I love to make homemade gifts. I usually get a *little* too ambitious with the amount of gifts I plan to make and end up doling out gift cards, but I mean well all the same. This year I am planning to make some fancy headbands for my far away friends and nieces. These are a snap to make so you won't fall behind on your gift list! Step 1: This headband is supposed to be wide, so you will want to cut accordingly. My headband was 22in long, 11in at the widest part, and 4in at the bottom or base. Step 2: Fold your fabric in half length-wise. Step 3: With a machine or your hand, stitch along the edge all the way down. Don't close up the ends just yet! Step 4: Your fabric should look like this. Turn the tube rightside-out. Step 5: Fold one end under and tuck the other raw end into it. Step 6: Stitch the ends together with a machine or your hand and choose your favorite lady to gift it to! I don't know if you can tell in the photos, but I bought shiny and shimmery stretchy fabrics to make these extra fancy. π This is a great DIY even if you don't have a sewing machine because it's so simple to do by hand! Happy sewing! xo. Katie

So cute. I’ve seen something similar for sale in Anthropologie – but far prefer the idea of making my own. Then I can choose the fabric!
Love it!

Really lovely gift idea, Katie! I am having serious hair envy, too!

I really like these a lot! I’ve been searching for cute, fabric headbands. For someone that wears glasses, wearing headbands can be a pain in the…well, the head, specifically right behind my ears. It’s kinda hard to find fabric headbands that are super cute like this though! I’m gonna have to try it out soon!

I love this look on you. You are so clever to be able to make these yourself. I buy mine, but I still love a gorgeous scarf/headband, especially on a day when my hair just won’t cooperate.

So cute! I love DIY Christmas gifts and these are beautiful and functional. Now I know what I can make for those girls I wasn’t sure what to get. Plus, the fact that they cover your ears seems like big plus for the winter months.
