As you know, we love making our own jewelry. It's fun to buy special pieces from time to time, but handmade jewelry has a certain sentimental value, and let's face it, making something for yourself, a friend, or a loved one is the best feeling. If you're looking for some inspiring ideas, we've compiled 12 of our favorites. Let's start with these personalized leather phrase bracelets. What would yours say?
Have some friends over for a craft night and make a simple beaded necklace. So many color possibilities! These glittery gold thunderbolt earrings are the perfect combination of cool and fancy.
Make a hand-stamped initial bracelet or a stamped necklace for yourself or a friend!
We love statement necklaces! This braided rope necklace is a fun variety. We chose a bright color and a classic neutral.
Use some clay and your favorite paint colors to create this geometric necklace.
Whether you're in the mood for gold or silver, something sparkly, or classic pearls, these fancy friendship bracelets are perfect because you can make a bunch of them and mix and match.
This marble jade earring and necklace set is so pretty, and easy to make. Double win.
We love the multi-colored look of this beaded looped clay necklace.
Spruce up some colorful leather bracelets with studs.
These easy skinny leather bracelets are so simple and chic.
Instead of using clay, try making a bauble necklace with wooden beads. We especially love the glossy look of these!

I never used to wear jewellery, but it’s something I’m starting to enjoy more and more as I get older. There’s a huge bead shop near my home, and I’m so keen to explore it since reading this. These ideas are all so gorgeous – I would wear them all!

What a fun round up! I love big statement pieces but they are even more fun to make yourself. I think that the woven one is my favourite – and I like that you made it in both a bright, poppy colour and a neutral. So versatile!

My wife loves jewelry, but she tends to not like the jewelry I pick for her. I always convince myself I know her taste, but then I end up making the wrong choice. Maybe I should just have her make her own jewelry. http://www.smith-jewelry-coins.com/
When I was a kid, I had this nasty hobby of string colored chewing gums after their business is finished. No, I didn’t wear it, but I entertained me to fool my friends and make them wear one, especially in summers. That’s the only DIY jewelry job I have even known.
My daughter has wanted me to help her make some custom jewelry lately. I am going to have to use some of these ideas for her jewelry. She would love ear rings like those ones shaped like bow ties. That looks like something me and her could pull off together. http://www.home-expressions.com/listing.asp?dept_id=95030&nopopup=1
