The Season for Giving…

RV6RV3We had an incredible year! We are so thankful. This month Red Velvet is donating funds to provide 90 orphans in Sudan with two new sets of clothing and shoes through His Voice Global. We're so thrilled and thankful to be able to do this. Thank you to everyone who supported Red Velvet this year! We're so so excited to begin 2012… lots of fun plans in the works! xo. elsie

  • that is great that you are passing your blessings on to others. some children in these impoverished countries do not even know what shoes are?! we have so much to be thankful for!

  • If anyone is looking for an AMAZING organization to donate to… Daniel’s Music Foundation is incredible.

    THE STORY:
A good friend of ours, Daniel, had a brain aneurysm when he was 12 years old. He had to relearn all the basic functions like walking, eating, and talking.

During his recovery music filled his life with passion and purpose. He is still what most would consider to be mentally challenged, but he is so kind, really funny, and an amazingly positive force of energy. The transformation music has given him is unbelievable.

Daniel’s Music Foundation was created by his family to help others gain confidence and joy through the power of music, just as it had helped Daniel.

Free music classes are provided to people of all ages with disabilities.

  • So happy to hear you’re giving back – makes your blog even more worth following! Fo those of you who don’t know what to buy your loved ones for christmas: why not buy charity gifts via for example Save the children? You can buy toys, clothes, food or why not pay for midwife training? Amazing.

  • you are really giving those children hope. i hope this inspires other blog readers like it has inspired me to help out.

  • Yay for love, generosity and compassion.
My friends and I rounded up a car full of clothing, jewelry/accessories, art supplies, toys, toiletries, toys and books for local shelters. And after meeting with some of the residents when I dropped off the mass of goodies, I realized yet again how incredibly awesome this connection is. It makes the world a little smaller and much happier, don’t you think.
You… and Red Velvet are truly wonderful. Your generosity of spirit all year through make for a more inspiring and full life. Thank you~*

  • Hi! While I don’t blog about charities on a regular basis, we do support a charity each month through our sponsorship program. We give away one spot each month on a first come, first serve basis. If you want to contact us about your special charity, write emma AT redvelvetart DOT com.
    Thanks so much! Elsie

  • that is it so beautiful, and im sure will be much appreciated. his voice global sounds like a charity worth checking out.

  • I’ve been following your blog for a while. I love all the crafts and fun stuff you guys do. You and our sister remind me of my own sister and myself, we even are a blond and a brunette. So to say I’m a fan is obvious.

But when I read how much you are helping these children who have very little, I started crying. I sometimes grow weary with the world because it’s cruel and heartbreaking. What you guys have done is beautiful. And inspiring. And truly worthy of awe. Thank you for giving me this kind of affirmation. The world can be amazing and kindness lives.

  • do you really think the most thing the children in Sudan need are clothes? How about food and a save life in general?
And what about the poor children in your own country a.k.a. as the most capitalist country in the world?!

  • Thanks so much for your donation to these kiddos! They were growing out of their last sets and they are all torn up! They are absolutely grateful for new clothes and shoes!

  • Well done, Red Velvet! Knowing this, not only will I be recommending your website to friends but I’ll be purchasing from you more often!

  • This could be off-topic, but if you’re anywhere in or near LA, there are a lot of fundraising events for the benefit of the less fortunate where you can participate in. Donate your clothes and shoes like what Greenopolis.com did and be rewarded for your actions. http://youtu.be/jk1mH9JvRr0

  • Fun list, T. I don’t know if I could handle major train treavl. I’ve done the trip between my hometown and Chicago a few times, which is a few hours, and something about the noise or the motion or something just leaves me not feeling very well. I’d love to do some European treavl someday, not sure where exactly. I’ve never been outside of North America, so it would all be new!

  • Oh, I know, those Red velvet girls are just mcaagil, aren’t they? I feel like, if I bought a Red Velvet dress, that some of their magic would rub off on me… I don’t have one particular dress that makes me feel better, but I do have a pair of red cowboy boots which make me feel invincible
