Chocolate-Covered Cherry Shake (Non-Dairy!)

Yum! Chocolate Covered Cherry Shake (Non-Dairy!) I am a big “late night snack” kind of girl. As far as I’m concerned, there are four meals in a day and that last snacking session is usually my most favorite. I’ve been trying the last few years to find healthier options for my midnight snack, so we teamed up with Almond Breeze Almond Milk to make this healthier chocolate-covered cherry shake. It’s a great option for me because it’s non-dairy, no added sugar, and a delicious frozen treat all in one!

Yum! Chocolate Covered Cherry Shake (Non-Dairy!)Chocolate-Covered Cherry Shake (Non-Dairy!), serves one.

1/2-3/4 cup unsweetened vanilla Almond Breeze Almond Milk
1 1/2 cups frozen pitted cherries
3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
1 frozen ripe banana

Yum! Chocolate Covered Cherry Shake (Non-Dairy!) Cut your ripe banana into smaller chunks and place in the freezer until frozen. Combine your frozen bananas, frozen cherries (which you can buy frozen, or pit and freeze your own), cocoa powder, and 1/2 cup of the unsweetened vanilla almond milk in a blender. Blend on a high speed until smooth, and add an additional 1/4 cup of almond milk if your shake is too thick to blend. Pour into a glass and enjoy!

You can also add some chocolate chips into your shake or top with whipped cream (regular or non-dairy options for either) for that extra vintage milkshake look. Don’t you love drinking out of these old-fashioned soda fountain glasses? As always, I’m counting down the hours to my late night snack tonight. Think you’ll add this shake to your late night rotation? xo. Laura

  • Hi Tommie!
You can make coconut whipped cream pretty easily (just search it online) or some health food stores have dairy free alternatives. Coconut whipped cream is pretty good though, try it!

    Laura 🙂

  • I would just leave the banana out if that’s a problem (I make it a lot that way too) 🙂

    Laura

  • Hi Mana!
I would definitely give it a try! You can try rice milk too if that works for you 🙂

  • Yum! I love playing around with non-sweetened treats at night. Usually I just make cherry “ice cream” with frozen cherries and a banana, but I love the idea of a milkshake!

  • Sorry if I’m missing something but the picture shows some whipped cream looking stuff on top – where is this part from and is it dairy free? Thanks!

  • Amazing! I want to drink this right now. Shame we are just out of the cherry season here in Oz.

  • Chocolate AND cherries?! Sooo yummy!! I love that this treat is dairy-free, but my diet doesn’t allow bananas either…any suggestions for a suitable substitute?!
