Since releasing our Blog (Design) Love e-course, Elise and I have been amazed with some of the beautiful designs students of the course have created! Here are a few of our favorites and their thoughts about the e-course…
Tilly of Tilly And The Buttons used our e-course to create custom archive pages, Learn To Sew and Make A Mathilde Blouse. Here's what she says about the e-course, "The Blog (Design) Love course guided me through the huge job of rethinking the look and structure of my blog, making what could have been a daunting task fun and appealing. In particular, I love how the course helped me present my Learn To Sew tutorials and digital instructions for my sewing pattern in a clean, accessible and enticing style. I'm in love with the result!"Laura of The Band Wife used Blog (Design) Love to set up her brand new blog. We are so impressed with her design! Here's what she has to say, "As a new blogger, the Blog (Design) Love course was a lifesaver! The lessons helped me to thoughtfully conceptualize the look and feel I wanted for my blog and showed me how to implement those design choices. The course made the technical steps of blog design easy for beginners to understand, and saved me hours of searching the web for answers. I LOVED this course!"
Our pal Mallory of Mallory Makes Things used the course to learn more about coding. People often ask if the course is still worth it if you already know your way around Photoshop. Our answer is always yes. Here's what Mallory says about the e-course, "A few months ago I wanted to make some changes to my blog. I'm know the graphic side of design, but I needed help with html and layout. In Blog (Design) Love Elise makes the html super simple for the changes I did, like adding a better nav bar. Elsie clearly explains the steps for making a sitemap that lets readers easily explore. I'm also excited to finish my photo archives with the course's help soon!"
We love the design that Amanda of Apples And Green created. It's personal and so well styled. Here's what Amanda has to say, "Blog (Design) Love is the best class I've taken online, it helped me establish a really solid design story for my blog. I had some vague ideas that I wanted to put in place, but the sessions in Blog (Design) Love gave me practical exercises to edit these ideas and then implement them. I particularly loved the Photoshop tips for designing specific blog elements, and having coding instructions right there for easy reference. I absolutely recommend the class to anyone planning to give their blog a makeover. It made a huge difference to my approach!"
Elise and I have been blown away by the response to this course! If you are interested in creating your own blog design, but don't know where to start, consider checking out Blog (Design) Love. If you've used this e-course to create your own design, leave us a link in the comments! We would love to take a look. Thanks so much! Elsie

I completely redesigned my blog using your course. I would high recommend the course. It’s easy to follow and I love the way my blog looks now and I’m proud to say I was able to do it myself. Thanks Elsie & Elise!

Hearing from a friend about this course, I followed it even though I already knew my way around photoshop and still learned so much! I used it on my blog: http://www.alwaysrooney.com
We used and adored the Blog Love and Blog Design Love ecourses when planning our new blog The Junk Drunk: a lifestyle blog celebrating slow living and focusing on antiques, food and design. I hope you like it!
These designs are awesome! And I could totally use this course. In fact, my wheels have been spinning for a while on where on earth to start with my blog! It needs an overhaul. I’m going to look into the course. 🙂
I used this course to overhaul our website in December – I have always loved blogging and have been an avid blog reader for years. I decided to stop doing what everyone else in our industry was doing and follow my gut. Our site would not be as pretty and user friendly without your course!!
Since overhauling we have doubled our views, our returning readers jumped from 60% to 80% and we now even get new members because of the site. You can see more here: http://aledafitness.com/
Thanks!!

All your students’ blogs are gorgeous! Thanks for sharing them with us! I’ll be sure to come back and visit some of them on a regular basis.
I have followed tilly and the buttons for a while now, but had no idea her blog design was from you! All of these blogs look so good.
I just bought it this morning! I can’t wait to work on it!
Yeah I took it up but because of crazy deadlines I have only dived into it in the last couple of days. I am still in the creative process of gathering visual inspiration etc. Can’t wait to get started!

I used “Blog (Design) Love” to create my blog design! I just wanted it to be super clean and cohesive, not too cluttered. I’m in love and so glad that the e-course helped me design my navigation bar, among other things! You can see it here: http://laurengotablog.blogspot.com/
I’m so happy with the way it turned out!! xoxoxo

I So want to take that course! Next on the list!
Good work you al! 🙂
Ah! Yes! Love all of these and am so thankful for Blog Design Love and how it prompted the redesign on my blog too! Thanks Elsie and Elise!
Love your blog and all you posts. Thanks so much for this one, I navigated to Tilly and the Buttons and am lost in her learn to sew tutorials. I have just gotten my first sewing machine and these tutorials are so informative.
I used the e-course and loved it! I am a super SUPER beginner when it comes to blog design and html, but the course was really detailed and easy to understand. I’m still working on my design, but am pretty pleased at what I’ve been able to accomplish on my own so far!
Natalie 🙂
I applied to the “Blog (Design) love” this week-end. Received the links and all…..I am waiting to finish a project I am working on right now with dead lines to meet before digging into it!!
But I keep looking at the link and am soooo tempting to just start it right away!!!
I am already a photoshop user, I am currently working as a video editor and I have been wanting to start my blog. I tried few years ago with zero knowledge and realized soon enough that I had no idea where I wanted to go with it. A total disaster!!! Yet an experience I learned from…that’s why I am exited to start again with such inspirational peeps like you to make me feel stronger. Merci merci merci !
i used your course for http://www.ladiesinnavy.com and it was absolutely amazing! see my featured posts at the bottom? all you! it also led me to hand illustrate some of my banner and my entire background.
🙂 love that you guys released it for a low cost. i told all of my friends.
kw, http://www.ladiesinnavy.com
these are so cute, going to check out their blogs now!
I’m so thrilled with my blog design, and totally flattered you liked it so much you featured it today! There were so many tricks and lightbulb moments for me as I worked through the course, I whole heartedly recommend it. Thanks so much Elsie & Elise! xoxo

These look great! I also did your Blog (Design) Love ecourse recently and applied it to my combined website and blog for my stationery label truthbetold http://www.truthbetold.com.au/
The course was really easy to follow and I was able to make changes that I have been wanting to for a long time but didn’t know how to. The more techical lessons were particularly helpful in creating my press pages. Thank you so much Elsie & Elise for your great course!
Is it recommended if you only use Photoshop Elements and don’t have CSS?
Fascinating – I have followed Tilly and the buttons for ages and noticed that she had been revamping the look, I was really impressed with it – I had no idea she had done your course, but now I know it really makes me wonder if I should do it as there are lots of things she has changed that I would love to know how to do … Very interesting, if only I could conjure up a few extra hours each day!! X
Nan- Yes, Elements is perfectly fine. Check out the Blog (Design) Love FAQ here: http://abeautifulmess.com/2012/11/blog-design-love-qa.html
cool might have to look into the blog design e-course so more 🙂

I am still working out a few things and am getting my archives working right NOW, but I would love you to check it out! 🙂 http://lizzyinthekitchen.typepad.com
Hi Elsie and Elise!!! Thank you so much for creating Blog(Design)Love. I have to show you what I created with the help of your e-course. Here is the link to my blog: http://www.alwaysfashiongirl.com This is the link to my very first post where I talk about Blog (Design) Love: http://www.alwaysfashiongirl.com/2012/12/summer-inspiration-dress-denim-jacket.html
Thank you so much! xoxo Rimma
Elsie & Emma!
This post has totally inspired me to sign up for this course. I have very recently started a blog and still have so much to learn. I have lots of ideas and no idea of how to execute them. I am currently in grad school full-time. Do you guys think I could manage the e-course while taking class and doing homework? I’m wrapped up in that for maybe 60 hours a week. If the e-course takes a lot of extra time, I may wait until after I graduate in May! Either way, I’m definitely going to take one (or some) of your courses in the future! Thanks for creating such a lovely resource!

This is so neat how you guys are sharing these stories. What an inspiration and we are now convinced to try out this class! Thanks for sharing! Xo, M&K at BT
Tyler Anne also took your e-course and redesigned our blog http://www.chasingthere.com, and I think it’s beautiful! I LOVE these blogs featured here too, especially the Band Wife because I’m about to be one of those. 🙂
Great job, everyone!
We learned a lot from this course and we are still learning more! Our goal in the next couple months is to make an archives page. Our blog is brand new, so we wanted to wait until we had some actual content. Thanks for a great class!!
Loved this course! I’ve been a blogger for a long time and it was still amazingly inspiring. Anyone who is on the fence should take the leap!

really great!

I’m taking your advice and not rushing into the blog. designing it one step at a time is truly the best! I actually plan on taking the blog love course before I fully launch my blog 🙂
I definitely purchased this e-course and learned so much! It was just the inspiration I needed to do the redesign!
Check out the site: http://www.chasingthere.com
i’m definitely planning on taking blog design love! thanks for sharing the stories of your students 🙂
Great and very interesting post. Thanks!
Aw they all look so wonderful!! I used your design course to re-vamp some of my course… I found the coding parts really helpful and incredibly easy to adapt to what I needed them for!
Well done ladies!
Apples and Green is really cute 🙂 x
I really like your blog. Is creative and so original. I always find something great and inspiring. You girls make a perfect job. Have a nice day.

I just finished both the Blog (Love) Course and the Blog design course. BOTH are FANTASTIC! I learned SO very much and could not be more excited for what is ahead. Thank you for such a great course for such an affordable price!

I love how their blogs came out! I’m seriously considering the course now, thanks!

it’s amazing..

I am currently in the thick of things with the Blog Design course, but have also taken the Blog Love course and found both to be extremely helpful. I have thoroughly enjoyed both and learned a lot!

I love, love, loved your course, and I was able to completely redo my site thanks to all the amazing insider tips on design and coding. There is so much goodness packed into your course, that there are still things on my redesign to-do list (like custom footer and archive page), but thanks to your course now I have the tools to make those changes! Thanks so much Elsie and Elise for putting together such an incredible course. It’s so empowering! http://www.notmerelyliving.com
definitely want to take this e course! thank you for sharing.
ps, completely in love with The Band Wife blog! glad you posted it!

I took the blog design course, and I’m so happy with where my blog is at now 🙂 I learned a lot, and was also happy to find that I already knew how to do a lot of the coding, just hadn’t really realized it! I learned so much, I love your classes! 🙂
You can see my design here:

Thanks for your excellent classes! I took them both and then recommended them to a friend & my mom (who also took them). Blog Love was the catalyst to starting my blog and I will be using all the amazing info in Blog Design Love to do all the customization. You are amazing and inspiring and I am so thankful that you chose to share all your insight and tips for us new bloggers. Customization Makeover coming to my blog soon!
I was debating whether or not to take this course, but after seeing these results of these GORGEOUS blogs i’m determined to get photoshop and buy this class!!
I’m so excited now! I’ve been wanting to make my blog a lot more professional! Can’t wait now!! Thank you for making it so affordable!!

I bookmarked the course because I wanted to check it out. I noticed it’s not for wordpress.org users. Will it ever be available to .org users in the future?
Would love one for wordpress.org sites! This is pretty much exactly what I’m looking for, but don’t want a blogspot site.
I have a question. You say the Blog design love course is for wp.com, not wp.org. Then you say that the course does not change existing themes. I’m und the impression that i always have to choose a theme. Is there an option to build it from scratch? #littlebitconfused
I’ve been intrigued by this ecourse (and the Blog Love course as well!) and these responses are making me want to do it even more! Perhaps on my next paycheck. So glad you showed Tilly and the Buttons blog, also – I recently got a sewing machine but was overwhelmed by it & her Learn to Sew series seems like it’s just what I need 🙂
The Blog (Design) Love course was so easy to follow, even for me, starting with absolutely ZERO photoshop or HTML knowledge. I refer back to it freqently as I continue to add features and tweak the design of my blog.
Thank you Elsie & Elise x 1,000!

I recently started ready your blog elsie and emma and it is fabulous! Its funny because I am a 40 something woman and I feel like most women at this age think they can no longer be girly, fun and creative. Well I am here to tell you that is not true and I’m proof of that! Thank you for always having such great tips on all of the things I love. I am in the process of putting ideas together for a blog of my own. I have read through all of your e-course options and will be taking a couple of them as I weed through this new and exciting form of creativity! I am not very tech savey so I am really excited about your more technical e-courses. Thanks again and wish me luck!
Does anyone know if you can use the course to update a blog you currently write? I’d LOVE to take this class but I don’t want to start a brand new blog during the lessons and would rather use what I’ve already got.
Eep! Thank you so much for featuring my blog, it’s made my day 🙂 Off to check out those other blogs now, they look fab!
I’m so glad people are enjoying this Ecourse! One of my goals for my blog this year is to commit to posting 3 times a week, preferably MWF. It’s doable for me as long as I stay organized! I made a deal (with myself, ha!) that if I continually post 3 times a week from Jan-June, I will buy this Ecourse!! So far, I’m doing well and can’t wait for June 🙂
Quick question about the course – I’m assuming the Photoshop tips are for actual Photoshop and not Photoshop Elements? I have PSE 10, and I’d love to try this course but I’m not sure I’ll be able to use all their tips with what I have. Can anyone provide insight into this? Thanks!
This is great! I was thinking this week that you guys should do this. I also took the e-course and loved it. I am still working on my blog because I have a full time job. but I love it so far. check it out http://thefoldingchair.typepad.com
Thank you for the e-course!
I loved the course and found it so helpful! I had been wanting to overhaul my blog for sometime but had no idea where to start with html or photoshop. The course led me through the whole design process and I’m so pleased with the final outcome! Completely recommend it to anyone considering redesigning their blog.
Wow, I totally wanted to do this course before but this fuels me on more, if only I could find the cash…
http://in-ternal.blogspot.co.uk/
Ah! I’m so bummed I didn’t send you my blog design experience earlier, but OH MY I loved it (and my blog thanks you)! I love having a archive navigation bar. It makes my blog experience so fun!
Here it is: http://lovelywordsofpam.blogspot.com.au/
Thanks so much, Emma and Elsie!!
Those are all great looking blogs! I have taken two of your courses and I was able to apply them to both of my blogs in some way or another – http://www.mylifeinblogyears.com/, and http://www.prettyshinyobject.com/. I often refer back to the courses when I am needing some inspiration for my blogs. I use a different platform than what was talked about in your Blog Design Love course, but I was still able to produce a nice looking archive page. Thanks a bunch!
I absolutely love this course (still working my way through the transformation of my blog). And it is so much fun to see how the same course/tool has impacted very different blogs. Love the inspiration!
I am highly considering taking one or both of the blog related courses you are offering, but I have a question. If I do not yet have Photoshop, is it worth taking the Blog Design course? Will I still be able to implement new designs and techniques into my blog without having Photoshop? Photoshop is something I have in hopes for the future, but have yet to get. I’d love some feedback if anyone has any regarding this. Thanks so much! I LOVE your blog and look forward to learning from you.
Hi Mindy,
There would definitely be some sessions you wouldn’t be able to complete without Photoshop. Adobe does offer 30 free trials of Photoshop though! This could be a good substitute if you wanted to take the e-course now, and review it again if you do decide to purchase Photoshop in the future.
Thanks!
Kinsey

I Loved this course SO.MUCH. I spent a whole weekend redesigning my blog; the colors, banner, archives, pages! the only thing I still didn’t do is add a profile picture x_x I have taken Blog Love last summer when I was preparing myself to start blogging and I loved that too <3 I'm a fan of your blog and life style. visiting your blog is part of my day now 🙂
I bought this course at the end of December but have been so busy with moving, starting a new jewelry business and editing clients’ wedding photos that I haven’t had the chance to dive in yet. This post really makes me want to get off my keester and shake a leg. Thanks for the nudge! ♥
In the course description, you mention WordPress. Will this course be good for Blogspot users?
Thanks for the great article..
I finished up my blog design this week and love how it turned out. Thanks so much for putting this course together – I could not have done it without your help!

This course was so much fun! And I love th sence of acomplishment when managing to do something you didn’t know how to do earlier. Here’s what I did with what I learned:
http://lifeinyonder.blogspot.no/2013/02/redesigning-my-blog.html
I used Blog (Design) Love for my new Blog, and found it so easy to use. It gave me some great ideas for future features and the html knowledge to implement what I pictured. 😀
I launched it today!! So Thankyou very much Elise and Elsie!
