HAPPY EARTH DAY! In honor of this special day I am sharing a DIY made from recycled vintage materials!

For this project you'll need… vintage luggage tags (I thrifted mine for 50 cents each) or a similar leather item, acrylic paint, paint brushes, and an acrylic paint sealer if you feel your item will be heavily used (this is optional).

Design your tags. Give them personality! I always like to sketch my ideas in advance. I chose a little bird, a feather and some cherry blossoms for my tags. Acrylic paint usually takes about two coats to get full coverage. Allow paint to dry between each coat.

After your images have dried (I also like to allow them to cure overnight) you can add a clear acrylic sealer over your images. Painting leather is fun and easy. I've made lots of projects with vintage leather and faux leather items! Happy Earth Day! XO, elsie
