Sister Style: Impulse Buys

1111Every winter coat has a story. This particular black coat showed up in my winter wardrobe very randomly. You may not know this, but I don't impulse buy that often—especially anything over $20. There's always a budget and a plan. But I made an exception for this coat. It was one of those impulse buys I actually don't regret at all. How often does that happen, right? Elsie and I were in NYC some weeks ago for a short business trip. We had five hour break in the middle of the day between two meetings, so we set off to walk around and enjoy the city. I hadn't planned well for the day. I was wearing a thin blazer with a scarf and gloves. After a good bit of sad shivering, we ducked into the first store we found (H&M), and I bought a coat and hat. I spent less than ten minutes deciding on this coat. It was warm-looking, fit me and very affordable. That's pretty much all I cared about at the moment. But I've ended up wearing it a lot already, so that worked out. Every time I wear this coat I can't help but remember my poor NYC packing plan. As my mom would say, it all worked out anyway. 🙂
