You probably already have most of your holiday decorating done and gifts bought. If you're anything like me all that's left now is wrapping a few more gifts and squeezing in a few more holiday treats! If you're in the mood for something chocolaty might I suggest this chocolate buttermilk cake. The holidays are THE time of year for peanut brittle—try this sweet and spicy kind.Mini treats that double as gifts? Yes, please! Try these white chocolate and Nutella truffles. If you're in the mood to bake a pie might I suggest this Cheesy Apple Pie. Making cookies for Santa? Try these classic Madeleine cookies. This is probably one of my very favorite cheesecake recipes. Yum! The holidays are the best time to bake with booze! Try this bourbon apple pie. This red velvet swirl bundt cake is so easy to make, and delicious to eat!I will be dreaming of these come Christmas morning: pomegranate glazed donuts.these mint mocha frappes are decadent and oh-so delicious. I plan on enjoying all the peppermint I can this season! Speaking of peppermint, try this peppermint hot cocoa.Or if you want to fancy up a plain hot cocoa try making your own peppermint marshmallows. It's not as hard as you might think. What about a peppermint white russian? Too much peppermint? Have you had enough yet? 🙂I don't know about you but during these chilly winter months I don't mind a hot toddy. Don't mind it all. 🙂If you're a pumpkin kind of gal you should totally try this pumpkin cheesecake martini. To me the holidays are all about the breakfasts. Of course there is Christmas morning breakfast, which is a big thing in our family. But there is also just leisurely breakfasts at home with out of town family or friends in for the holidays. If you're feeling adventurous you might try making Aebleskiver. If you're wanting to make something ahead of time I would suggest giving homemade bagels a try (these are our favorite!).Here in southern Missouri biscuits and gravy are a big deal. 🙂 I like this vegetarian version for mushroom gravy. Yum! If you're feeding a crowd you should totally try these peanut butter sticky buns. French toast is good, but french toast sticks are a party. Enjoy! xo. Emma

OMG! Everything looks great. I want those bagels! Next year, a bit of turrón? There are many types of turrón, my favourite is similar to nougat, with chocolate and almonds, but I’ve never made it, only eaten it. Merry Christmas!
Everything looks so delicious! x

Ooooh now im hungry…. 😀
Maybe next year I need to celebrate Xmas at MY home, so I can choose and cook all the goodies… 😛 But this year i will use the opportunity to cook and bring something! And what kind of something! Something good as well! A chocolatemouse from Jamie Oliver, truely AMAZING.. (no peppermint though, unfortunally)
Greetings and best whishes from The Netherlands!
Love, Suhela
Ps We are missing out on the white this year with 53 degrees of farenheit and some stormy rains… Do you guys have more snow-luck?
Nevertheless inside it is still warm and cosy… 🙂
Pss Ánd we are passed the shortest day! Yay! Did you all know that decorating Xmas-trees is a tradition to celebrate the fact that we are now growing towards longer days again; towards spring and light? 🙂
Psss Did you also know that Santa Claus doesn’t visit The Netherlands? Luckily Sinterklaas does, he is from Spain and visits us on his birthday, December the 5th. He comes without sledge and raindeers but with a boat and he travels on his horse, surrounded with a lot of Zwarte Pieten (helpers) who throw the presents through our fireplaces…
These all look so good and are making me so hungry!

Such beautiful, tasty recipes! I’m definitely going to check out a few of these. 🙂 Hmmm…. I just so love EATING! I agree about the Holidays being a grand time for amazing breakfasts. My sweet Hubby made us eggs benedict this year for Christmas morning. Thankfully, we went for a long walk after said breakfast. 😉 Hope you had a very merry Christmas!
