Hey friends! It’s spring (pre-Spring? totally-not-Spring. maybe i’m just wishing for Spring…) and my motto is definitely “out with the old”. We’ve been cleaning out like crazy. The spring cleaning bug has definitely bitten! Even so, I can’t help but have a few special things on my wishlist. Recently, Jeremy and I have been adding to our cookbook collection and staying in more. This is good. It’s definitely the perfect time of year to try new recipes at home. xo. Elsie.

I have that Jamie book and my sister who lives in England take turns making things out of there and sending photos and a review of how it turned out. If you like Jamie, my other favorite British books are anything by Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall of River Cottage fame. We fell in love with him after watching some of his original River Cottage episodes on YouTube, and now have many of his books as well.

I have that waffle maker! My MIL got it for me last Christmas, and we use it all the time. It’s so easy to use and makes perfect waffles! If you get it, try this recipe: http://www.eatingwell.com/recipes/multi_grain_waffles.html. It’s our favorite so far.

I love Jamie Oliver! I really love how he is trying to change the way families eat by teaching how to cook healthy meals that are really yummy. I was lucky enough to win a copy of “Jamie’s Food Revolution” from a local tv show last year!
Argh I love Jamie Oliver!! We have one of his shops near us, and once my grandma walked in and saw him there with a film crew! She was so embarrassed by all the cameras and walked out! He’s such a great cook and always seems so friendly in his books and on tv, although his 30 minute meals totally don’t take 30 minutes… 🙂

Jamie is my favourite cook! I have 5 cook books and I love them all. His programmes are even better. Always very inspiring.
When I and my husband started living together Jamie’s book was the first cook book I bought and I learned cooking from him. For me he’s a great cook and person!

Definitely agree about the Jamie Oliver food crush. Jamie Oliver’s American recipe book has some of my favourite recipes in it. Also, loving the anthropology sale, the yellow throw is so pretty.
Ihave that Waffle iron, not the exact brand but it makes the same heart shaped waffles. Love it! Mine’s a tad older though, so the non-stick has almost stopped working. Haha might be time for a new one 🙂 I adore heart shaped things 🙂 At my town’s local natural food store, they’re selling heart shaped ramekins 🙂 I plan on buying two of them 🙂

If you love Jamie Oliver then you’ll love his food fight club. It finished fairly recently on British TV. And 15 minute meals is amazing. Such lovely food cooked so fast!
My best friend got me the America’s Test Kitchen Family Cookbook last year as a housewarming gift when I got married and moved. I’m an abysmal cook but I’ve managed not to botch any of their recipes. And it literally has a recipe for EVERYTHING. Highly recommend.

I need to check out that Jamie oliver book! My whole family has been in love with him since The Naked Chef! My dad loves the Jamie At Home book and show, and i love the 30 minute meals! So the answer is yes… I too have a never-ending crush on Jamie Oliver!
I think in the UK people had a love affair with jamie and then it wained and now its back! His 30 min meals and 15 min meals are amazing! 15 min falafal? yes please!

I completely understand with the Jamie Oliver crush, I started watching his shows in India and now I am obsessed! Glad I am not the only one.
I’ve been obsessed with all things Jamie Oliver since… I want to say 12, I remember watching Oliver’s Twist early in the morning when I couldn’t sleep, and being complete mesmerized. That passion, style, and philosophy about food and cooking all came from him. He’s amazing.
I can’t say I’ve got a crush on Jaimie but the deli he opened here recently has taken ALOT of my cash!
And that book has been a great help over the last year, you’ll love it!
I couldn’t agree with you more about Jamie! I absolutely love watching him! He makes things look so simple! and what I like about him is that he has tried to make a difference through his work. He has tried to help young people with no prospects to make something good with themselves… He has tried to change people’s eating habits both in England and in the USA. And all this at such a young age!!!

I wish January was spring! It is decidedly winter here; spring doesn’t begin until at least April, and the nice part with flower buds and green things is not until the end of May.

Yep, me and my dad both love Jamie Oliver. To the point that my dad just refers to him as Jamie sometimes.
I am so in love with Jamie O! I always try and imagine him and his family coming around to my place and cooking and hanging out. Embarrassing much!……. sigh.
While I may be fond of Jamie Oliver, I don’t think he’s fond of me – I may have accidentally ruined some filming he was doing the other day by walking into shot mid-bite of my sandwich.
