We are happy to welcome Sylvie Liv to the blog today to share bits of her lovely home with us!
"I share my home with my dear husband and our bunch of munchkins. When we bought our home five years ago, our family was smaller. We were looking for a home that had room for our family to grow… We found what we wanted and much more here in this cozy house in the Michigan countryside."
"Our home is cozy. I love having a fireplace in our living space. There is something so comfy about sitting around the fire in the winter with a cup of spice tea in my hands and my littles all piled around me. Last winter my husband and I built a fort in front of the fireplace and camped in it overnight. It was the perfect cozy, fun, and free date!"
"One of my favorite pieces is my vintage Metro Detroit map in my dining room. My Mom found it for me! I also love my vintage doily hanging in my living room. I found my big vintage doily in my Grandmother’s craft room stash! I suppose the most unusual decoration in my home is the round pulley wheels on my dining room shelves. They are off of the back of an old washing machine. I found them in my Father in Law’s barn. It is so fun to dig in his barn to find old forgotten treasures! Many people who visit us comment about my use of the buck mount in my living room décor. I like it there, and that is what’s important!"
"When we first moved into our home, we had a mix of all different things that people had given to us. I have slowly worked to swap those things with things that I love. Now our space makes me so happy. I spend my entire days here with my little ones and my work, so it is important to me that it is inspiring, practical, and comfortable! In our home… we eat (constantly!), we sleep (not enough), we work (mostly Dad and Mum), we play (and make messes), we sing (our poor neighbors!), we hug (and smear noses on Mum), we cry (everyday), we laugh (til we cry), and we have company over (a lot)."
Thank you so much for sharing your home with us! You can find more of Sylvie Liv at her blog and her shop! xo.

What I find truly inspirational about this post is the love that this family clearly shares, this love is merely reflected by their gorgeous home.
I adore those industrial, rustic shelves over the desk. I would love to know if you bought those or built them yourself!
Beautiful space, I like how bright it is.
What a cozy home !

Her style is absolutely flawless, what a beautiful home. I love the polka dot walls!
Absoltutely gorgeous. How does she keep it so clean and white with kids?
BTW, I’m hosting a giveaway on my blog this week from a cute internet kids clothing spot. I’m trying to help the girl who owns the company as she does donate a portion of her sales to autism. If you know of anyone who’d like a cute kids’ outfit, please enter. all you have to do is comment.

I absolutely love the simpleness of her decor. Although I love color, black & white will always have a strong hold on my heart. It can be really bold in a clean-cut sort of way.

Wow, I am so in love with your style, Silvie Liv. It’s so different and refreshing. And the doily hanging on the wall and the kids’ feet in the air… beyond adorable.
Just a note, though, that the link to her shop is broken. I did a quick search and the correct link is here: https://www.etsy.com/hk-en/shop/SylvieLiv
Can’t wait to check it out properly. Thanks for sharing!

I love the black & white theme throughout the house, and how the little pops-of-color really add to the space. I particularly like the large map hanging on the wall – what a great touch!
it looks so cozy both your home and your family 🙂

I like everything in her house, it is just to sparse for me. I like to see more pictures or something homey in houses.
Those dots on the wall! <3 So pretty. And I love the use of black and white with pops of muted color. 🙂
Such a beautiful home! I love the simplicity with the splashes of sea foam and peach.
So beautiful! x

Thank you Jennifer! 🙂 I built those shelves, and they were one of the most rewarding projects I’ve ever done!
I did a tutorial on them, you can find it here:

Thanks Chelsea! Can I tell you a secret? …Those dots where super cheap and easy to do! You can find a tutorial on my blog! 🙂
Thanks Japolina! Just between the two of us, it’s not always that clean! We live here. 🙂 So there is often Cheerios on the floor and spaghetti on the walls. But I sure do my best to keep it lovely! Makes me happy.
Thank you ALL for the very sweet comments! You all have made me feel even more thankful for our wonderful home. Thank you. Thank you.
I love your blog. And it’s in that way which finds me looking for a post that will colour my world on a cold and grey Monday (such as this) or finding a fantasy I want to try out at my new place (it’s a simple room with a partition and great potential for a beautiful mess inspired by you).
Thanks for colouring my world!
Beautiful home! It looks so cosy and calming!

I would love to know where the fabric came from that is on the chair and foot-stool in the last photo! Beautiful home 🙂
I love maps used as wall art!
I was just thinking how much I love her simple color palate and use of black and white! Love all her modern touches.
What a beautifull home,
Where do you keep the kids?
I love the clean look with all of the white!
Thank you Jen! I actually designed the fabric myself. I wrote more about it today on my blog. Come check it out!

The muted colour palette looks dreamy, I love it! Where do you find all these stylish homes!? 🙂
Gorgeous space
Love this house! the polka dot wall is potentially my favorite. been toying with the idea of doing that in my own living room!
I’m a fan of the white. My mom decorated everythingggggg in white when I was little and I did not like it at all. BUT now that I’m grown I see the simplicity; a blank canvas for the rest of the room to be changing!
So amazing! It´s so beautiful! :O
