Today is my boyfriend's birthday (the big 27!). As part of his birthday present I made this little love notes photo book for him. I'd like to think it's equal parts romantic and cheesy! The idea was to give him 27 love notes for his 27th birthday; I've been working on the notes all month. And I got to use my new sewing skills for stitching up the book. Here's what I did:1. Cut out 27 paper pages (5×5) and 27 fabric covers (same size). I stuck with a mostly orange and brown color scheme to keep things coherent. 2. Stitch photos to one side of the paper (I only used about 15 photos, the rest of the pages were blank on one side). And stitch the fabric to the other side, leaving one side open. This creates a pocket for each note. 3. Punch a hole through each page, in roughly the same place. 4. String the pages together with yarn. 5. Add the notes to each pocket. 6. Take a look at your huge stack of love notes and worry that maybe you've gone a little overboard… Most of the notes were like daily letters, but I also wrote a few lists (top 10 favorite things we've done together, etc.) and you can use the photos as a prompt for notes (all my photos were memories from our relationship). Just be sure to tuck those notes into the corresponding picture pocket. π Thanks for letting me share my cheesy love notes project with you! xo. emma

I Love this. I did a similar thing for my now husband. I started it years and years before I met him and just would randomly write notes to my future husband and put it into a book and gave it to him as a wedding present. We’ve been married 2.5 years now and he still hasn’t opened all the letters from my 15 or 18 year old or so version of myself. He is saving them…how cute is he!! Maybe he’ll be like 70 someday and read a love note from me when I was 20! I even put some photos in some of them! Anyway, it’s fun to see yours! Love Love Love it!!

Aw, this is cute. I think cheesy stuff can be particuarly sweet because you’re putting more thought into how you two actually feel about each other than into meeting other couple’s ideas of style. I hope he loves it. π
adorable! i love cheesy! the cheesier the better!! what a great gift. men loves the sentimental cheesy gifts. i remember my husbands and my second valentines day together (before we were married) and i was a total lame-o and forgot about the flippin holiday. on my lunch break on that v-day i went to cvs or rite-aid (a generic drug store) and bought little knick-knacks, mickey and minnie pez dispensers, a set of hot wheels cars, among other random things. with each item i wrote a little note like, “you’re the mickey to my minnie.” either way, he was tearing up in no time! to this day i havent told him that my “genius” (according to him, anyway) gifts were just a last minute shot in the dark. nevertheless, i learned a lot about him that valentines day; the simpler the better and you can never be too cheesy.
