The library is such a fantastic place to gather inspiration! There's just something about seeing shelves and shelves of books on your favorite subjects. Plus I've always thought that a library card equals the opportunity to learn new things, which is exciting. Personally, you can usually find me in the cookbook, craft or fantasy novel sections. I love book stores and my new kindle as well, but libraries will always hold a special place in my heart. xo. Emma (and Elsie)

cute!
Love those boots Emma!
Love this post. There is something magical about libraries… Can you pretty please do a post on your tattoos!?
I rediscovered the library last year. It’d been years and years since I’d been to a public library, and I kept saying, “I can’t believe it’s free!” Judging from the books in the background, looks like you ladies will be doing some baking soon!
Jane- You can read a little about our tattoos here: http://abeautifulmess.com/2011/01/red-velvet-tattoos-.html
Love the outfits! Cute as always! Especially love the polka dots π

Springfield libraries are the best. I live out of county, and I’m so bummed that I can’t afford to renew my Springfield-Greene County library membership right now. And I totally love those boots.

Polka dots and a great colour scheme? I’m in love with Elsie’s outfit.

Elsie, that outfit is PERFECTION. Something about the colors and the silhouette just screams YES in my head π
Elsie, LOVE your hair! I don’t know if you have changed it recently, but the color and cut look awesome on you. Frames your face perfectly. Love you gals and this blog!! xxx
I love this post! Somewhere I forget about …the library a free source of inspiration! Your outfits are super cute too!

I can’t remember the last time I visited a public library, and this post made me miss them. You girls look stylish, like always!

I’m often skipping school to go to the library, so I can understand you!!

It’s been such a long time since I last was at a library.
Must go again soon (:
This post definitely made me want to head over to the library! It’s been too long since I’ve been there. And you both look so pretty! I love your skirts. The crocheted one looks so comfy and I am loving polka dots right now. Thanks for sharing! π
You ladies get so beautifully dressed to go to the library! Love both outfits. Guess it’s time for me to rethink the track pants that I often wear when I go. To my credit, they are always nice track-pants but still, I think I’ll take a page from your book, and get dressed a little more nicely when I’m out and about.
Must be the day for posts in the library! Mine was too today π
Polka dot. Enough said π
I love libraries

Hey! I noticed you mentioned the library AND your Kindle at the same time, and I just wanted to suggest that you see if your library does Kindle rentals. Our library system has a limited number of each e-book and you can browse them on their website. Might be worth checking out? (Hehe, get it?) Sometimes it’s faster to “check out” the e-book than the physical book because they’ll have a few more of the former than the latter.
Sorry for this novel of a comment.
Anyways, you guys look gorgeous, and so does your library <3
I so adore the library! I always am in such a rush when I come that I simply run to the new books section and grab anything on cooking, decorating or crafting…the take home is always amazing! It does seem like the whole world is your oyster when you are at a library-like anything is possible. I love that-and wearing skirts…super cute ladies!

I volunteered at my local library all through high school. One of the best life experiences I’ve ever had. Thanks for posting! It makes me even more determined to stay on track with one of my “resolutions”, reading more. π
I am in love with Elsie’s shoes and Emma’s skirt! I’ve been searching everywhere for things like those!

love the fashion, but am swooning over the fact that you’re giving the library a shout out even more!
love your blog!!!

I do like the scenario of being on a library, be surrounded by all those shelves full of books. But I don’t like to read/study there because of the noise that people makes passing to one side to the other…. I prefer to read at home, and one day make my own library π
Great outfits π

I love libraries and love the polka dot skirt! Been looking at it and wondering what to pair it up with π Best part about my library is being able to skip there in under 2 minutes!

I adore libraries…my husband has recently returned to studying and has access to some really beautiful oldy worldy librares – I always leave feeling inspired.

Ahhh I love the Swedish Hasbeens! Since I moved back home between being laid off from my job and starting grad school in a couple of weeks, I’ve been hitting up the town library like crazy! It’s still as magical as Belle made it out to be =D
Great post. I don’t know if you are actually quite tall or not but you both look very tall standing next to the bookshelves! I personally haven’t been able to use my library card since stealing a copy of Nicola Krauss’s book the History of Love almost two years ago!

Have you ever heard of the Library as Incubator project? I’m a student at a library science graduate program in Madison, Wisconsin, and some students there are doing this project on how artists & writers use libraries as inspiration. Check it out! π
