I've been in the mood for some new fall wardrobe pieces, so I decided to make my own! I stitched this little backpack from a lined men's plaid shirt I thrifted. Here's how: Supplies: Plaid button up shirt, scissors, sewing machine lace ribbon or thin rope.
1. Begin by cutting off the sleeves, neckline, and (depending on the size of the backpack) the botton of the shirt. Stitch up the sides and bottom so that it creates a bag. 2. Next, create a loop on the top of the back with both ends open so that you can thread some type of ribbon or rope ribbon through. We used a lace ribbon for our backpack. Once you've thread the ribbon through, flip the back right side out. 3. With the remaining fabric from the sleeves, sew two straps that are roughly 20×2 inches. 4. Lastly, stitch them to the backpack by attached the two top ends on top of one another and the other ends on opposite sides.xoxo. Kinsey

So cute, I actually have a blue mens sweater exactly like this and I thinking I might give it a bash 🙂 Also, I love the top Kinsey is wearing! <3

I’m a total backpack girl. They are just so much more comfortable, better for your back, and super for bike rides when compared to over-the-shoulder bags (oh, and they don’t wedge into your boobs either!).
I love this 🙂

This is such a good idea! I’m trying to wear backpacks instead of shoulder bags so that my back doesn’t get so sore (that makes me sound so old) and I’d love to make this to put my books in 🙂

Another item to add to the thrift list this weekend! I’m thinking my SIL would love one of these for Christmas.
This is a genious idea! And cheaper than buying a new bag, esp if you already have an old shirt/jacket you dont wear anymore.

I am going to make this for my daughter (who is in college) for Christmas. She will be “wow”d”! Off the subject, I would love to know where Elsie got her red mary jane shoes that I see in some pictures. I am kinda obsessed with them!
Welp, that’s the cutest thing I ever did see. I personally, would have had a hard time cutting into that bad boy…
But kuddos to Kinsey!

Fantastic idea, I love this bag!!!

Hey Emma and Elsie this is totally out of topic but I’d really like to know what incentives you give your team. Do they get paid? Or do they willingly contribute their talent and time? I have a small business and friends help me from time to time but I don’t know how to pay them or how to ‘thank’ them. Please I need your insights on this,I know It’s a bit personal but I think a lot of people would want to know. Thanks!
Where are the boots from???
