Hey friends! Today is the last day of 12 Days of Giveaways (eeeek, where is the time going?!), and we are so excited to bring you some goodies from Oui Fresh: essential oils! We’ll be giving three winners a Cozy Mini Set, a full-size lemon, and a full-size grapefruit, so some seasonal things for now and some fresh picks for the new year. 🙂
Our very popular Cozy Set has sold out a few times since we launched in September and includes cinnamon, peppermint, and fir needle. I love using cinnamon in the diffuser this time of year (it’s of course festive, but it has antiviral properties that can help to detoxify your air), and I also love using it in this easy, peasy gingerbread lip scrub. In very small doses, it’s safe for the skin and increases blood flow, so it’s great as a lip plumper!
Fir needle is just a JAM, guys. The fragrance is so gorgeous and festive and it’s great for your home in terms of helping to clean that air while all those winter germs are floating around. You’ll be surprised how many things fir needle pairs well with, and it’s great in cleaning supplies.
Peppermint is so dreamy and versatile; I have it paired with grapefruit right now and it’s a vibrant and happy blend. I love using peppermint in scrubs too for its tingly, refreshing feeling. It also is fantastic for respiratory health—just make sure you diffuse it/use it around kiddos 6 and up! The menthol is very strong in this oil and can cause slowed breathing in rare cases. This is a very cautious rule we abide by here at Oui Fresh, but safety is key, ya know? If you love mint and you’ve got littles, we adore bergamot mint and spearmint, which are totally kid safe.
Grapefruit, *sigh*. My favorite citrus! This one really does have a sparkle to it in the fragrance department and is excellent for hand and dish soaps. I also love it for use in DIY toners/essences for skincare; it’s a natural astringent, so it helps to brighten and tone your complexion. Rose geranium is another favorite grapefruit pairing of mine in the diffuser, and both are really uplifting.
Last, but certainly not least, lemon! Lemon is, of course, a classic cleaning product scent. One of the best things about using lemon essential oil (or any essential oils in your cleaning products) is that the fragrance is 100% natural. With lemon, you get the added benefits of its purifying effects on the air instead of an artificial fragrance with a bunch of undisclosed ingredients.
