Hooray for another fun reader giveaway! In case you missed out, this month we are celebrating A Beautiful Mess turning 10 years old with 10 awesome giveaways for you all! If you missed our anniversary post, see it here. This past year, we got to work with Fossil during their holiday campaigns and it was a blast, so we were so excited when they offered to give away one of their beautiful (and super useful) hybrid smartwatches.

The Q Accomplice watch is pretty rad in that it can do all sorts of things like: track fitness goals, receive and alert you of notifications, and even take photos from your phone (it acts as the trigger). Along with each of our anniversary giveaways, we also try to add in a few little peeks back to the past as we celebrate a decade of blogging. And since we’re giving away a smartwatch here, we thought we’d include a little look back at our app journey.

As you all know, A Beautiful Mess is mostly a blog focused on crafting, decorating, and cooking, among a few other topics we go into from time to time (we like TOO many things, clearly). So when we first decided to create a photo editing app back in 2012 (released in 2013), you could say we were a little out of our element. But that would be the understatement of the year. Ha! Elsie and I always think of that first app as one of the biggest and scariest business decisions we’ve ever made and we are so, so grateful that the app was received well and helped to propel us forward. It wasn’t perfect and we ended up needing to rebuild the entire thing once, among other frustrating setbacks. We learned and we grew. Eventually, we released a second app, Party Party. And last year, we launched our third app, A Color Story, as a company all on its own and we’ve watched it grow. It’s been amazing. We still feel so lucky and grateful for this part of our story.

  • I have been obsessed with you two for about 4 years now and I absolutely LOVE the blog!!!! Also, a coulour story is my favorite photo editing app!!!! I am about to embark on motherhood for the first time sonthay app will be overused in sure!! Fossil is my all time favorite company for bags and watches but when it comes time to purchase something For myself I can never justify spending the money on me. So, winning this this would be ABSOLUTELY amazing… I’d finally have the justification to spend the money on a new matching purse to go with my watch right?!!!! A WIN WIN for everybody!!!!!

  • When I started reading this blog it was maybe 6-8 years ago. I barely knew how to braid and loved reading your hair how to’s just to figure it out. Now I braid the hair for my college softball team before practices and games along with doing a lot of my friends hair before parties. I’m so thankful for this blog and it has inspired me to live vibrantly through creativity and color. I’ve also worn fossil watches for just as long as I’ve read this blog, there’s truly nothing better than Fossil and ABM.

  • Your blog has been the only one that I have continued to follow for the last 8-9 years. The content is always fresh and appealing to the eye and the occasional personal posts keeps us engaged. Also very inspiring is to see two sisters being able to work together so well. Congrats on 10 years ABM. BTW, A color story rocks!

  • I remember when Elsie and Emma had separate blogs. I went to Emma’s for recipes and Elsie’s for the crafts–it only made sense the to collided into one ‘Beautiful Mess’. It’s been cool to watch you all do so many entrepreneurial moves. Brick and mortar store, bakery, bar, online store, books, home makeovers, recording an album (j/k Throw Back to an April fools blog post)… the list is endless. Glad to see the team grow and the blog still up and running.
