In our entryway we have a tall dresser that stands alone on a big wall. For the past six months we've had one of my mom's giant abstract paintings there (she's kind enough to let us borrow pieces often!) Recently we swapped out a few and she took that piece home. Our entry was feeling a little sad and empty for a week or two. I planned to make something, but since my project list is unusually long right now I chose a temporary (and seasonal!) solution to buy some time. Enter: Hats as artwork. Use your own hat collection to create a gallery wall look with just a few thumbtacks! It's too easy to even call this a project, but it made a huge impact in our entry. I love the cozy and casual vibe.
Have you ever used a collection to create an easy, temporary display?
I hope you had a wonderful weekend! xo. elsie

Lovely idea!
Oh, many thanks for your great idea! Because I own many hats by the simple reason that I love it to wear hats 🙂

What a fun idea! Unfortunately I don’t have any space left in my very tiny house, but it’s certainly something to keep in mind for if I will ever move to a bigger place!
XOXO
Interesting. It would be fun to paint them with geometrical designs or lines.

Such a cool idea, but unfortunately I don’t have the wall space nor a large enough collection of hats 🙁
How cool! I’ve hanged my hats on the wall in my bedroom using clothes pins and some fishing line, and I really love having them there 🙂 Really loved the idea of using hats in place of art 😀

The wall of our living room was completely filled with hats when I was a kid. My dad had a collection of them, from different countries even. It was also a lot of fun for me and my brothers 🙂
It’s nice. I love the roses!!
I LOVE hats, so I am all about that idea!! How clever and adorable! 🙂
I LOVE this! I have a collection of my grandmother’s vintage hats hat have been sitting in boxes for years…this would be such a great way to display them! And hopefully seeing them everyday would inspire me to try wearing them.
WOW. How easy and amazing is this?? I have so many hats (and random Cinco de Mayo sombreros) shoved in my closet and this is the PERFECT solution! You ladies are geniuses.
So darling! Love the mixing of men and women hats. It would be fun to have a hat from every member of the family! Even little baby fedoras! So cute! 🙂

I’ve done this with bags instead of hats. Convenient and cute!
Where did you get the hat on the top, far right? I LOVE it! I’ve been looking for one of those.

I have hats hanging just like this in my dorm room! I love how they look on the wall, and they get more comments than any of my other decor. I’ll have to post a picture sometime. 🙂

I love this! I have a beautiful and treasured collection of hand fans from my partner and antique ones from his mother. I would love to display them can’t can’t think of and haven’t seen any really chic ways to do this. It’s hard to work with their shape… Does anyone have any tips or examples? TIA
Yayy! An awesome idea to finally arrange my hat somewhat cool 🙂 Thank you!

Such a cute idea! wish i had more hats though to make it happen!
Ha! I just implemented this idea in my bedroom with some gorgeous 50’s hats that I purchased at an auction this past weekend, before you even posted this ;D I adore hats as wall art! They make for such cozy, vintage-y decor.

TOO CUTE! I have lots of hats that I could do this with. How did you attach the hats to the wall? 🙂
Not only attractive and whimsical, but frees up closet space:)
Oh I love this!

I did this with my hats when I had a walk-in closet; they were displayed on the back wall. But my cat kept knocking them off whenever she got up onto the shelves, so that didn’t work out very well. Ha! I hope someday I have a big closet so I can do this again! I love displaying hats.

How did you hang them?
That’s a great idea! We had the same problem in our bedroom and used crocheted scarves. I love bringing th out in the fall and was more than eager to show them off.
really cool way to display heats! 🙂
We had a hat up on our wall to cover up the bell speaker. 😉
I have a straw hat tacked up onto my bedroom wall right now, but I don’t really have enough hats to make a full wall display of them. This is a great look! I have done something similar with empty picture frames too 🙂

Wow! That is a great idea! I too have some hats that haven’t found a permanent home but this is definitely a great option! Thanks!
What a fun idea! I have several great hats that sit all lonely in my closet. Having them out on the wall is great way to display them, and would also entice me to wear hats more.
How do you fix the hats on bed room wall
Really love the idea, but my question is the same as the previous commenter’s: how do you fix them on the wall exactly? Thanks in advance for your answer!
