Over the weekend I started a new project… Project Life. If you've read my blog for a long time (and I mean a REALLY long time) you might know that in my early twenties I designed scrapbooking projects and taught scrapbooking workshops for a living. And then one day, I quit. I was seriously burned out and tired of having SO much stuff. I seriously had a whole room in my apartment full of scrapbooking supplies. I knew that when I got back into the hobby, I wanted to take a more simple approach that was mostly based on photographs.
Enter, Project Life. I first heard about project life when my friends Elise and Ali started using it to document their daily lives last year. I ordered a bunch of supplies and then kept them in a box all year. I am one of those people who can't do anything halfway. As the months passed by, I got more and more anxious to just start. So, this weekend I started. I didn't do any planning. I just set aside an afternoon, got out all the supplies I had been hoarding and made a bunch of random pages. And you know what… it was SO FUN. I love the simplicity of the photo pockets (most of the designs only call for photos in two sizes—yay!), the mostly photo aesthetic and the minimal supplies needed. Here's peek at my first few pages…This page goes right before our first anniversary. I really wanted to try a confetti design with acrylic paint. For these pages I added the type to the top two images before printing them. This will be the opening page for our 2013 book. For this page, I had fun making some quick designs with my tablet for extra cards. I love the vibe of handwriting mixed with photos.Supplies I used: Project Life Pocket Pages (Design A,C,E,F), You're My Favorite Stamp, Seafoam Kit, Seafoam Binder, Rolling Stamp, Alphabet Stamps and Neon Painters Tape.
Have you tried Project Life? Is it something you would be interested in? If you've already been making your own books, leave me a link so I can check them out! xo. Elsie

This is making me super happy.
This is the pretties thing I have ever seen. Period.
WOW!! Love this so much. Especially the contrast of black and white against the colorful pages.

Oh wow, Elsie, it’s AMAZING! I also do Project Life (2nd year) and I can already tell yours will be so, so inspiring! I hope you keep posting updates 🙂
LOVE!
I’m so excited that you are doing project life!!! I love love love it. I’m doing it for the 3rd year this year. Year one I just used it as a baby book for my baby born in January. Last year I did all 52 weeks for the whole family. And this year I’m doing the same. I’m terrible about posting my spreads on the blog, but here are a few of them: http://thiscameratellsmystory.blogspot.com/search/label/project%20life
I havent even heard of Project life so thank you for sharing it. It looks wonderful and i am always looking at ways to document photos and memories for my two girls to have when they get older. I am in love with the picture of you both with the polka dots.

I just started doing Project Life this month, and I have LOVED it so far! I got started after reading Elise’s blog and feeling super inspired. I adore your layouts- so very fun and creative. I hope you continue to share new pages with us as you go!
XO,
Anna
Like everything you do Elsie, your album amazing!! So excited you are doing project life. Looking forward to seeing more pages from you!!
This is awesome. Such a neat project Elsie!
Cute! A modern twist on scrap-booking.
wow… this looks SO good…

I love the simplicity of this project, it looks so easy to do! Having tangible memories is definitely something I adore. For example, I recently made and bound my own art journal about the year 2012! I’m really proud of it, but it was a lot of work and doing something simpler this year sounds refreshing. 🙂 I’ve actually been thinking about a 3-ring binder style journal, kind of like your Project Life!
Here’s a link to my art journal, if you’re interested:

I’ve wanted to do this so badly for ages!! I just do t have the money to do it right now 🙁 maybe in the future I could look into it a bit more, yours looks awesome by the way x
I started Project Life in January and I’m loving it. Such a great way to document your life. I love your design Elsie. it’s very you! I’m going to be sharing my scrapbook later this week on my blog.

This is a dream come true…being inspired by you doing Project Life!! I can’t wait to see more! I’ve been doing PL for just over a year now and I LOVE it, the process is exactly what I needed to document our family life. You can check out my pages here: http://www.icreatewithlove.blogspot.com/
So super cute! And I’m slightly jealous at how great this looks!

BEAUTIFUL.
awww… I simply love your approach and I totally understand what you mean about having a lot of supplies! I am struggling with that too…. I had to give away/sell a lot of them before I left Malaysia to come to US and now that I’m here, I am having a hard time controlling on my purchases… they are starting to build up again… LOL. Am doing my best to keep my supplies minimum and use up my stash as fast as possible! 🙂
I started PL this year too 🙂 you can check them out at my blog 🙂

hugs!
I really need to start something like this, it looks absolutely beautiful
Wow, this is such a cute idea, good way to hold on to memories. I love the color pops on the black and white photos!

Yes!! Not to sound creepy, but I’ve been reading your blog for about 7 years now and I’ve missed your scrapbooking! I started PL a year ago and love it. So excited to see your book grow 🙂
Amazing album! Your photos are just beautiful. This is my second year doing Project Life and I LOVE IT!

That is so interesting, I have seen people doing a family yearbook that is similar but that is so cool looking!
thanks for the new ideas!

Not fair that The Lord gave ALL of the creativity to ONE woman.
Love your book so far, the page with the painted confetti is gorgeous!
Wow! I’m so happy you’re scrapbooking again! This made my day!! 😀 😀 😀
I love everything about this. Definitely interested in making my own!
http://sierrabritton.blogspot.com/
I absolutely love your approach to project life!! I was also thinking about getting started with it because I liked the idea of documenting everyday life in an easy, simple and relatively quick way, but project life (designed by Becky Higgins to actually uncomplicate the documenting everyday life thing) got taken over more and more by the scrapbooking industry and got complicated again, with all the embellishing and planning and stuff.. so I really like seeing someone doing it the way it was kinda planned to be – simple and easy 🙂 I really hope to see more of your project life pages, it’s really inspiring! 🙂
I’m not much of a scrapbooker but this is beautiful and lovely 🙂

I haven’t heard of this before but love it! I never liked the idea of how much stuff scrapbooking takes, but this is really minimal yet awesome! And it doesn’t seem all that time consuming.
Love your pages – and LOL – I found some of your fabric papers the other day when I was looking through my stash and have used them in this week’s PL spread 😉 Can’t wait to see your pages – what an inspiration they will be :)))
I use those large pockets split into 4! I love how it looks in the folder as a statement photo! Really pleased to have more inspiration for filling in my folder now!
I am one of those people who have followed you FOREVER… back when the blog had a black background and a different site.
Love the project! I, too, have not touched my scrapbooking for quite some time; maybe this Project Life business is the proverbial kick-in-the-pants I need to get going again. (Cuz there are WAAAAY too many photos on my laptop.)
Btw, I just used some of the sticky=back cloud fabric you designed for a baby shower project this past weekend. 🙂
What a wonderful idea – I am SO doing this!!!

I’ve been thinking of jumping on the Project Life train. It seems so simple. I’ve got a bajillion pictures that I haven’t done anything with yet because scrapbooking is just so much work. Anyway, I love your pages. Thanks for sharing and giving me some inspiration to start my own.
I am so excited that you are doing Project Life! I love Becky’s simple approach to documenting memories and love Ali Edwards Project Life. I plan on starting mine soon after I get all my photos printed out.
I am hoping you will one day design a core kit for Becky Higgins – your creativity and design would create an amazing core kit!
It’s so cool that you know Ali Edwards. I met her years ago when I used to intern for her husband when I was in college. It’s such a small world!!
I just love the Project life! There is a lovely blogger called Pink Ronnie who also does this! I keep promising myself to start this but alas I never do. Maybe next week I’ll start!!
Oh wow this is fantastic. You have done an amazing job. I find it really inspiring, I have wanted to do some scrapbooking for ages but didn’t know how to start, but you have obviously brought a really creative and fun approach to your book and it turned out great.
That is a really beautiful and creative project. You’re so talented! 🙂
I don’t have (yet) the habbit of taking lots of pictures, but I’ll maybe do something like that one day. Thanks for the idea. 🙂

How are you a “novice” with such awesome pages already?!
Love the vibe!
We print PL. let me know if you’ve got ?’s about archival printing.
Really nice! Love your blog 🙂 xoxo
I have followed you since your days of popping up in Creating Keepsakes. I have also evolved in my memory keeping and have been doing project life for 3 years. I am really excited to follow your posts on PL to gain inspiration. I am big fan of your work!
This is super cute! I love the idea that it’s not as much WORK as scrapbooking can be. I used to love scrapbooking but life has gotten so busy that I just can’t spend the same amount of time creating a page or two. This actually seems manageable to get done!
Elsie, this is absolutely amazing! You are so inspiring!
lots of love,
Lena

Such a beautiful spread of photos. Definitely saving for inspiration. I love the mixtures of photos, colors, and prints.
My goodness this is soooo super CUTE Elsie. I love it! You’re so clever 🙂
i always enjoy seeing your scrapbooking or art journaling pages dear elsie. yes, i’ve been following your blog from way back then. the papers you designed were fabulous. i have your old book, which i still find inspirational. also, i was recently looking at your blog posts from 2010 when you were doing all that painting. oh my goodness. it was awesome to see your art! 🙂
This is amazing, Elsie! Such a gorgeous alternative to scrapbooking the way we’ve all come to think of it. I have harbored some “I don’t scrapbook” guilt for a long time, because I’ve just never really gotten it. It always seemed like a lot of STUFF and not a lot of the stuff that matters most to me.
But this. This is brilliant. Thanks for being so inspiring!
Love this idea, it’s a shame i can’t get such good quality photo’s for my own project, any suggestions anyone?
Looks great! Started doing PL last year and enjoyed the process so much. Decided to blog about my 2013 experience here:
http://lifeinpictures2013.tumblr.com/
Really looking forward to seeing your work with this project:-)
I used to be such a scrapbooker too, Creative Memories to be exact! But it got incredibly overwhelming, and always having to make it so intricate.. I haven’t scrapbooked in years and am left with boxes of photos just sitting, waiting to be touched.
But, I just love this whole project life idea/concept! I will definitely take a peek into it and see what it’s about. // Love that acrylic paint idea.
xo
I have missed seeing your layout inspirations, its been so long! I still have some paper left from your Love Elsie lines!
So happy that you are doing project life! Its my second year doing Project Life and I have the Seafoam kit too!
I’ve always wanted to do one of these, but I’ve never found the time or perfect supplies.
This summer I think I’m going to start on.
I love the anniversary photos with confetti dots!
I am beyond excited to see your PL pages (I’m one of those long, long-time readers who remembers the old scrapbook days). I’ve followed Ali’s for years, and Elise’s last year. I’m in the midst of my second year, and love it. Wait till you fill up even a quarter of the book and can flip through so many pages, you will be even happier with what you have.
This is such a beautiful book!
I would love to start one!
http://aclotheslook.com
I love all of your creativity!
The pages look FAB-U-LOUS! So good…
How adorable is this book! I love keeping things from my travels. This would be the perfect place to keep them all.
These look great, Elsie! I would like to do Project Life someday (maybe next year) now that I have a baby.
PS- I been following you for years and years. Lol. I still hoard some of your scrapbook papers (the notebook paper and little cameras were my faves) and embellishments. 😉
ahh i love your mix of colors and patterns! one day i’ll be able to mix patterns and colors with such ease. such an inspiration! thank you for sharing!!
i have thought so much about doing this this year… i wish i had the time to do this now… i love all the designs. so simple and cute! also, i think this is so much easier than scrapbooking.
Love that you’re starting PL!! Its one of my favorites since its easy, but you can still add your personality to it! Here’s our PL blog posts: http://leonalane.typepad.com/my-blog/project-life/
Wow… wowowowo this is so inspiring. I need to get rid of the memories on my laptop so I can have them in tactile form to share with friends when they come over. What a fantastic method you have just introduced to us!
It’s so great to see you scrapbooking again! I love how you laid out the pages. The colors are great!
I’ve been doing Project Life since the beginning of 2012, but I got so obsessed that I started going through my photos to do past years as well. Here are all of my posts tagged with Project Life! http://thenerdnest.com/category/mermory-keeping/project_life
that’s so awesome! really love it! 😉http://lovesimplegreen.blogspot.com/
This is such an adorable idea, so well done.
I’m so excited that you are doing Project Life now too! I can get good ideas and you can save your memories in a cute way.
I’m up to date in my album, but I’m way behind in sharing them. Here’s what I have from last year so far: http://www.paperbackpirate.blogspot.com/search/label/Project%20Life%202012

i’m on my second year and completely love it. i’m not always up to date blogging about it, but here is my link:

looking forward to seeing your year!
What a sweet idea! Looking at your pages is making me realize how few photos we have together and how few photo-worthy moments we have in life. Hmm. That’s … more despondent than I intended this comment to be. I love your project, is the point 🙂
i’ve been toying with the idea to do project life for about a year now… but i never got around to it, with the new house, new baby, new job, it’s been quite busy! i’d love to do it some day though. it’s a great idea. love yours!

Beautiful…really nice idea!!!!
I was going to try Project Life but I didn’t. I don’t know, I guess it’s something I could do. My Polaroid is collecting dust so I guess I could use that. Well, I’ll give it some thought.
Your book looks fantastic though. I love the photos. Beautiful.
Thank you for sharing!

I am doing Project Life too! I did it last year and it’s my only success with scrapbooking. I love your pages! So much fun! 🙂

I love, love the Project Life system and have been dying to try it. I am wondering how you print the cards. That has been one of many things that has been holding me back:) I am assuming you have a great color printer. Any suggestions?
This is really cute. I like the mix of computer programs with old-school scrapbooking. A fun twist on preserving memories!

Love the idea of these project life books! I had discovered them over on a blog you had posted about a while back! Yours is super nice, you have a great eye for design 🙂 Love the acrylic paint confetti 🙂
So fun!! Love the colors!!
I remember your days in the scrapbooking industry! They are what initially brought me to your blog! I may or may not have a big box full of your products that I’m hoarding in fear of using them then not being able to buy them again. 😉 I am crazy excited you are diving into Project Life! There might have been a loud “NO FREAKING WAY!!” from my mouth when I saw the news 🙂 Can’t wait for more inspiration!
this is beautiful! i can’t even stand how cute it is. would love to make this myself.

You are SO creative! I’m definitely going to check it out! Really cool.
I HAVE been following your blog for that long. Your book on Scrapbooking 52 challenges was one of my favorite things! I also still have some letters and paper left from one of your collections.. the one that was travel themed.
You have been a big inspiration to me!
this is a really fun idea I need to more with pictures/memories
thanks as always for the inspiration
Your pages are gorgeous and look like you! Thank you for sharing! I’m so inspired it find my own style.
Love this! I’ve always loved the idea of scrapbooking, but never been into the traditional method. This is definitely something I want to start!
Okay. So I basically silently screamed with happiness when I saw the title of this post in my reader. DUDE! I hope you keep sharing because I would LOVE to see how you do it. 🙂

I just really, really, did I say REALLY, L-O-V-E your blog!!!! I love how your style & personality shines thru all your projects! This kind of scrapbooking is great, where the focus are the photos. Now adays there is sooooo much scrapbooking supplies available it can get overwhelming. I love the simplicity and ease of these plastic pages.
I haven’t made one yet, but I keep seeing it popping up around the internet. I used to be really into scrapbooking and got away from it for awhile (I got bored with scrapbooking the single life, I guess), and I love both the simplicity and the room for experimentation of this idea. I don’t have time to start one right now because I’m in the trenches of wedding planning (and making my dress for it!), but I’m thinking that I’m going to do some variant of this to document the first year of married life once it starts, and see how I like it!
I’m going to do this omgoodness thank you for this
xx

I’ve gone back and forth on whether to start scrapbooking, and you’re totally right. If I do it, I want it to be simple and mostly pictures. So Project Life is the way to go.
Since we’re halfway through February, I’m thinking I might start something like this for my birthday, and do albums for each year. Might be interesting.
Thanks for the inspiration!
Love these spreads. Have to ask- where did you get that polka dot one piece bathing suit?! Now that I am a mom I need one pieces (stretch marks-sad!), but CUTE ones (:
It’s turning out beautifully! Such a great idea!
Ooh! I never heard of this before. This is smtg i would LOvE to do, for sure.
But i just dnt know when how?! I m not even sure if I wld be good at it!

This project is shaping up beautifully. I LOVE the mix of photographs, pattern swatches and colours! Makes me want to go start my own Project Life right NOW! 🙂
Thank you for the daily inspiration you guys 🙂
Aw, this is super sweet! I would definitely love to do something like this for my one year anniversary with my boyfriend, but that’s coming up in June, so might be a bit soon to start scrapbooking now. Although, I do like planning things in advance, haha 😉 Congrats on this beautiful project!
I love this idea! I’ve always tried to start scrapbooking projects and get overwhelmed by all of the ‘stuff’ and clutter I had on hand, this is such a cute alternative!

I have been the SAME way about Project Life! This post may be what finally gets me going on it! Great post!
What a great idea! I’ve never heard of it before! I always wanted to do something “scrap-booky” but I get lost in all of the designs and mostly…well it makes me crazy! I buy all of these cute supplies and then never use them. This looks like it could be easy and fun and since I LOVE to take pictures and then just store them on my laptop…this would be a fun way to have them to look at! Great shots…I know somebody else said it, but please keep us updated!

I think this is an amazing idea. I love scrapbooking but never set aside the time. Now – I will!

Love this! I have a million pictures so this sounds great.

Love your pages! I heard about Project Life a few months ago and have it on my wish list for when we move back to the states… Hopefully I will find it as easy as you, and with similarly beautiful results!
I love your different style! It’s so unique and refreshing! Keep up the great work!
It is SO about time you did this project. I love your doodles, your design, your simplicity. Thanks so much for sharing.
PS. I own one of your scrapbooking books and have loved your creativeness throughout all these years.
Wow it looks absolutely amazing! Unfortunately I’m not that artsy, or maybe it’s just the lack of free time..

Never heard of Project Life before but it looks like something i would love!
This is so beautiful. I used to do this when my hubby and I started dating. No clue why I stopped. Maybe it’s time to consider it again! Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
I’ve seen it a few times and it does sound really interesting. I like that it doesn’t require as much work as scrapbooking. I’m wondering, on the photos that span two pockets, or 4 pockets, are those difficult to size so that they’ll be continuous? Does that makes sense?
Brianna,
Nope- not at all. They are 6×6 spots. So I sized a 12×12 photo in photoshop and then cropped a 6×6 square from each corner. Then I printed our each square on its own sheet of paper. 🙂
Hope that helps!
Elsie
I love, love, love Project Life!! This year I am having trouble getting motivated (probably because I am so behind on last year). I have my core kit all ready to go. Maybe this will help me to get moving!!
love your black & white plus color pages!
Elsie – I just love your creativity! This is so beautiful; what a fun way to keep & share your memories. This is the first time I’ve heard of Project Life – now I can’t wait to check it out! Thanks!!

Wow! It’s beautiful so far…. This seems like such a great project. I wish I had the artistic talent to do something like this. Although, I’ve only been married for 2.5 months, so I may be able to do something over time.
Oooh, doing this!
I always wondered why you stopped scrapbooking. Totally understand why you stopped. I lost my desire a few years ago and when Becky Higgins came out with Project Life really got back into it. I love pictures and how much they tell of our every day lives. Love your pages!
I love this its so cheery and fun!

I so wish I had started this so many years ago. I envy you that and that you have done an awesome job. ( Been married 32 years. No way to go back, ENJOY your Journey!!)
Swoon! Elise is one of the big reasons I’m trying out PL this year too! It makes my little design-loving heart happy and I love the mix of digital and paper-in-my-hands creating. You mentioned using your tablet to create some cards…is there an app for that?
oh how i really love this! I think i can maybe manage something like this. thank you for the inspiration…now i need to find all these pages and choose photos. how did you ever choose?
Loved to see you back to scrapbooking! I have been doing PL for 3 years now, and I just love the simplicity of words and photos.
Greetings from Norway! I love this. I haven’t scrapped in a long time, so a year’s worth of pictures seems overwhelming to me. But I love this approach. TFS! 😀
I quietly follow your blog because I’ve loved your style since you popped up in my scrapbooking world years ago.. THANK YOU for putting the final nail in the coffin that was my worry to start scrapbooking again with Project Life.. tax money on it’s way, my order will be in soon! Thank you Elsie! <3
I love Project Life! I started in September last year and am doing it again this year. I can not wait to see your project, it will be beautiful!
This is more than cute, this is more than adorable <3
Should going to do something like that, too!
This is just so beautiful!
2013 is my second year using Project Life to document!
http://lemonandraspberry.com/tag/project-life/
Elsie, I’ve been following your blog since you very very (very) first were published in Creating Keepsakes so I’m super excited to see you dabble in memory keeping again 🙂
xo
Eeeek! So awesome to see your take on Project Life. I’m one of those people who has ‘followed’ your work since the early scrapbooking days (you ooze talent in all you invest your energy in!). Can’t wait to see more of your pages. I’m also one of those ‘all-in’ type people and sat on my PL supplies for way too long time. This year it’s happening and I’ve posted a few weeks of 2013 so far here: http://www.teresavictor.com
Elsie…..can you give a brief tutorial on how to make cards with your tablet? I would love to learn that!! ❤ Or just email me!! ?
I’ve been a fan of your work and initially discovered you as a scrapbooker. It is so wonderful to see your Project Life. I LOVE the black and white photographs and pops of color. Elsie, do you, because WHATEVER you do, is always beautiful!!! Thanks for the inspiration!
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
This photo album is so amazing!
I will try one day, i must!
That is so cute just in time for Valentines Day! http://www.shopperstherapy.blogspot.com
I love this idea. I’m going to try and post a new blog inspired by it
This is beyond adorable! I love the photography and the use of design within the album. Its really stunning!

Seems like a great template for those of us who are scrapbook amateurs =D

I may have missed this earlier, but Elsie, where did you get your pictures printed? Or did you print them at home?
Looks great!!
Blythe, I did them on my home printer (along with the little patterned cards I made) Next time I will send my 4x6s off in bulk to be printed, though, to save time!
XO! elsie
I’m having a not so nice day so seeing this made me a little happier. Such a cool idea.

Ooh, what a great idea. I have so many pictures and I do nothing with them.
SOOOOOOOOOO GIDDY to see you scrapping again!!!!!! EEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! LOVE these pages!
This is so funny reading this today. I still have so much of your scrapbooking papers and stickers etc… I used to love them sooo much and I bought them all, sometimes doubles even. I just blogged today a LO and found an old epoxy sticker of your’s and added it to my LO. See…

Enjoy project life xxx
It’s made me all kinds of happy to see you start Project Life. I loved your designs for scrapbooking—and still have some of those cute house & funky frames you made. But I’ve left most embellishments behind and embraced project life because it lets me focus on what I love most—words+photos.
I’m actually giving away a Baby Edition of Project Life this month on my blog post all about how I moved to PL. My pages are uber simple, but I’m capturing some of our daily magic and I love it!
http://www.deirdreokeatingblog.com/2013/02/the-evolution-of-memory-keeping-and.html
I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT! I’m so impressed by how you put effort into everyday, physical activities that involve creativity. It’s such a simple project yet we don’t find the time to enjoy these things because we’re consumed in our digital devices.
I’ll definitely give it a try one day Lubna

Beautiful! Off to a great start with PL 🙂 I just started myself… after collecting scrapbook papers and embellishments for like 8 years! It always felt so overwhelming to sit down and compose a page, now I can rest at ease with PL!
I love this!! I started my own Project Life album with the holiday season 2012/start of 2013. I’m having so much fun with it, compared to the “chore” of catching up on a scrapbook. It feels more like a photo-heavy journal, which I love.
I hadn’t shared any of it on my blog, but maybe now I will have to do that 😀
This is such a cute idea! My boyfriend and I always wanted to start an “adventure book” (yes like in up) and this would be a cute way to do it!

Your pages are awesome…. I’ve been doing it for well over a year.. I keep my pages simple too.. I hv some seafoam binders and am using the seafoam kit too.. love it.. since we moved by the beach 4 months ago…. well the colors were perfect!
You can see my pages here,

Wow! You did an excellent job! I’ve never heard of Project Life. I usually avoid scrapbooking because it overwhelms me, but I really love this. Thanks for sharing.
Elsie, which page protectors did you use? I was looking at your pictures, and it looks like you have a few different ones. I love the idea, and I think I’m going to get one for me and my fiancé to start for Valentines Day 🙂
Really cool idea, very artistic. Your children, should you decided to have any 🙂 Will love to look through this one day.
Your album is gorgeous! I can’t wait to see how it progresses 🙂 I am like that also with projects, I just can’t do anything halfway!!
I loved your scrapbook pages then and I still do now. 🙂 Glad you’re back.
Jen
This is amazing! I am always so inspired by your dynamic and personal approach to design.
Hey Elsie! Do you use an instant camera for this? I’d love to start one! 🙂
This is such a lovely idea! Love the photos!

With the work that you have put into this to preserve your memories for years to come, I hope that the plastic sleeves that you have put your photos into are archival quality. They need to be lignin and buffered and acid free other wise all your wonderful photos will fade and they wont be around for your family to cherish. I do love the simplicity and as a scrapbooker myself know how important it is to get photos out of the computer and into an album.
LOVE LOVE it!

I haven’t scrapped for a number of years now… trying to make all the frou-frou pretty was doing my head in.
Project Life however, looks much more like my style. Simple.
Love it!
Thank you!!
Tasha xo
I guess I am one of those that has been around for FOREVER then! I still have some of your Christmas paper that I could never cut into and definitely couldn’t part with! Once a groupie, always a groupie! I bought all the stuff to start project life last year and literally never even took it out of the package. Maybe I’ll get the itch soon… we’ll see!
where can I buy the same album, because usually they have alittle bigger sizes for photos like 9*12
Wow! I hadn’t heard about project life and it seems such a sweet thing!
I started creating photobooks online last year. And as much as I love the professional outcome, I kind of miss being able to stick tickets and other memorabilia into the book.
Anyway, your pages look incredibly beautiful!
Wow. This looks so amazing. We don’t print pictures like we used to do 10 years ago. I must make more of an effort to create photo albums!
I’ve been doing Project Life for a couple of years! Totally in love with your pages. Stunning!
Oh oops, here’s the link to my pages on my blog.
http://www.listgirl.com/search/label/ProjectLife
This is such a simple and cute way to document your life!
I’ve always been scared of scrapbooking. I might try this soon.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Incredibly beautiful. I love how some spreads are B&W and some are intensely colorful. I haven’t been consistent with my Project Life attempts, but this is motivating me to try to get back to it!
this project sounds awesome- ive made some scrapbooks before- one focusing mainly on my husband and I when we first got married etc and the next for my son as a baby to one year kind of thing I love scrapbooking have to do more! xx. gigi. food and beauty blogger @ http://www.gigikkitchen.blogspot.com
I freaking love this!
You are so good at this stuff. If I try something like this it winds up looking like a first graders art project gone wrong! Good job!!
Such unique pages!!! A breath of fresh air!!
Have been doing PL for three years & am pretty much obsessed : )

Serious crush on your design. Lots of inspiration here. The orange*ish page is dreamy. I’ve started PL but haven’t blogged about it yet as I’m soon to resurrect my blog. I love this project so much and I love keeping it somewhat simple. This is fabulous. Love it!
Love your take on PL! I’ve missed seeing your scrapbooking work. I love how simple PL is and how the focus is all about the photos and journaling. I’m about to start myself. Thanks for the inspiration!
Check out my pages on instagram: happystarlove
Year #2 for me, and I. LOVE. IT.
Your pages are beautiful! Always enjoy reading your blog 🙂
This is awesome! I read your blog way back when and LOVED all of your scrapbook pages and projects. I still love your blog without the scrapbooking focus, but I’m excited to see you start this new project because I just started PL this year too! Thanks for sharing!
I’ve been wanting to do Project Life for awhile now.. The only sad part is I don’t have the money to buy it 🙁
this looks so good! such a great idea. <3
Love your style! And love how every page looks different. Can’t wait to see more!
I love your pages! Love your style. I’ve been scrapping forever and just started PL for the first time this year but in a small format (6×8) so its not overwhelming. I def like the simplicity of just recording some memories/thoughts/happenings.
Your photos are awesome!
i so miss your scrapbooking you have no idea. i hope you wll return to your ‘rootst’! you have inspired my scrapbooking style. i miss you!
I love that your doing project life Elsie. I’m a fan from way back. Yes I even still have your papers in my stash 🙂 can’t wait to see your interpretation throughout the year.
I love your album and the project itself! I wonder where you bought the photo album though? I´ve been looking for a similar one on the net and in stores here in Sweden for months but can´t seem to find one! I have no problem ordering from the US if there´s a webshop you can recommend!
First of all i want to say im so glad i’ve found your blog. I love the style, the happiness and joy it brings. Im an interiordesigner and photographer from the netherlands and always searching for inspiration. Well, i definately found this in this blog… i added you directly to my Bloglovin!
To be honest, normally im not really into scrapbooking.. but when i saw your Project Life… it makes me realizes this could be great! So.. i just ordered the pages on Amazon.. and hope to get started soon! Thank you for this inspiration.
Will you stop by on my blog too? Curious what you think!
Kind regards, Souraya | Binti Home

i absolutely love it! definitely inspiring! what do you use to print out your photos?
Your album is so fabulous! I’m so envious that you had such talent for scrapbooking. I love how you documented your life through photographs and put it in an album with your own personal touch. Your photos are also breathtaking! I like taking photos but I rarely print them out. I guess having a physical memento would be better than having them mostly in digital. After looking your project, I was inspired to do it in near future. Your creativeness is so contagious!
haha it was only a matter of time before you’d be doing one of these! love the result. that black and white picure of the two of you with the confetti design is my favourite!
this looks absolutely amazingg !
Wow this is so beautiful!
Beautiful. Such a lovely, simple idea. xx
I’ve wanted to try Project Life since I saw it on Elise’s blog! The main thing I am worried about is not being able to manage it because life gets so busy. How much are all the supplies for it? I’ve been scrapbooking my entire life and I LOVE it, so that is definitely something I would continue doing even if I started PL.
This is gorgeous, I want to do this! So cute

This is so cute, so happy that one of my favorite blogs is getting into this hobby! Can’t wait to see more!
I can’t believe you’re scrapbooking again. That’s surreal. I’m at a loss of words. Seriuosly. So happy. That’s all I can say right now.
🙂
I feel as if THIS is what I have been searching for, for months. I too am growing tired of my scrapbooking supplies and the time it takes, but this image-focused design of scrapbooking is amazing. I’m going to start right away. Thank you for sharing!
yay! so happy you jumped on the bandwagon. I haven’t shared my pages on my blog yet but I do share them on instagram 🙂
Wow you are always so contagious with your inspirations! This Project Life seems pretty awesome. I just need to try it one day but I have to say that if their templates are pretty creative, you always manage to create something completely beautiful and unique! I just love what you did with it!

Beautiful! Elsie, where did you buy the different sizes of photo pockets? Anywhere? And is that just a regular photo album you are using? Love it!

I’m one of those people who has been following your blog for a long, long time. Back in the scrapbook days, when your first book came out. I still have a painting (from the original Red Velvet Etsy shop) hanging on my wall. Thanks for still being an inspiration all these years later. It’s been so fun to watch you grow and change through your blog!
Something I have been meaning to do for aaaaaages – I came across the concept about 18months ago via a couple of my fave bloggers (pink ronnie and paislee press) – I so need a system like this so I actually get all the pics I take off the mac and into something real, the trouble is that the backlog is so enormous I don’t know where to start ….
This is the cutest thing! 🙂 I love all the photos too!
http://www.happypaperplace.com/
Wow, Elsie.. I’m so glad to see you scrapbook. It makes me happy. I have seen project life and it’s something I’m thinking of trying. But thank you for always having new ideas and making something so simple but yet, beautiful. Also I still have your Love, Elsie collection. Thanks for sharing as always.
Love this idea! Checked out Project Life and am gutted to find distribution to my country is pretty limited (New Zealand), so too expensive for me and my creativity for now 🙁
Great way of keeping your memories safe !!
http://hidinginheaven.blogspot.fr/
