Here's a cute way to customize a makeup brush set! These patterned brushes will make you happy each morning when you're getting ready. This project is perfect for the weekend!1. Supplies: wooden makeup brushes, Martha Stewart craft paint, paint brushes, and sanding block. 2. Sand down your brush handles. Unless the wood was already unfinished, this will help the paint to cling to the surface. 3. Paint a base coat, we chose white! Add a second coat if you need to. 4. Paint a pretty design. We chose polka dots and stripes with a messy, handmade look. Have fun! I love the custom look of the finished brushes! This is such a cute idea! I love that you can give a unified look to brushes from different brands too (I have a bit of a hodge podge), I can’t wait to give this a try.
I live in Texas, and there’s a store called Fiesta that sells a brand of really, really good makeup brushes called E.L.F. (Eyes, Lips, Face). They’re only a dollar each and it won’t kill your bank, and it won’t freak you out that you’re painting your $16+ makeup brushes from MAC >.> Actually, I like the E.L.F. better than the MAC, mostly because a good chunk of E.L.F. are synthetic bristles than real fur.

I like the idea, but I don’t think you give us enough tips for it to count as DIY instructions…how do you get the paint dry without sumdging when you put them down? Do you just have to hold them for the whole time they’re drying?!
