We are loving skinny belts this season! They can add a little pop of color to an outfit. And there are so many ways to style them; you can wrap the long end around it's self or leave it long and loose. So we thought it would be fun to learn to make a few skinny belts from leather. Here's how we did it.1. Supplies: Leather (or faux leather or other super thick fabric), scissors, buckles, scrap paper (we used newspaper) and a cropodile. 2. Use the scrap paper to make a pattern for your belt. Mark where you want the holes to go (do you want the belt to fit high on your waist or low?). 3. Using your pattern cut out your leather. You may need to use a couple of pieces and stitch them together if your leather is not long enough. 4. Punch two holes in one end of the leather. 5. Place your buckle between the two holes and stitch it together. 6. On the other end of the belt punch holes for the buckle to secure into when you wear it. Have fun making belts that match your outfits! xo. emma
Emma's wearing: necklace thrifted, top c/o Lulus and jeans c/o GetWear (Emma got to design these jeans and they were made with her measurements!).

Cute idea!
Love your leather DIYs! Is this punch better than the other one you’ve recommended in the past? What’s the difference?

Nicole, the only big difference between the punching tools is that the orange one can punch deeper into the leather instead of only an inch or two from the edge. 😀 we use both! I’d get the orange one if making a first time purchase because it can do more. XOXO
Love this – you always inspire me to be more crafty!!
You are so right (as per usual! 🙂 ) i am loving skinny belts…thats all we are sellingat Accessorize at the minute. I have been wearing mine around my cardigans or over oversized jumpers, ooh or over jumpers over dresses. I also like to wrap silk scarves around them, less slippy then just wrapping a silk scarf around your waist. I love this post xxx
You make the belt so easy to make. It’s gorgeous. I like the way you paired it with the clothes. I was looking at my skinny belt today wondering if I should wear it and I definitely will
