HEYO!! Since Elsie is on maternity leave this month (yay!), I’m guesting for her on this series to share some of my favorite things lately! I have definitely gotten sucked into Babyland with the birth of my daughter this year and I’ve learned pretty quickly that I find it way more fun shopping for kid things than adult things—everything is extra cute when it’s tiny. It’s definitely been a crazy year so far, but I can’t wait to celebrate Lola’s first Christmas season with her. Even if she has no idea what’s going on, it’s still fun for me to pretend she does!
1. How cute is this wooden nativity set? I would love to get that for Lola to put out next year with her (this year, she would just want to chew on them!). And speaking of wooden toys, these balancing acrobats are one of the cutest things I’ve seen so far!
2. I’ve been all about that pink (faux) fur life this winter. So far, I have a vest (pictured above), a coat, and someday Lola and I are totally going to match our jackets for sure.
3. These plates are perfect for a modern Christmas tablescape.
4. Has anyone else seen the Netflix show Friends From College? I just started watching it randomly because I saw that Keegan-Michael Key is in it (and so is Fred Savage!?) but I ended up loving it … hope there will be more episodes next year!
5. I bought a bunch of disco ball ornaments and put them in a bowl on my coffee table … every morning around 10 a.m. the light hits them and the room looks AWESOME!! Festive and retro—it’s the best of both worlds!
6. These mermaid makeup brushes kill me! Too cute!
7. I would die to have this pink velvet chair in my living room … SO GOOD!
8. Todd and I are kind of obsessed with getting coffee soda from one of our local coffee shops. He doesn’t even like coffee but he’s addicted to the stuff! It’s the best if you put an orange peel in it weirdly enough …
9. I love looking at kids dinnerware—this bear bowl is so sweet!
10. I’ve been switching out some rugs lately and it’s crazy how it makes a room feel so different with just one change. I got this Lorena Canals rug for Lola’s room (It’s washable! So cool!) and I choose the Desert Dawn rug from Arro Home for our front room—both are so pretty!
It’s definitely taking me 10 times longer than usual to decorate for Christmas with a 6-month-old around and this will be our first Christmas staying here in Nashville, so we need to think of a new tradition to add to the ones we grew up with … it will probably involve pizza though if it’s up to me to decide. Pizza totally goes with Christmas, right!?
Happy weekend! xo. Laura

Pizza goes with everything 🙂
I binge watched Friends From College when it first got to Netflix. I loved it. I think it is picked up for season 2, if I remember correctly!
I love your shoes! May I ask who makes/sells them?

As soon as I read the first part of this post I saw (in my mind) Mac & Dennis walking into Paddy’s pub like “HEYO!!” 😀
Always Sunny!!

In Poland it is a tradition to have 12 Christmas eve dinner dishes – so in our family tea, coffee and bread are considered separate dishes too… All in for lazy Christmas!
Such a cool tradition!
Laura 🙂
Unreal fur has matching pink kiddos & adult coats – they’re divine! Australian based 🙂
Still need to buy a faux fur!

May I recommend my family’s Christmas eve tradition for you. We would start with church (that’s optional of course) at 7 PM on Christmas Eve, then drive around singing Christmas carols looking at Christmas lights, then a pizza picnic under the Christmas tree where we were allowed to open one present (miraculously it was always Christmas pajamas)
Hey there! Just so you know the link for the disco ball ornaments goes to emoji key chains. 🙂
Got it! Looks like the other ones sold out, I’ll link new ones, thanks!

Laura, my family’s tradition is to do pizza on Christmas Eve to keep things easy and fun. We love it. Hope you enjoy making new traditions in Nashville!
very beautiful
YAS! i had a fantastic coffee soda at Crema in Nashville while visiting a couple months ago. i was hesitant because it sounded kind of weird with the orange but it was hot out and OMG, so refreshing !!! i’ve never seen it here (I’m in Michigan) so please drink an extra one for me! 😉
