Autumn Owl Decorations

Autumn Owl DecorationsAutumn isn’t just about skulls and ghosts (although we love them… obviously!) If you are in the mood for a more sweet, less spooky Autumn craft, here ya go! These owls are super easy to make with recycled supplies and SO cute! Here’s how:

Autumn Owl Decorations abeautifulmess.comSupplies: Tissue paper (in several neutral colors), brown felt, hot glue gun, masking tape, brown leather, wooden beads, craft twigs, and raffia.

1. Use some tissue paper (or newspaper) to create a paper wad the size of your owl bodies (we made three different sizes of owls range from 4-7 inches). Use the masking tape to secure your owl body together. 2. Use scissors to create long strips of tissue paper or fabric fringe. Starting from the bottom of your owl, use the hot glue gun to attach the fringe in overlapping rows. Finish the top of your owlโ€™s head by making a circle with your paper or fabric and fringe the edges of your circle before gluing in place. 3. Using a small circle of paper as your base, glue short pieces of straight raffia pieces in a circular pattern for your owl eyes. Once your circle is full, trim the edges to the appropriate size (depending on your owl dimensions). Glue a wooden bead to the middle of your raffia circle and glue your eyes onto your owl. 4. Cut three twigs the same length and hot glue one side together in a โ€œVโ€ shape to create an owl foot. Repeat the process and glue the feet to the bottom of your owl. 5. For the owl nose, cut a small triangle out of your leather and glue the nose in place.
