Almost every year, around Easter time, I make a big batch of candy bark. As if this season needs any more candy! I pretty much change up the batch every time, adding whatever I have on hand or whatever I'm into that year flavor-wise. I was digging around the archives and found this post where I shared a candy bark recipe. I also have very, very blond hair in that post. π
This year I wanted to make something colorful and then something that combined salty and sweet. For my colorful candy bark I used white chocolate accented with sprinkles, dots and gummy bears! To satisfy my salty sweet craving I made candy bark from dark chocolate with potato chips. I love dark chocolate and potato chips! I added gold sprinkles for glamour. To make all you have to do is melt the chocolate, either on the stove top or in the microwave. Pour it onto a plate or tray lined with wax paper. And then sprinkle on the goods. Let the chocolate set (to speed up the process you can pop the whole thing in the refrigerator or freezer).
Also, that's not my hand adding sprinkles. That's Trey's hand trying to steal a chip. What a little thief.Once the chocolate has hardened break the bark up into manageable pieces. Try to evenly distribute candies within every bite. You can store candy bark in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. Or you can wrap it in little gift bags and pass them out to office friends or family members.Yum! The potato chip candy bark is best eaten the first day it's made. If you do store them be sure to keep them free of moisture or too much open air. You don't want the chips to get soggy or stale. What about you? Do you have any special foods or treats you always make this time of year? Happy Holidays! xo. Emma
P.S. Want more salty sweet? Try potato chip brownies or this sweet and salty dessert table.

I’m not a huge candy/gummy fan, but I do love chocolate, especially when there is a salty element to it (sea salt chocolate is my favorite).
Mmmm.. I am really going to try this!
I highly recommend whipping up some dark chocolate peppermint bark – you can crush up candy canes (or any type of mint-y hard candy if it’s not around Christmas) and throw in a few drops of peppermint oil. It’s SO good!
That looks amazing!!! I wonder what it would taste like if you put pop rocks on there π
I am making that chocolate and potato chip bark like…as soon as I get home haha.
The chocolate and crisps one looks yummy! (I am from the uk originally so they are crisps not chips!)

I loveeeee peppermint bark!!! I know it’s just chocolate with candy on top but I never think to make it myself. But that potato chip bark I just gotta try. Thanks for the inspiration!
My grandkids love Resurrection Cookies for Easter. The story of the cookies goes along with the recipe.
“Resurrection Cookies”
This is a great recipe to teach your Children the REAL story of Easter. That the Lord Jesus Christ our Savior is not dead but has Risen. We serve a Risen Savior……This activity can be done as a “family” or for Sunday School. Of course the Sunday School option might be to hand it out to the class with a note to the parents. Grandparents might considering doing this with their grandchildren this year too!!!
You will need:
1 cup whole pecans
1 teaspoon vinegar
3 egg whites
a pinch salt
1 cup sugar
a zipper baggy
1 wooden spoon
scotch tape
Bible
Instructions:
These are to be made the evening before Easter. Preheat oven to 300F.
*** (this is very important — don’t wait until you are half done with the recipe).
Place pecans in zipper baggy and let children beat them with the wooden spoon to break into small pieces. Explain that after Jesus was arrested, He was beaten by the Roman soldiers. Read: John 19:1-3
Let each child smell the vinegar. Put 1 tsp vinegar into mixing bowl. Explain that when Jesus was thirsty on the cross He was given vinegar to drink. Read: John 19:28-30
Add egg whites to vinegar. Eggs represent life. Explain that Jesus gave His life to give us life. Read: John 10:10&11
Sprinkle a little salt into each child’s hand. Let them taste it and brush the rest into the bowl. Explain that this represents the salty tears shed by Jesus’ followers,
and the bitterness of our own sin. Read: Luke 23:27
So far the ingredients are not very appetizing. Add 1 c. sugar. Explain that the sweetest part of the story is that Jesus died because He loves us. He wants us to know and belong to Him. Read: Psalm 34:8 and John 3:16
Beat with a mixer on high speed for 12 to 15 minutes until stiff peaks are formed.
Explain that the color white represents the purity in God’s eyes of those whose sins have been cleansed by Jesus. Read: Isaiah 1:18 and John 3:1-3
Fold in broken nuts. Drop by teaspoon onto waxed paper covered cookie sheet.
Explain that each mound represents the rocky tomb where Jesus’ body was laid.
Read: Matthew 27:57-60
Put the cookie sheet in the oven, close the door and turn the oven OFF.
Give each child a piece of tape and seal the oven door.
Explain that Jesus’ tomb was sealed. Read: Matthew 27:65-66
GO TO BED!
Explain that they may feel sad to leave the cookies in the oven overnight. Jesus’ followers were in despair when the tomb was sealed. Read: John 16:20&22
On Resurrection Sunday (Easter) morning, open the oven and give everyone a cookie. Notice the cracked surface and take a bite. The cookies are hollow! On the first Easter, everyone was amazed to find the tomb open and empty. Read: Matthew 28:1-
ooooh how delicious! I am not much of a baker (but do love sweet treats) so this is PERFECT!

I love doing this with almonds or any kind of nut as well.
Fantastic!!! Think I will have to make these with the kids.
Looks good and so easy to make. I’ll have to try that. We don’t have any special treats every year, we just love chocolate and cakes and cupcakes … it never gets boring.
looks cute. it’s a bummer the ingredients are all nutritionally horrible for us.
i’m still waiting for you to work with natural, whole ingredients! vanilla beans, real cacao, raw desserts. it’s the newest trend in food and seems to be your style!=)
thisrawesomeveganlife.com just posted a cake that i think will inspire anyone. just fruit, nuts and coconut oil. gorgeous and healthy to boot!
