We had an incredible time in California last week! I actually fell in love a little. We spent most of our time in LA and then traveled to Indio for Sucré to play at a Nylon Coachella party. Here are a few snapshots (all via my phone) that we captured along the way…
I'm pretty sure Square One is our favorite breakfast spot ever! Thier eggs benny is amazing.
Our pals from Seychelles invited us to tour their showroom and studio. It was a magical and inspiring afternoon. Seeing a design go from sketches to a prototype to an actual product is one of my favorite things ever!
Sucré did a bunch of private performances and filmed a live video for Vans. I had fun tagging along for that. This day was really inspiring. I like downtown LA with all the fabric shops and flower shops…

all the reason’s why i love L.A.! the fashion district is my second home, driving around like mad to get things done, i love it! plus you can’t beat the weather here too!
Southern California is absolutely gorgeous, but you also have to check out Northern California! San Francisco, Napa Valley, Lassen Volcanic National Park, Lake Shasta…both parts of the state are totally beautiful, and they’re completely different. I loved living in Anaheim, but I’d move back to Napa/SF in a heart beat.
I was just in California too, recently! Up north around San Francisco and Santa Cruz, and I love it to pieces. The energy is so relaxed and peaceful out there, and of course the strawberries are AMAZING 😀

Yay, looks like you had a GREAT CA/LA experience! I was born and raised in CA, but in a quieter area, just north of Santa Barbara. After living there and in San Francisco, I have to say that the other places are amazing in their own way, but it’s hard to beat the sunshine and diversity of LA.
Also, I listened to Sucre’s album the other day and was amazed. I don’t often like things upon first listen, and they have a beautiful, unique sound. Kudos for being such a talented couple!
Those strawberries look mouth-wateringly delicious…oh my. So many fun shots! How lucky that you got to visit the Seychelles showroom! I hope you’re having an amazing time 🙂
Man, sometimes I miss California (where I was born)… but living in Paris is pretty fantastic too! 🙂

I am originally from California {albeit the cooler & infinitely less plastic SF region lol}– its easy to love but very expensive to live in! Playing tourist is a great way to see CA– & getting paid to do visit is even better– congrats again to Sucre!
I’ve only heard great things about California so I think I’ll put it on my travel wishlist. Thanks for the lovely pictures that warm me up a bit (it was a cold April day here in Ottawa at 8 c (46.4 f) brrrrr).
OMG! I love your blog posts, but totally freaked when I saw the blue velvet cake! I love Milk! I went there during the only time I’ve been to LA, specifically for that cake which I had seen on a friends LJ. I loved it! And the veggie panini they had when I went there was also yummy 🙂
