The Lamar fits my needs perfectly. As a 55 yr. old biker with arthritis, I’ve had to give up my Diamondback Wildewood with my darling woven basket and a bell because the handlebars are too low and put too much stress on my bulging cervical disks. The Lamar’s handlebars are perfectly aligned for my “ouchy” neck! I can move my basket over and presto–a 20 year habit is restored!

I’m drawn automatically to the Belmont, but I think the Harrison fits my lifestyle more. I like the idea of the rack on the back. I can attach my grocery basket there. I can also use the bar in the middle for my wine bottle carrier. At first I thought the red too bold for little me, but I think I’d admire the safety quality in being able to be easily seen on it in city traffic.

I love the Rivoli! I have been dreaming about a Mixte bike for quite some time. I can just imagine riding to the farmers market up my street and along the Atlanta Beltline in the fall! π
I have been in love with Public Bikes for a while (since they were first posted on ABM, actually) and I love the 9th Avenue. The cool neutral of the frame is accented by those amazing details that you only see with public, in this case a bright red bell, and leather stitched handlebars. Cruising!

The 9th Avenue takes me back to my dreams of being Dorothy and having a little dog riding in my basket. Today, my golden retriever wouldn’t fit, but books from the local library would. Such a cute bike.
PUBLIC C7 – 9th Avenue. It was the first one on the list and it was also LOVE AT FIRST SIGHT! I would add a metal mesh drop basket in the back to carry groceries home from the farmer’s market.

I’d probably have to go with the Belmont. With all of the hills around where I live I’d definitely need all 16 speeds. π All of the bikes are so lovely. I’d take any of them.

The harrison is definitely my fave. I really like the idea of a girls frame shape but I’ve learned that living in NYC and lugging my bike up and down stairs, I really need a triangle shaped frame that’s easier to carry. Public is soooo good, I’ve been lusting after their bikes (and accessories!) for ages.

At first glance, the Rivoli stole my heart! I live in a region of beautiful rolling hills, and I’d imagine this little lovely would be better at braving them than my current trusty steed. It’s been a fairly reliable workhorse since I was 12 – but being 17 now (and having grown 8 inches), it’s time to retire it! It’s a toss up between Sierra Club and Rivoli – like the color of Sierra Club but I’m a sucker for baskets π
Although each has its own bit of charm, my favorite of the Public Bikes has to be the Belmont edition. Maybe it has a little bit to do with the fact that I currently reside in Belmont Shores in Long Beach, CA…but also because the classic style mixes one part retro and one part urban utility. I can imagine riding this on the beach bike paths or through the crazy city downtown. The front rack also makes it so that I could pack up and bring home any thrifty treasures I may find while out on my ride π

The Sierra Club hands down. That color! I also love the slogan on the side.
Maybe it was the British Racing Green or maybe it was the leather trim? I cannot place the exact moment I fell in love with the classy, functional Bedford. That bike is a dream, and I cannot stop daydreaming about all the lakeside picnics it would take me to and from or the delicious late night live music sessions such a contraption would make that much sweeter.

Holy cooooooow, the 9th Avenue is such a pretty lady! All of the beautiful leather teamed with the intricate stitching of the handle bars make this bike an absolute dream. I love how light and airy the bike looks as well! The basket is so charming and I can picture myself filling it with yummy fresh fruit from the farmer’s market. So soft and lovely!
The Rivoli just made me smile as soon as I saw it. I can see myself biking through a field on it, as cliche as that might sound.

The Sierra Club PUBLIC C7…its green hue, it’s tiny blue, yellow, and green racing stripes…*sigh*. I am having visions of being the coolest teacher in school, riding my new bike and overhearing students say, “That bike is fresh…no…it’s straight crispy,” because this lady and her bike are still crispy π

The best bike is the Harrison! It is the perfect transportation bike. Besides the ever handy rear rack, my next favorite part about this bike is the bell, which is perfect in those awkward situations of people trying to run you off the road! The adorable red color is an extra plus I adore. I have no personal experience with Public bikes, but the Harrison out measures most of all the bikes I have seen in some time! Quite cute!

I add my vote for the Rivoli. I love the look of a mixte frame; it’s hard to come by a nice frame like that! I’m glad public bikes is rockin’ it. The color and all the accessories are just great. I love the tan or white side walls of all the tires they have on the bikes. They sure don’t stay that color for long, (at least mine don’t!) but they look great!
They are all so beautiful I didn’t think I’d be able to choose, but I’ve already fallen in love with the 9th avenue. The perfect colors, the coordinating basket and achingly lovely Brooks saddle – all on that exquisite step-through frame. I’ve done my homework – I’ve been looking for the right bike for over a year – and I recently decided that a Public is exactly what I want. I’m so lucky there’s a store where I live in Brooklyn!
