Hey friends! I'm here to share some plans for the bedroom in our new space. This is one of my favorite rooms in the house. Here are a few "before" photos:This is what you see when you walk into the room from the hallway. This is the wall where the bed will be. The room you can see through the door is a small room that we plan to use as a "styling room" (basically pretty storage). Alright- turn to the right and this is the next wall. Maybe some art here?
This is the wall facing the hallway. That other door goes up the attic. Isn't that little window a character? Maybe a side table or dresser on that small wall?
Here's my favorite view! A wall with pretty bay window.
We have big plans for this room! First of all, the border has been stripped and the warped ceiling has been skim coated. We painted the room a fresh bright white with a pop of color on the ceiling. You might remember we were considering a pop of color for the living room ceiling, but we decided it was more fitting for the bedroom. I just picked out the light fixture and it's gorgeous!
That's all the progress we have so far. SO many more choices to make. Headboard inspiration via Desire To Inspire.
You guys may already know, but we love making headboards! This time we want to change it up and do something fun underneath the bed as well. I'm actually considering a canopy bed frame. Can't wait to dream up side table ideas as well.

One thing I really want to focus on in this room is something unexpected. I love this gigantic photograph in Mike D's (Beastie Boys) home.
In addition to these ideas we will for sure create some kind of new incarnation of the guest room cart. Maybe not a cart this time, but a place to leave treats for our guests. We've had a bunch of guests since making that for my homem, and it's such a great way to show our friends we care. π
Alrighty! I only have one more "before" post to share and we'll be sharing progress photos soon! We actually just worked at the new space for the first time today (!!!!!) It's come along way since these before photos were taken in October. Cannot wait to share more! xo. Elsie

Great inspiration photos. I’m loving the windows in the room. I’ve always wanted a bay window in my bedroom. I can’t wait to see what you’ll do with them!
What a beautiful room! I love the little corner windows. My home has similar ones but they aren’t floor to ceiling like those. I love the bedding in the fourth to last photo, the yellow polka dots, totally looks like your style! Actually I kind of want that bedding now! Lovely inspiration…good luck!
Can’t wait to see your progress shots! Making a place your own is tough work, but so exciting!

what a great space…love all the angles.
Oh my I LOOOOOVE the last photo! That floor is beautiful and so is the large photo!
Remodeling is so taxing. My first married home was over 100 yes old. Thankfully the husband to be ran duct work prior to my moving in. After that experience I settled on a cosmetic remodel vs a gutter outer. Be sure to insulate your marriage (pun unintended, I assure you). No matter how obsessive the projects can get. So not the same as TV where projects are overnight.
Love the big windows!! I think the yellow accents in the second bedroom inspiration picture would go well in there! Nice and sunshiney!
Such a fun room to redo! Your inspiration pictures are gorgeous! Loving all that yellow! π

I’m so excited to see how it will turn out! Its got such great bones – mostly those awesome windows, so I know it will be stunning!
I am not understanding why the ABM studio house needs a bedroom? I guess it would make more sense to me, given the range of projects you tackle, to have another workspace if you have the space for it – if only to avoid cross-contaminating messes. You know, like a space to sew where you won’t encounter wet paint or glue, a place to paint where there’s no flying dust/sawdust, or even just a space that’s a big enough space to accommodate a larger project in progress without interfering with productivity elsewhere.
I’m surprised you’re doing a bedroom in your studio house! I figured it would be mostly workspaces. Still, I am excited to see what you come up with. Good luck!
The bay window wall is simply gorgeous/breath-taking! I cannot wait to see progress pictures!
That room has so much potential! The space is great! Can’t wait to see what you do with it!
I love that bedroom, even in the before photos! There’s so much one could do with such a room. Can’t wait for the after Pictures!

Ooh I think I’m most excited to see how this room turns out! π
why do you need a bedroom, will someone be staying in this house?
Cant wait for the final outcome!!!!

I’m confused – doesn’t take much! I thought this house was bought as an ‘office’ space for ABM but you’re having a guest room? Does that mean I can come and stay?!?!?!
I love this room! It has such character, all those doors and the little second window π Can’t wait to see the outcome π

I especially like the bay window! Looking forward to seeing how this project comes along–I’m sure you’ll have fun with it.
The room with the yellow pillow! OMG, I want to live in that room. I can’t wait to see what you girls come up with; the bedroom in your studio is the perfect size. I’m trying to save money and now I’m wanting to take a trip or two to some of my fave home decor stores to redecorate.
What a great space to start with. Love the flooring!
That is the prettiest bay window I have ever laid eyes on! Can’t wait to see what you decide for “something unexpected” & adore your inspiration photos so much(as usual!)… A pop of aqua or yellow would be super fun in this room!
This is such an exciting process! Can’t wait to see the end results.
I love giant photos too. There’s one in the movie Trust the Man that I have always loved.

So exciting! Those windows are amazing! Curious though..I may have missed this in a previous post, but you’re actually designing this bedroom as a bedroom? I guess I was thinking all the rooms would just be work spaces for you all. How fun, though!
I love that style of home!! I can’t wait to see what you guys do!!
Hi Kim, Great question! We work with a lot of talented people all across the country, who often come to town to work on various ventures with us. It’s nice to be able to offer a cozy place to crash. But don’t worry. We’ve got plenty of work space in this house. We’re going to have a lot of fun here. xo!
I love the blue photo above the bed! And I love your blog! I just started reading it and am already inspired! π
I used to be super into remodeling stuff when I was in my twenties. Now that I’m in my thirties I just want to relax and not redo all the time. Do you think that might happen to you guys?
The room is totally anti-fengshui.
Can’t wait to see the finished results, I’m moving this month and have been loving creating Pinterest boards for every space, will be recording how I get on over on http://www.peachparade.com
I love your bay window! I have yet to decorate my new bedroom, it’s pretty intimidating!

I would love to have that last bed! That house is so gorgeous too, you girls have be thinking of my dream house now π
How very exciting! Love the inspiration photos π Can’t wait to see!
I’m having so much fun reading these posts and you haven’t even begun to show us the finished product yet! My mom decided to move to the south (I’m in Chile), so while she looks at a place to live, I’ve been killing time at work looking at paint and fabric. SO EXCITING.
I was just wondering what year the house was built as we have a 1901 house with nightmare spaces to work with especially the bedroom. I love the ideas that you have shown and hope to adopt some of them if possible. We may have to renovate and add to the bedroom as it is so small. We have another bedroom in the front of the house that has the closet in it, so unsure if I should make that a walk-in closet or what?
Anyway, I love the house you have, it is so beautiful. I’m sure you will make it even more beautiful. Thanks. Carole
Is there a specific name for the photos of the bed frames you posted? (Not Mike D’s canopy bed). I’m obsessed!! Do I dare ask of there’s a DIY for it? Can’t wait to see what else is next for the house!
i was wondering the same. such a nice idea to have space for a guest! i love all your update ideas for this place–exciting to watch as it all comes together. thanks–
