream. It’s kind of weird but addictive.

-30Rock is HILARIOUS. You have to watch it but start from the beginning.

-Dead Like Me was really cute. I liked it a lot but they didn’t finish making it so it just leaves you. There’s like… almost 3 seasons, I think, though.

-Dexter, of course. Watch from season 1. It’s, hands down, my favorite show.

-Weeds. Also watch from the beginning. It’s SO good. Clever and you will love the characters. I’m waiting for the current season to come to netflix.

I should get out more… haha

  • Flight of the Conchords – one of the funniest shows I’ve seen since The Office (British version, I haven’t seen the US one) and Extras, love it! Your blog is so pretty and inspiring – my friends and I get together for regular crafty sessions here in the UK and I showed them all your blog as inspiration, so thanks for sharing Elsie x

  • Veronica Mars is a great show that unfortunately only ran for 3 season. the dvds make for an excellent stay at home marathon though 🙂

  • I second flight of the concords and if you like the british office then peep show you might like

  • First of all…love the list today! Thanks!

Secondly, I’m a huge fan of Glee. I haven’t found anyone who has given it a try that didn’t fall in love with it.

  • Did you really make your grandma cry?
Thanks for the mention today. We love you too! Soooo much! Can’t wait for the new hair color and shoot. 🙂

  • Arrested Development is my favorite show of all time. You should watch it if you havent seen it yet. It’s Always Sunny is awesome. True Blood is a vampire drama on HBO that is super HOT! I just heard about The Mighty Boosh. A BBC comedy that is getting ever popular in the US. Looks inspiring. The pink hair makes me want to dye mine red again! (but I second the high maintenence.)

  • i love love love your hair! did you have to bleach it first? i desperately want bright red hair….always have 🙂 pink looks lovely on you!

as for television shows…have you ever seen six feet under? my boyfriend and i watched all of the seasons in like a week because it is so so soooo good! my favourite, for sure!

breaking bad is also a good one…really neat concept. i love it as well!

  • Now I see where you get all your creativity and beauty from – your mother! Her painting is truly amazing. You have a very talented family you lucky duck!

  • Twin Peaks is my favorite TV show of all time. You should really check it out if you never have. Of course, a love for David Lynch helps. Kitschy diners, a murder-mystery, oh and OWLS.

THE OWLS ARE NOT WHAT THEY SEEM, ELSIE.

I made elf hats for me and my husband. Here’s the photo of us wearing them we’re using for our holiday card: http://www.flickr.com/photos/aprilbmoore/4182296378/

I love your Sunday posts. Thanks for doing them!

  • :]]]
I love this shade of the pink much more than the last. You pull it off quite well.

I would suggest (like everyone else) Weeds. By far my favorite show.
And, I feel so dorky, but the entire series of “Harper’s Island” is on Netflix; it’s a murder mystery so it’s only one season long, and it all comes together in the end. It had me sooo hooked. I was watching 2 or 3 episodes every night before bed! 😀

  • I kinda like this shade of the pinkness. I saw elf hats at Walmart. And I love the Larson embroidery. Would look great in a wall painting/picture collage.

  • I would suggest you watched The Big Bang Theory. They all look and act so nerdy that they are hilarious! Also I really like all the things you love Sunday.Thank you so much for all the DIY projects you have suggested.I have already tried the owl cozy. You can take a look on my blog. I’d love to hear your opinion. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!

  • I loooooove 30 Rock. It’s sooooo funny. I also heard that GLEE is super good but I haven’t watched it myself.

  • I’ve always loved TV more than movies. Here are some great ones: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Serenity, Arrested Development, Scrubs, Friday Night Lights (SO GOOD!), West Wing, Modern Family, Alias and Battlestar Galactica (don’t be afraid of its crazy title!). Hope you find something new to love!

  • i really liked the show beauty and the geek. i think youd like it too. not sure if its still on anymore. havent seen it in a while.. but if u can find it, check it out! 🙂

  • Elsie,

I don’t know why you don’t consider going red. Like Pointsettia Red or like a candy apple red for Christmas. just a thot.

Tonight I am shopping BLOG platforms. Think I may make the move from reader to writer as well. hmmm.

  • Scrubs is my favorite tv show, it’s hilarious =D But I’d suggest getting the DVDs, they’re changing the new season of the show and it’s not as good =/

P.S. I love that last picture of you with your pink hair and glasses! Too cute =]

  • Elf was on tv here last night (England) and I cried at the end! Can you believe that? I cried at the end of Elf! I’m not even pregnant! I had to dash out and make the kids a drink so they didn’t rib me stoopid! 😀

  • I totally recommend you TRUE BLOOD (but I think you already know the show – “Suki” is one of the main characters);-)
    Greetings from Slovenia!
    I looooove your blog! 🙂

  • My grandma makes a fuss about my hair all the time, so I can understand! 🙂

You might give Glee a try. I love it. If you were a ‘geeky’ kid in school, it’s entertaining to relate to the characters (I certainly relate)!

  • Let’s see:

    Glee

    The Middle

Glee (though on a hiatus until April)

    Modern Family

Glee (1st half of season comes out on DVD 12/29)

    Weeds

    Did I mention Glee

Big Love (new season starts in Jan I think).

    And, Glee

  • You should totally give Glee a go! I only started watching it a few weeks ago, but it is so infectious.

  • Oh, I love all of your “things” this week (but I always do) 🙂

I’m sure these were already suggested, but some shows my hubby & I love to watch togther:

    *Arrested Development (on DVD)

*Flight of the Conchords (also DVD)

    *Curb Your Enthusiam

*Mythbusters (hee, hee, kinda nerdy, but we love it)

*not a series, but we’ve been enjoying all of the winter sports lately, especially skiing

    Happy show hunting 🙂

    ~twiggy h.

  • Oh and forgot to mention “Community”

My hubby went to school with Joel McHale so it’s nice to see his success 🙂

  • I can’t believe no one mentioned “The Tudors”. I Just started watching this and I’m hooked! I’m usually not into period pieces; but the writing, acting and costumes are fantastic.

Oh…and a shameless plug for some of my fav Canadian shows (can watch online!):

  • Such a trip to see the Owl Club sign on your blog…I live near Roseville and have been there before so I was like, whoa haha.

  • oh my, I could go on about tv for a long long time….

my current shows (meaning they still have new episodes/seasons) are Project Runway, America’s Next Top Model *gulp, a guilty pleasure*, Scrubs (ABC) for funny, Parks & Recreation (NBC) for more funny, Fringe (Fox) for my Joshua Jackson fix… haha, also for j.j. abrams fix :), Castle (Nathan Fillion! And his twitter (the actor) and his twitter for his character Rick Castle are HILARIOUS), Law & Order (regular (NBC), Special Victims Unit(NBC), and Criminal Intent[USA]) – all three of these shows are my crime drama loves, I think I’ve seen every single episodes of all versions at least once :), oh and last but certainly not least Burn Notice (USA).. dramatic, funny, entertaining, spy-drama, and I love the voice over stuff. Jeffrey Donovan as ex-spy Michael Weston= LOVE!

As far as tv shows no longer on (either over or canceled): The West Wing (Aaron Sorkin is amazing, the walk and talk scenes.. incredible acting. Real world stuff in politics/news/etc.) — Felicity (girl off to college and her adventures and friends. JJ Abrams creation) — Alias (Jennifer Garner as super gal/spy Sydney Bristow. Michael Vartan as Michael Vaughn and Bradley Cooper as Will are my other fave characters. Another JJ Abrmas creation) — Everwood (little town in Colorado, the community that lives there, and of course the incredible ups & downs of Amy (Emily VanCamp) and Ephram (Gregory Smith) — X-Files (the classic scifi. the duo/partners of Mulder/Scully) — Firefly (same guy who did/does Dollhouse, Buffy, Angel, etc.) …lovely fantasy/scifi show that was cut short after 13 episodes (and where I saw Nathan Fillion for the first time) and the movie that goes with called Serenity, and of course, I’m not finished, but the show I currently am in the middle of with my boyfriend, Six Feet Under. Alan Ball (who also did the film “American Beauty”)… I don’t even know how to describe this show. But highly recommended. 🙂

  • 30 Rock is awesome. I don’t watch much TV but I Hulu 30 Rock every week.

    The Conchords are a must.

I know most of the HBO shows are always great. I miss Six Feet Under 🙁

I am so in love with your mom’s painting. The talent clearly runs in the family…

  • I have to chime in with agreement on many of the ones mentioned:

Modern Family, Glee, Arrested Development, Friday Night Lights, Veronica Mars, and Flight of the Conchords (something Jeremy should love, too). And if you want a brilliant old-school show, you won’t be disappointed in Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Happy channel-surfing!

  • Those shoes that say “me” and “you” those are from a movie “you, me, and everyone we know”. If you haven’t seen it you should watch it. Its very good.

  • Arrested Development is by far the best show that has ever been canceled. I could watch all of them every year! Flight of the Conchords is also great. I stumbled upon a few episodes of a new show called Free Radio, and I literally could not stop watching it was so funny. I may have peed a little I was laughing so hard.

  • When I saw that picture of the owl club I was like I know that place.. I used to live right down the street from there.. I still kind of live in that area and when I go to Roseville I always love going down there..

  • I just found your blog and have and spent today looking back at past posts and was happy to find the Owl Club sign. My husband grew up in Roseville, right down the street from that bar!!
You’ve definitely inspired me to be more crafty. 🙂
    xoxo
