Hello there! After many requests, I had a chance to put together a post with examples of photos taken with all my favorite camera apps for the iPhone. If you have an iPhone, these are my absolute favorite "must have" aps. If you don't, I hope you enjoy the silly phone photos anyway…. XO!
Picture Show This is my favorite photo app. It's super versatile and fun to play with. Here are some of my favorite images….
Instagram This is the best *free* app. I love the possibilities. The only thing I don't love about it is that all the photo options are square. It's really great for Twitter posting too. Here are a few favorites…
Camera Bag This is one of the first apps I ever downloaded. I like a lot of the effects. It's my favorite for super saturated color. Here are my favorite images….
Tilt Shift Generator This app is amazing for scenery and object shots, and sometimes for interesting face shots too. It's super trendy, but I happen to love it! Examples…
Lo-Mob This app has my favorite polaroid options. Some of the effects are a little too grungy for my taste, but overall it's worth a try because it really has a LOT of options. Here are a few favorites…
Quad Camera This is really fun. You can speed up or slow down the exposures and it takes multiple, quick photos and combines them into one image. Cute!
Hipstamatic I love the effects of this app. It's the most like a real camera since you have to take photos through the app instead of just editing them. It's fun, unpredictable and random. I like it….

A follow up post I would love you to do is tips on taking good self portraits with your phone. Honestly I look hideous in every photo I take… I really am sure I can’t look so bad in real life!! So any tips on how to hold your head, how far away phone for best effect, should I look into the camera or over the top (should I just put a paper bag over my head) would be greatly appreciated !! I love Picture Show and Tilt Shift Generator as well— have you seen the latest Picture Show update (a couple days ago I think)? They’ve added a tilt shift effect (which is more customizable than Tilt Shift Generator)!!!! One-stop-shop woot!

this is a great post. i’ve had the iphone for about a month now and LOVE it. today i found a great free app called retro camera. you should check it out if you haven’t already, its got 5 different types of retro cameras that you can use for different effects.

you should look into a app made in hong kong… search for PUDDING.. i promise.. you’ll LOVE IT! many different cameras and films to try out! And also Diptic is another FABULOUS app too!

An app I made that you might find interesting is called PhotoTangler ( http://www.solideightstudios.com/products/phototangler/iphone/ ), which offers a fun, unique solution for blending images together into collages.
Cannot wait to get these apps when I get my iPhone next month!
Try Blendcam, its free and can produce double exposures.
Do you know “Pudding Camera” ? It’s a Corean App. It’s great because you can choose between 5 or 6 kinds of lomography camera and 4 films for each.

Hey! Thanks for all the iPhone app suggestions. Have you seen any instagram photos that have a snow globe type effect? I’ve seen some really cool pictures with this effect, but can’t figure out how they do it! It just looks like a few white dots scattered on the photo. I”ve even commented on a few of these photos asking, but no response so far. Thanks for any insight you can give me!

I do not have an iPhone (totally envy it though!) I have a Droid. We have camera aps too!! The best is similar to Instagram, but it allows you to edit EVERYTHING! It’s my favorite, I believe they have it for the iPhone too and I really suggest you checking it out. There’s a free version and once you fall in love there’s a pretty cheap pro version 😉

Pixlr-o-matic is awesome too! Huge variety of filters, light effects and borders. Plus, it’s available for both iPhone and Android 🙂
How do you know you will be able to find film for some of the vintage cameras you find? Do you buy them and then research? I ran across a Kodak instamatic with no further information on it. It was cheap so it may not work, but would be so fun to try the vintage cameras.
