i wanted to leave you with some beautiful thoughts before i leave for Kansas City today. I'll be back tomorrow! here are some beautiful things….

i recently ordered a new pack of instax film… when i use it my total will be over 500 instant photos this year! how is that for an accomplishment?!

  • Hi Elsie, Your photos on the previous post are fantastic. beautifully styled! But please don’t cut off your models heads when you put them on the site! facial expression/attitude seems like it should be an important part of you “look”!

  • aimee, i know what you’re saying. i am keeping photos with faces for extra images of each product, but those (just body and props) will be the main thumbnail image. i think it’s makes a really cute look for a page full of product & i personally like the style. XXOO.

  • ps. i should note that this is ONLY for dresses/fashion.. other items like jewelry and headbands will still show models faces. :))

  • I’m glad Kansas City is getting love. I think it’s a great medium sized city for the arts because the cost of living is so much cheaper than in other places. I hope you enjoy your trip.

  • 500 Instax photos? Where do you buy your film?? I bought some on a recent trip to Tokyo, but it’s so expensive here. Any tips?

  • Hah I live in the wonderful Kansas City. 🙂 I really do love my city. I plan on opening a boutique of my own one day in the lovely downtown area! 🙂

    I think your photoshoots are ALWAYS beautiful. I like the simplicity of the white background as it’s cool and crisp and emphasizes what’s actually for sale, but I agree that your image and type of products would be better shot with cute backgrounds. I love that you use friends as models. Your recent photoshoot is gorgeous. I love that door! I think it would be nice to offset really feminine articles with urban backdrops and masculine, or structured articles with pretty outdoor scenes. Anyways, I pretty much love everything you do. I read your blog everyday, I am taking my second online class from you, and I think you are just MAGIC. (sorry this comment is soooo long)

  • I just ordered my instax camara off of ebay. I got it in two days, because I didn’t want to wait any longer, it is amazing. I hope I have as much fun as you do with yours. Thanks for the insiration!!!!!I am hoping to make a heart on the wall or get one of those bookks for the little phtos!

  • It is so terrible that they put so many powerful corrupted people in leaership. Daley put Rob Hubberman to head the Chicago Public schools and he is allowing principals to have full power to do what they want even though its breaking Chicago teachers Union and board rules. For example, this year 2010, The Principal at Pasteur school is fire and nonrenewing teacher contracts just before they get tenured that are highly qualified, and firing tenure teachers. However, he is keeping teachers like Sandra Luna who started 2008 with only a substitute certificate and previous obtain a type 29 which is not even a standard certificate. All the other teachers he is getting rid of have standard certificates, are highly qualified teachers, and have more years than Sandra Luna who he is trying to keep. He most have some kind of favors going with her. In addition, he is trying to keep Olivia Lopez who he hired the 2009-2010 and placed in a special education position. This teacher did not have any background knowledge in special education, but he got her a emergency special education certificate. With this certificate the teacher must promise she will get a special education standard certificate. This teacher is not highly qualified to teach her position neither does she have even a complete year of teaching yet Mr. Gilliat has offered her a position for the 2010-2011 school year. In the Teachers Union Contract it clearly states when teachers are to lose their position, it should be according to tenure status and certification. So why is the Chicago Board of Education allowing James Gilliat, the principal at Pasteur to break their own contract with the union?
