What better way to welcome Autumn into our homes than with a giant floral wreath?! I love warm, rich fall colors. The more the merrier, I say! All I want to do is make crafts when the weather starts cooling down.
This wreath is super easy! Here's how it's made- 1. Supplies: 12 inch foam wreath form, glue gun, glue sticks, 3 bunches of silk flowers in warm tones, 6 feet of 2 inch wide ribbon in a matching color. 2. Pull all the blooms from their stems and cut off the little plastic stem piece on the back of each flower. 3. Tightly wrap your wreath form with ribbon. Use hot glue to adhere the ends to the foam. 4. Use a generous amount of hot glue to adhere each flower. Seriously, use a bunch… the more you use now, the less likely you are to have to re-glue flowers later! 5. I like to adhere my blooms in bunches (starting with the largest flowers) and then fill in the gaps with more blooms. This makes it easy to space out larger blooms. 6. Last, fill in any gaps with smaller blooms. That's it! This is a 30 minute craft. Have fun!
And here is the finished product. I'm really happy with wreath. Best of all, I think it's a piece that I will use year after year to welcome Autumn to our home!
I'm so thankful for a new home to decorate. We're moving in about a week, so I'll share photos soon. We're already planning our first small party! What are you excited about this month? Elsie

I love wreaths, they spruce up my dark sad apartment door!! Will be trying this out soon. This month I am looking forward to having some tea on my balcony with a big comfy sweater and slippers. Also it is my birthday on the 27th, I love September!! P.S love love your blog, just can’t seem to get enough of it 🙂
Thanks!
Gorgeous colors. I love Fall! 🙂
To answer your question, I guess the biggest excitement for this month would be taking a week off from work. SO looking forward to that.
I love Fall’s rich, wonderful colors as well! I have so many DIY wreaths pinned on Pinterest, thank you got reminding me of them – I am moving to Florida on Friday and look forward to making one of these the moment we get down there to make out new house a home 🙂
Seems easy for sure.
I have a stupid question but how do you hang it on your door ?
Nolwenn, I have a nail in my door. 🙂 There are wreath hangers you can buy too!
Have fun crafting, Elsie
I love this. I can’t wait to see your new home pics Elsie. I love moving and unpacking and organising and reorganising until it’s all just right.
This is such an inspiration blog for a homebody!
While I hate actual autumn/winter I LOVE the colors. They remind me of warmth and comfort. I would definitely hang this wreath all year round.
So perfect!

So festive and simple! I made a wintery wreath a few years ago, maybe its time to start working on some more seasonal ones…

I love the colors of your wreath 🙂
it is so exciting to see your move in process. Elsie, your house is going to be ABSOLUTELY beautiful!
Beautiful!
That is such an amazing wreath. I check your blog regularly (all the way from New Zealand) and am always filled with inspiration. So beautiful!
although I do not favour fall (we call it autumn in Australia) because it signifies the roll into winter, I love the colours. I’m so envious of the culture surrounding the American fall season, with Halloween and the falling leaves and pumpkin everything..
Wow, this is so beautiful! What a great project for Autumn! One of these would look sooo lovely in our kitchen…
It’s beautiful! I’d love to make a summery one
That’s very beautiful!
This looks really lovely. Maybe I can try it out with my aupair kids. 🙂

I’ve always wanted to make a wreath but have never gotten around to it, maybe this will be the year! Love autumnal colours, so I pretty much adore this!
Seems like your month is going to be so awesome with different happenings. Autumn is a bit depressed here with rain and coldness. But some DIY ideas from your blog make it brighter now 🙂
So pretty! Well, I’m really excited about two things. First, tomorrow we’re leaving for a little roadtrip to visit Red Velvet! Second, my parents got me a super cool camera for my b-day this month (I’m 14 turning 15) and I’ve been trying to fit learning more about photography in between school. Uggh. Have a great day, you guys!
I only do this form Xmast but love the one for autumn!
Great colors

What better way to welcome autumn? To go to forest and to look for mushrooms. 😀 But your idea is fantastic, too ; )

*gasp* Oh the colors and textures! I love that this isn’t your typical leafy wreath. It’s the surprising shapes that make it so stunning.

Wow, this is so beautiful Elsie, thanks for sharing! This year I’ve decided to actually decorate my little house for the seasons and holidays, I’ve never done it before. This blog is definitely an inspiration. As to your question: This week my husband and I are opening our own business, it’s a music school. I am beyond excited, but I can relate when you’re talking about boxes and painting – it’s exciting but exhausting! I hope you’re enjoying the process, and good luck with the final prepping for your move.

I moved into a new apartment this May and with the start of each holiday and season I find little things to get excited about. Like in my new place we have a fire bowl, cannot wait for bonfires on chilly nights!
Love the brightness of this wreath. Shows just how rich Fall can be!
beautiful! I’m making little felt sunflowers for our September wreath;)I can’t wait to see the move-in photos, and we are excited about having the in-laws visit us in S. Korea! It is a month of fun family outings ahead.
Very nice idea. I love the colors, so autumn. good DIY project for the coming season!

This looks really pretty, I like the colours a lot!
I will move in the beginning of October and there is so much to do. I have to organize so much, things I never had to deal with before. But it´s fine, as long as it´s going forward. 🙂
That’s so beautiful! In Sweden we do often decorate with cowberry to do pretty wreaths. You should try that too (:
This is gorgeous! I’ve been wanting to try making a wreath for my condo’s front door. I may give this one a try. Thank you for explaining how to arrange the flowers!
It’s gorgeous! I’m showing this to my mom. She loves making seasonal wreaths for the house. It’s one of her favorite craft projects 🙂
I made a wintery wreath a few years ago, maybe its time to start working on some more seasonal ones…

Very pretty, and from your instructions this looks pretty easy. One could make floral wreaths for every season and rotate them.

This is really gorgeous and very well done. I’ve noticed the last several autumn seasons that fall floral gets a bad rap. Everyone is fine with pumpkins and leaves, but they don’t want those rust and faded burgundy colored flowers. Well I disagree! And I’m glad to see you do too! I don’t put flowers in all my fall decor, but I think it looks really nice occasionally. Again, this turned out beautiful. Thanks for sharing!
