Hello friends! I’m here today to share my winter skincare routine with you. I love to tweak my routine from season to season. In the winter, I focus more on hydrating and gently caring for my skin. I have been working on drinking more water (and less wine!) as well as having a couple nights a week where I do a mask. Sometimes I do them in the mornings too—especially before a photo day!
My skin has been dry and also I’ve been getting microneedling with hyaluronic acid (at Skin Pharm if you live in Nashville—they are the BEST), so my skin has been peeling and sensitive during the healing times and I try to be extra gentle with it. Either way, I think the key is to focus on hydration this time of year and avoid things that dry out the skin.
Masks I am currently loving:
Summer Friday Overtime Mask – This mask smells like pumpkin pie. It tingles a little and works to polish away dead skin. I use it about once a month. I love the original Summer Friday mask even more because you can sleep in it.
Juice Beauty Green Apple Peel – This mask is for sure my most hardcore mask, meaning it makes my skin super red for a bit when I use it. I only use this when my skin is feeling super dull, but it is amazing and so effective for brighter skin.
Boscia Luminizing Pink Mask – This mask is SO MUCH FUN. It is bright pink and once it’s dry it peels off your face. It’s great for deep cleaning and minimizing pores.
Leahlani Meli Glow and Mermaid Mask – My top two. I do both of these masks about once a week and they are by far my most used masks because they are deeply moisturizing and rich in superfood ingredients for my skin. Like I said above, in the winter I focus most on staying moisturized, so these masks are perfect for that goal. They are not harsh at all.
My current everyday obsessions!
Ere Perez Herbal Face Tonic – I love love love this spray. I use a lot of face spray all year round, but especially in the winter. I usually do one extra spritz after my makeup is on so my skin looks more dewy.
Little Seed Farm Elasticity Serum – I love this oil because it’s a bit minty. It smells so nice and has just a bit of tingle to feel awake in the morning. I also love that it’s made here in Nashville.
Weleda Skin Food – My TRUE LOVE. I have become obsessed with Skin Food and carry it with me everywhere. For my face, I like the “light” cream because Skin Food is VERY thick. It’s awesome for knees and elbows and dry feet in the winter, but for the face the light one is a bit nicer. I also love that you can buy it at Target!
Bite Beauty Agave Lip Mask – The best. I put this on before bed all the time or before I apply lipstick for a more natural look. It’s very thick and lasts forever.
My current night serum.
Vapour Beauty Visionary Advanced Solution Serum – I love this serum. It’s kind of in between an oil and a cream. The ingredients are incredible and I wake up feeling so moisturized. I use it on my face and neck.
When it comes to makeup, I am pretty boring these days. I don’t stray too far from my same everyday makeup look. In fact, the only thing that really changes when I get dressed up is I wear more eyeliner. Here’s what I love!
Jane Iredale BB Cream – Since I use a beauty blender, this stuff lasts me forever. I know some people have left bad comments here about how pricey it is, but I swear it lasts me twice as long. I actually have to replace my primer twice as much as my BB Cream (which I consider full coverage foundation). I highly, highly recommend it.
Jane Iredale Naturally Matte Eyeshadow Kit – Love these. I only really need the white, pink and brown shade and I’m good. I do use better brushes than the ones it comes with though.
Kosas Lip Color in Undone – Just discovered this shade and it’s awesome.
Ecobrow Brow Liner – I have microblading (eyebrow tattoos) but they are done on the natural side, so they look natural when I don’t wear makeup. So when I do a full face, I add some more darkness with this.
100% Pure Bronzer – Love this bronzer and it’s definitely a must have in winter months.
RMS Luminizer – I love this highlighter. It lasts and lasts and it’s so easy to use!
I hope my routine was fun to read and maybe you see a product in here you’d like to try! If you have any questions, I am happy to share my experiences with you!! xoxo – Elsie

I bought the Jane Iredale BB cream based on your recommendation, I would agree that you get ALOT of product, and I don’t use a blender, just my fingers. I think considering the amount and quality of product that you get the price isn’t all that bad! Just my thoughts.
why do you only apply lipstick to the outter part of your bottom lip and leave the middle your natural color…?
I actually don’t, that’s just how lipstick fades naturally on my lips.
Can you recommend anything that will remove sun spots? Noticed a couple large ones starting to get darker on my face, other than SPF, anything else you recommend?
I just got a photofacial (BBL) at Skinpharm (in Nashville). It’s a laser treatment. I think dark spots are outside of what at home products can totally correct (although they could be prevented with products). xx!
Where is your pajama top from? It’s adorable!
It’s from Madewell 🙂
