Hi friends! This is the last piece in our maternity DIY series. We had so much fun working on this series and I hope that some of you enjoy making these simple pieces! This dress is the simplest of all the maternity DIYs we've posted. Here's how you make it… You'll need a yard (or less) of pre-smocked fabric. You can find this at most fabric stores. We found this fabric at Hancock Fabrics. Pull the smocked part of the fabric around your bust and pin it together. Sew a side seam down the entire side of the dress, creating a tube. Trim it to the length you like and hem the bottom edge. This sun dress was one of Stacy's favorites. It's easy to wear, breezy and stretchy. The best part is, it's easy to whip up in an afternoon with minimal sewing skills, for under $20! xo. elsie

Hehe, super easy and darn cute!
That’s one of the nicer smocked fabric that I’ve seen. Usually they are pretty lame. I would love to find a similar one for myself. Perfect summer dress, pregnant or not.

so so so so cute!
For a maternity dress, I would suggest cutting it longer in the front to accommodate for the lift that the baby bump will cause. Cute, simple design!
Simple but beautiful!
I love this!
The shoulder bag she is wearing reminds me the fabrics from Guatemala Central America. Is a very cute idea, If I decide to have babys in the future, I have to check all posts again.

So… I’m not pregnant nor (hopefully!) will be for a while, but I gotta say, you see Maternity outfit posts all the time. Not to detract from those others, but your maternity clothing is not only the simplest to make/get a hold of, it is by far the most flattering and comfortable looking I’ve seen. Great series. Your friend must be so happy to have such easy, cheap and cute maternity clothing.
What lipstick is she wearing? It is gorge.
so cute!
She is the most beautiful pregnant woman!
I want to get pregnant again just so I can make these maternity clothes.

Lovely! I must remember to save all of these to make when we decide it’s time for a nugget. For now, they are just so nice to look at. It also reminds me that I need to make a list with my darling of all the fun things we need to do before baby. Thanks!
