This summer I'm keeping it simple! My work goal list is out of control so I felt these personal goals should be realistic and attainable. Each one will add quality to my daily life. 1. Finish our home makeover. Easier said than done, but we've been making some good progress since returning from our honeymoon. It's definitely looking cuter than ever around here. 2. Frame, hang and print out wedding photos. I still haven't done this with with our engagement photos, so I know how easy it is to forget. I love having a lot of visual memories around our home, so this goal will be a good one to complete! 3. Buy a bicycle and ride it. First I need to find one, which means I need to go to the flea markets more… sounds good. Then I want to give it a little makeover (already have the colors planned out, of course) and ride it around town. This is, by far, my most difficult goal because I know I'll be pretty busy. That said, I really want to do it! 4. Develop Holga Film from wedding & Honeymoon. Again, I know how bad I can be about this because I have a couple rolls right now that are over a year old. All I need to do is drop them off at the photo shop. This is a must! At our wedding we had some Holgas sitting on tables at the reception and all the film got used (yay!)… very curious to see the photos from those rolls. Umm… and that last goal is work related, so never mind. I was just giving myself a reminder to focus on preparing for Autumn because it's a very busy time in the retail word…. can never be too prepared!
What are you goals for this summer? Leave me a link here and I'll read your blog post too! XO, elsie

you are so stunning!!
Awesome list! I have to pump up the tires of my bike and go for a ride 😀 Good luck on your list, can’t wait more pics from the wedding!
summer time goals never looked so pretty! love your handwriting 🙂 also, totally agree about your bike goal – summertime bike rides sound so lovely!
Love it! I always make huge lists of goals for seasons but they always seem a bit over ambitious. This summer my biggest goal is to dip into film photography, I just stocked up on 120 for an adorable twin-lens camera I bought sooo long ago.
I blogged my Winter goals (Southern Hemisphere girl here! :D) a few weeks ago:
http://royalmilktea.nu/2011/winter-to-do-list/
Yay! I love goal lists. Such fun goals you have too! I found my vintage bike on eBay, it was important for me to get one that had been fixed up after having a cheapy one from a garage sale that looked adorable but was unridable. Now I notice there are tons of cute vintage-style (but new) bikes for sale, but I like my old one, she has personality 🙂
Those are great goals! I just did one ! I love setting goals and checking them off!!

I love your goals, they’re precious! I also envy that you have a place that will develop your holga film. I’m in So Cal and no one will do it. 🙁

Cute photo!
Pea.ess. I love that photo of you! You are super pretty! <3
I just bought a new Townie by Electra Bike Company and I LOVE it. Totally an awesome cruiser for a small girl like me. 🙂

Those glasses are perfection! Are they vintage?
Beautiful portrait & good summertime goals! We got married in July 2010 and our photos are printed but still in a plastic bag… shame on us! My main goal for this summer is to sew more clothes for me as I settled this winter in US, bringing with me almost only winter clothes :S
OOooh fun! I just made my list last week – I’m looking forward to a simple but satisfying summer:

LOVE the earrings and glasses! Too cute!
I love starting a new season fresh with goals to aspire towards! I made a brief list of mine over on my blog recently:

Ha I just blogged my summer goals a couple weeks ago. I found this year I should try a few more general, less specific goals, coz specificity is what gets me.

I love, love, love making goals! It feels amazing! Good luck with all of yours girl! <3
To start a secret, creative project! And I can tell that your career has been really inspiring and helped me to dare take the leap! Pretty pic!
Nice goals!

I wish you luck with your bike goal! It is so worth it. I’ve started to train for my big summertime goal, which I’ve blogged about at http://bear-ears.blogspot.com/2011/06/in-training-to-be-even-more-awesome.html
I’ve got all sorts of goals, but this one has a deadline: July 9th.

What a fantastic idea!
I just quit my day job to pursue my creative career, so my summer goal is to not go crazy while I do it 😀

I love your bike goal, I am planning the same thing! 🙂
Such a lovely post <3
Great post, I always like to see what are other peoples’ goals… Mine is to go to the beach more often; I live by the beach and somehow don’t take enough advantage out of it 🙂 But tis summer I’m determined to change it.

I live by the beach and somehow don’t take enough advantage out of it 🙂 But tis summer I’m determined to change it.
*yay*! I’m excited for you and your future bike! 🙂
I made a goal list last month for my summer! So far I have had to veto one of them because of summer classes, but the rest are so going to happen!
http://mustachecupcakes.blogspot.com/2011/05/summer-goals.html
Those are good, good goals! I have a similar bike related one. As for the rest of mine, I am slowly working through this list–http://hummingbeepensthepaperback.blogspot.com/2011/01/my-birthday-list.html that I made at the beginning of the year! Good luck. Cannot wait to see the wedding photos, by the way! x
Gorgeous glasses! Good luck on your list 🙂
http://kaceydeamer.wordpress.com/2011/04/16/i-like-to-make-lists/
Here is my to-do list, which I’m sure I won’t complete by the end of summer. I posted it a little while back and since then have halfway completed item number 1, in that I have all of the supplies and materials ready to go but haven’t actually sat down to try something yet.
Good luck on your list!
I love how under your home makeover you wrote “This is very serious”! I have to remind myself to be serious sometimes, too 🙂
I’m looking for a bike as well.
I’m jealous of your goals! Also, your sunglasses 😉 My summer goals are posted at my blog right now: http://inchairblog.blogspot.com/2011/06/quick-updates.html
I can’t wait to see more wedding-related stuff!!
I do the same thing every season, write my goals.
I think the shorter, the better. It’s less overwhelming and more productive.
Love your sunnies!
xoxo
You have the best handwriting. I’ll have to make my own blog post of my goals, and I’ll let you know the link. Your goals are great!
That’s a great list. I need to write myself a good summer to do list. It creeps up on you and then is gone just as fast. Love those sunnies, they fit your face perfectly.
XOXO
To get my guest bedroom suitable for, uh, guests! And some other house related projects. Work in progress……

OH man,
you have quickly become my favourite blog to read. And I look forward to getting to work everyday and catching up on your pictures!
I haven’t quite written down my summer list yet. That should probably be the first goal.
But hopefully I will be able to post it on my blog by this weekend. http://autofocusphoto.blogspot.com/
Thanks for always brightening up my day!!
xo -Agnes
wow, that’s a stunning photo of you! 🙂 this is such a great idea, will try make myself some summer goals, (when it eventually gets summer again here in South-Africa, I’m in Hibernate-mode at the moment!)
post-university goals 🙂

Love the list Elsie! With pretty lists, hopefully things will get done more, no? That’s what i’m thinking. Some of my summertime goals are: try every ice cream flavour at the local ice cream shoppe, get more fit (so maybe a contradiction there?), spend some time in the studio and a weekend away thrifting. Thanks for the inspiration 🙂
http://soisaidyes.blogspot.com/2011/05/announcing.html These are my summer goals!! I love summer goals. I can’t wait til I have wedding stuff to put on my list!! I’m super excited to see your wedding pictures!
What beautiful goals, I am sure you will accomplish each and every one of them!! Have a wonderful summer girl! xoxo
A flea market bike will be so much fun. Nice and retro. It’ll definitely need handle tassels 😉

still can’t find those sunglasses anywhere! do you by any chance know the name of them?
Nice post! I want to pass my exams, show my love to all my beloved once, keep up the sporting, enjoy every day, develop my blog and too many other things! love xx
Those are great goals, because they’re all about fulfilling things for you! I’ll have to make my own list…
XO

you look like audrey in breakfast at tiffany’s!
p.s. i just about died when i noticed breakfast at tiffany’s being played in the background at your reception. by far, one of my favorite parts! favorite movie ever! love you!
Oh My God! I got married 2 years ago… and still haven’t printed anything!! 🙁
I love your blog and your creativity! thanks for your good mood! (a french woman living in mexico city)
I have a lot but I’m not quite sure I can finish them all before summer is over.
http://listography.com/ijustmightbecrazy/to_do/summer
Great goals! But what I will say about #3 is- take note of your surroundings and where you’d like to bike ride when thinking about purchasing one. I spent a chunk of money re-fabbing my Grandfather’s beautiful old bike from college and while it looks sooo lovely it isn’t very practical for long bike rides. I’m now getting a second more practical bike for longer/hill/trail rides.
Love summertime lists! I actually just created mine last night for my post this morning. Perfect Timing!!
PS – I love those flowered earrings you’re wearing! Where can I find them?
http://jns-runninginheels.blogspot.com
Looks totally do-able! I just dropped of some rolls of slide/medium format film at the lab that are from my wedding/honeymoon… 1 1/2 ago! =)

Hope you’ll have fun reaching these goals!

Lady! That photo is stunning of you and so summery. Pretty pretty. You’re goals are concise and always great to read. Can’t wait to read about the progress 🙂
xx Shelley
As for the bicycle, I would definitely suggest browsing Craigslist, too! I found a vintage, forest-green Schwinn Collegiate on Craigslist for like fifty bucks. And it’s mine now! :)) My goal is to ride it more this summer.
I love this! To-do lists are the best:)
Blogged here:

I totally understand the “print out wedding pictures” thing. Our wedding photos are on disc so I keep putting it off…and now our 4 year anniversary is June 23rd!!! So don’t feel too bad! 🙂
I got a bike two years ago for Christmas… last year I barely took it out. This year I really need to take it around town more.
Check out my other summer goals 🙂

You’re relaxing and doing fun stuff this summer. I can’t to do that, too. Right now, I have 5 Top Creative Business Goals: http://www.thriftcore.com/2011/06/what-are-your-summer-business-goals.html

You’ve inspired me to create my own list for this summer!
http://oldhatter.blogspot.com/2011/06/summer-goals.html
My summer goals have already begun, I am training for my first triathlon, I am dead smack in the middle of a 40 day challenge I have created for myself, 40 days of activity, not allowed to miss a day..and 40 days of eating breakfast, that has been the challenge.
So far, so good..I am also entering the first Warrior Dash Race in Ontario this summer with my teenage daughters. I can’t wait for full on summer 🙂
you will definitely achieve your goals. (depending on how hot it is there, or if you have an air conditioner.) i made a list too! http://shshh.tumblr.com/
good luck!

Your blog is such a bright spot in the ol’ Google Reader. Thank you for your upbeat attitude and fun posts!
Elsie SOS, I need inspiration so I need your tips on goal no 1 and no 3. We’re moving to a new home which is just very very cute (and vintage seeing that it is quite old) but I have no clue on where to begin and we’re getting a second hand red bicycle for my daughter’s 3rd birthday (which is today but we’re running late on getting it) and I need tips on how to restyle it to make it unique just for her. So, looking forward to your DIYs!!!
Sophia
PS I never printed any pics from my wedding except for 1 that I included in our thank you notes). My wedding album is still empty (I’m making it online and then someday I’ll get it printed out…) as well as my wedding film is still not finished in editing. Note, I got married back in 2006 :))))
those earrings….i die!
1 more blogging
2 Work out
3 catch up on reading
4 paint more
5 take more pictures
6 bake fresh bread every week

Such a great idea! It inspired me to do my own. Thanks for sharing! xo
I love making lists! Especially to do lists and goals lists!
Right now though I don’t have a summertime goal list because I am currently studying abroad in Paris. So basically finishing up this program and enjoying the city til I have to leave is my goal for the summer! Ha. I’ll make a goal list when I get back so I can keep myself busy. I have plans to revamp my blog and learn how to sew! Such a crazy summer for me! Ha.
By the way, I’ve been a reader of your blog for a while now. Sorry I’ve never stopped by before. I’m so incredibly happy for you and Jeremy! The photos you’ve been posting of your wedding have been absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to see more!
And now I’m ending this comment before it gets too long. Ha.
Check out my blog if you want to see pictures of my time here in Paris!

More of a fun activity list, than goals.
I’m pretty sure you’ll get them all done. I’m working on my 27 things before 28 list.
Loved seeing your goals! Especially the wedding photos and the developing film. I just got a juice box camera. I want to finish the roll and get it developed ASAP!
I actually did a post like this on Sunday. Here is my link: http://amylouwhogirl.blogspot.com/2011/06/june-goals.html

Mine are to finish my daughter’s room, organize my office, and ride my bike a lot.
First I have to comment on the adorable blue earrings – sweet vintage and they remind me of a pair my grandma wore and I would love to “dress up” in, wish I still had them now. Thanks for suggesting we post a summer goals list, got me to thinking and doing it, please visit my “newly re-started” blog @ http://scrapbooksandjournals.blogspot.com/

First I wanted to say that your blue flower earrings are adorable, remind me of a pair from my youth I remember seeing in someone’s jewelry box and I loved to play with. I need to figure out my goals… for now I’m good just playing it by ear… 🙂
I love your bike goal, it sounds very fun. One of my goals is to sew a bathing suit this summer, but it sounds so scary that I haven’t started! I’ve heard those are the best kind of goals though, the ones that thrill you into action.
Here is a blog post I did on summer goals!

Goals for the summer? Pass my final accountancy exam (blugh), read nicole krauss’ latest (i saw her give a reading a few days ago, she’s so inspiring), run another half-marathon on my own accord – i have a route planned, & will just see how i feel when i wake up one weekend… 🙂

Those are all great goals! I still haven’t made my goal list yet–this is definitely an inspiration to get it down on paper (or blog post 🙂 I know that TONS of handmade baby girl projects will be on the list, along with some kind of summer road trip and a few extra special summer activities with my boy 🙂
I love your blog Elsie, and congratulations 🙂 Here are my London Summer ‘to-do’s’ – they’re all non-work related to make sure I enjoy my free time and achieve lots creatively: http://thriftersoftheworldunite.com/2011/06/non-work-to-do-list/

I love your handwriting! Pretty! Mine isn’t a “summer goals” list per se, but it’s a list of 25 things to do before I turn 25- just 5 so far. You are so incredibly inspirational! Your blog has become my favorite. Thank you for your courage to follow your dreams and take a chance! Congratulations
You could have such a more powerful blog if you let people SEE what you’re talking about instead of just reading it.

My goal this summer is to make myself busy active and more productive. Your post inspired me. Thanks
The new openness rellay needs to start first with the FDA as so much of the rational behind their decisions is indeed a black box even to those in industry who interact with them constantly. Even when following Guidances there are still many things in a submission that are subject to interpretation so approach approval with uncertainty on how Agency will handle. One would trust FDA could demonstrate core scientific basis to decisions (or other good explanations ) rather than the political or mysterious bureaucratic motivations that appear to dominate thinking. At times potential benefits to patients appear to get lost in a overly stringent statistical dogma because those outcomes do not fit in to standards for objective criteria/interpretations.There does need to be better collaboration with FDA & Industry in the whole process and release of certain info could be more forthright. In particular companies should publish CRLs, perhaps with some elements redacted, to clarify why non-approvable , although underlying issue is effect of stock which is unpredictable in most cases.I do see a several legitimate reasons to keep manufacturing and clinical info secure from Industry perspective. Competitors could use such info for advancing their own programs or in marketing against the other companies post-approval. Often data is incomplete and/or not verified if a study halted early so could well take data out of its context of disease population, dosage, other treatments and additional factors. Frankly worry giving lawyers such complete access would open door to (more) frivolous lawsuits as they data mine to uncover clients in a suit (of course could reintroduce Preemption protection for this circumstance).
