This week the weather has been nuts! Yesterday I stepped outside in the early morning to go running and was greeted by sleeting rain. I promptly added my thickest coat to my running outfit, hood up and everything! Today I’m wearing sandals and a light jacket. !!!!!!!! Even on the cold days, I’m dreaming of summer vacations, filled with tank tops, swim suits and nerdy beach towels. I need to put together my summer reading list soon. Do you you all have any suggestions? xo. Emma

Love those mugs!
Definitely dreaming of summer here too, I cant wait! I saw a few people wearing shorts here today at the first sight of sun, even though its still freezing cold, about 3 degrees C! I just finished reading my family and other animals by Gerald Durrell, and it was pretty funny and a good dose of sunshine in it!
Michael Pollan is amazing! You have to read ‘In Defense of Food’ if you haven’t yet. So eye opening and he is a fantastic writer 🙂
I love David Sedaris! Good start! You should try poems by Pablo Neruda, they are so whimsical and cute, I just ordered a copy of this:

That ‘nerdy’ beach towel is amazing!

Love this list, especially the dress + mugs! I haven’t read David Sedaris but hear his stuff is great.
I’m just starting “Gone Girl” and am hooked. Definitely recommend, though it’s not a light summer read — try Mindy Kaling’s “Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?” for something to make you smile 🙂
Thanks for sharing!
First of all Emma, love the dress so much and the sandals too. The weather here in SE Pennsylvania has been crazy too. For book recommendations, I would definitely pick up “Pigeons in a crosswalk” by Jack Gray (of CNN). I haven’t started on it yet but I have read nothing but positive reviews on it.
Love the white dress #4!

What wonderful picks. We love #2 (the dress) for summer! http://www.hiddenbaby.com/blogs/baby-blog
I’ve just recently been ”spring wish shopping” myself. I love that bathing suit and those cool mugs. Summer vacations, please come sooner!!!
weather all around has been crazy lately! i like that though, you get to bake warm cakes and drink hot chocolate in wool socks one day and put flowers and have ice cream the next:)
In love with #2, 10 and 11 🙂
I just finished reading “How to be a Woman” by Caitlin Moran and highly reccommend it, she’s hilarious! I’m about to start “The Fault in our Stars” by John Green and have read nothing but amazing reviews of it.

Who is that girl Mo?
Batman beach towel = brilliant!
I know this may sound very stupid but I want to know what program or software you use to create your wishlists. Do you import your pictures into indesign or photoshops?
You had me at #1, 2 & 3 – I die. Can’t wait for warm weather! 🙂
can emma just be my personal shopper? all this stuff is so cute & i adore both david sedaris and nerdy beach towels. :sigh:
Ooo, I like it, and 1,4 are for me the best now.

An awesome read i just finished is Cutting for Stone another is The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver 🙂
Oh my gosh I have a Batman crazy boyfriend and he would go mad for a Bat-logo towel! I’m off to order this for him straight away – there will be a young chap in England soon that is very grateful for this post!!!
gorgeous choices! i love the no. 3 swimwear especially…
For a fun summer reading list I’d really recommend “Breakfast at Tiffany’s” by Truman Capote. Most people I know unfortunately only know it as the movie, and they miss out on so much by not reading the novella! I’d also recommend anything by Agatha Christie, she truly is the greatest crime writer ever. “5 Little Pigs” (or in the US “Murder in Retrospect”?)is one of my personal faves.
enjoy!
I adore that swimsuit! Any novels by John Green and Markus Zusak are amazing 🙂

Oh my goodness, that is a great wishlist!! Things I never thought about and now I want! 😉 Love all the black and white! <3 <3
I’m going to see Michael Pollan speak in Milwaukee – and will get a signed copy of his new book! Yippee! I really enjoy his writing.
I think you’d enjoy Falling in Love for Life by Barbara Cooper. I found it on Anthropologie’s website. Barbara is 93 year old woman who shares advice and wisdom from her 73 year marriage to her husband Harry. It’s a heart warmer. Perfect engaged summer reading 🙂
What a surprise to see the Design House Stockholm mugs on the blog! I have the same without handles – definitely worth the money. They’re my favorites and make me happy each morning while sipping my coffee.
Cute bikini! Love the batman towel too!

I love the bikini! Check out my spring wish list: http://meggiieee.blogspot.co.uk/ Thanks:)
Those sneakers are awesome! I like the idea of the chunky wedge sneaker that everyone’s wearing, but this is a much more manageable/flattering shape for more people. And it’s affordable! Great find!
Oh I love those mugs!

I’m reading Swamplandia and it feels warm.
Weather has been crazy every where it seems. We had a rainy cool day and then it was awfully hot the next.
I want everything on that list too.
I’m really loving Game of Thrones as a book to read! 🙂
The Divergent books by Veronica Roth are fantastic, if you like dystopian young adult novels. Like the Hunger Games except the story gets better with each book.
I’ve been eying those shoes from Modcloth too!
I’ve been reading all of Agusten Burroughs’ memoirs, they are great!

I give you big (actually huuuge) credit for putting on a raincoat instead of sneaking back inside and cuddling up on the couch! Davd Sedaris is one of my favorites. Check out my blog for my favorite books (http://www.lolos-pinch-of-happiness.blogspot.com/2013/02/lauras-favorites-books.html) Number three is definitely a Spring/Summer book!
I love the batman towel, I have owned one that looks exactly like yours. I bought it in Barcelona a couple of years ago and it is still with me!

No suggestions on the summer reading list, but I hear you about the weather! It was tough when I took the dogs out yesterday morning with no jacket on, just to realize how cold and windy it was! I love those adorable mugs!
Nice selection !!

Two book suggestions. 1) The Summer We Read Gatsby by Danielle Ganek and 2) The Basic Eight by Daniel Handler

Definitely read “The Fault In Our Stars” by John Green and “The Dinner” by Herman Koch!
“let the great world spin” by collumn mccann! incredibly beautiful and moving.
REDSHIRTS by John Scalzi.
It’s hilarious, geeky, and the perfect length for a quick summer read. It’s also a NYT best-seller, so you don’t have to just trust my judgement.
Love the coffee mugs!
Love the black and white dress and the sneaks!!

Dave Sedaris is hilarious! I love hearing him featured on This American Life.
your picks are so awesome.
Boy Kings of Texas by Domingo Martinez. It reminded me of David Sedaris. I read it on the beach in Thailand and was laughing out loud/crying simultaneously. A must read!
Taylor
Oh man, I love the lace dress from Ruche!
These mugs surely would be a good DIY!
That swimsuit is amazing! Good Job Target and great taste Emma!!

Fantastic picks! I’ve been in the market for a new swimsuit for our trip to Spain in a month, and that one is adorable! I just may check it out 🙂
Michael Pollan is one of my favorite writers, I’m looking forward to this release! Also about to read The Drunken Botantist, by Amy Stewart.
David Sedaris is a GREAT start. I’m dying to read his latest.
Emma, “Before I go to sleep”, S.J. Watson is a superb psychological thriller!!

i like the shoes n 1 ND N 11. SO COOL!! CONGRATULATION FOR YOUR BLOG IS REALLY NICE. MANY KISSES FROM ROME.http://honeyandcotton.wordpress.com/
HOLY TOWEL BATMAN! This would pair well with my Souxsie and the Banshee’s T-Shirt. (If you know this reference I love you forever, if not I still love you but look up Batman Returns – the 1992 one).
Melinda
I recently bought that bathing suit top and some yellow bottoms, super cute! The only thing is that the strap for the halter is super short…
oh yeah david sedaris!! great list! =)
I am in LOVE with that bikini! Ah – so gorgeous! I just found this blog and LOVE it! Thanks!

Alice Munro! Her short stories are the best. I love reading short stories, especially on a lazy day at the beach.
There’s also a Swedish author I would like to recommend, Karin Tidbeck. Her collection of short stories ‘Jagannath Stories’ is available in English, and they are just so weird and absurd and strange and mesmerizing and unlike anything else I’ve ever read. Think Alice in Wonderland. Think Edgar Allan Poe. Think… I don’t know what. Just read!
I suggest John Green, The Fault in Our Stars. He’s a really great write. Also, the Beautiful Creatures series! I’m addicted!
love the white dress!

This is a great list!:)

I love that swimsuit! It’s on my “clothes to buy when I have money again” list.
You and I must have a similar reading list… both books are on my wishlist. 🙂
That bathing suit is so cute! I think I have to make a trip to Target soon!
This was one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
