Hand printing is a fast and easy way to put your personal "stamp" on almost anything in your life. There are multiple hand printing techniques that you can use to add cute patterns to everything you own. Two of the easiest ways to hand print are by carving your own stamp or making your own foam stamp. God knows we love a good stencil project too! 😀
Here are 13 of our favorite hand printing ideas:
1. You can use fruits and veggies as a stamp!
3. Hand stamp your own cloth napkins.
4. Use a homemade foam stamp to make an anchor statement wall.
5. Add some personality to your jeans with this heart jeans DIY.
6. How cute are these hand printed pillows? Make any design you like with washi tape and fabric paint!
7. Here's our favorite hand stamped pony dress.
8. Can't find the perfect wallpaper? Create your own wall with this custom stenciled wall DIY?
9. Who said paint by numbers is just for wall art? Make your own paint by numbers pillow.
10. Use your handwriting skills to create this wax resist scarf.
11. Make a heart blanket to keep you warm this fall.
12. Try a herringbone stamp to add a pattern to home decor.
13. Worried that you don't have the craft skills to make a cute handprinted project? Try an easy messy handprinted polka dot (with Q Tips!)
Have you printed anything by hand lately? Which project would you want to try first? xo. Elsie

Awesome ! cant wait to do my own.
The paint by numbers one is so cute! I wish I had the time and patience to sit through doing that 🙂
So many projects, I wished I had time to try them all! I guess I would go for the scarf first too, or why not try painting a landscape on a top or robe, see how it turns out.

Thank you for all this inspiration!
One of my readers sent me a link to a Bulgarian crafts blog, Krokotak, where they had used empty paper tubes (from toilet paper etc) to print: http://krokotak.com/2013/01/otpetchatatsi-sartsa-i-8-idei-za-tyah/
I used the idea to print stars and hearts on a bunch of old T-shirts (saved over the years for something like this), ironed them and turned them into baby trousers:

I love to print something by hand, because you are able to make a normal thing in life more beautiful. I tried my handmade potatoe stamps for a DIY background on my blog. And I embellished my sneakers with an aztec pattern by hand. My sister already used different techniques for beautifying her handmade pillows in the shape of a sheep and a fox, just amazing!
That’s so cool! What kind of paint do you use to print on clothes?
I love this post <3
The jeans are so cute! 😀
Yes! To literally everything on this post – perfect! x
This looks so good! Loving the throw and the walls and the cushions and the jeans… so, well, basically everything! Definitely feeling inspired now to try something new 🙂 xo
oooh I love this! I make hand printed paper goods so I print a lot! but my fav is probably a panda hand stamped dress I made for myself this summer – http://hejjuni.typepad.com/blog/2013/07/pete-the-panda-dress.html
I love printing with foam. You can see some of my projects I have made here on my blog. I wish more people were brave enough to give it a go.

These ideas are GREAT! I’m especially fond of the little hearts on the jeans! If I can ever manage to find an inexpensive pair of jeans that fit me well, I’ll definitely give it a go!

Sweet! Fruits and veggies can make the most surprising shapes. Cutting an apple in half the other way gives you a disk with a star in it. Wouldn’t recommend bananas.
Oh my! My 7 year old just squealed with delight at the horse dress. Looks like I have stamp making ahead of me.
Cool ideas

And now I want a wall full of vegetable and fruit stamps. That would look just epic.
Or another idea – every siingle room with it’s other fruit stamps. Yellow banana room, green apple room and violet plumb room. You just made my day:)
What kinds of fabric paints do you recommend? I want something that won’t be too sticky or starchy feeling, but will wash well. Thanks for your help!
Such a cute idea, will have to try this 🙂
