  • How exciting! I agree, take the suitcase to Hawaii, I bet you wouldn’t have to worry about someone else mistaking it for theirs!

I just love your craft space!

    xoxo~Meg

  • Once, I saw on wishwishwish that she relined the suitcase with some pretty fabric and used it to hold all her undergarments. I thought that was such a cute idea. πŸ™‚

  • Hawaii sounds like fun! πŸ™‚

I have a vintage suitcase full of books in my studio/spare room. It looks pretty neat. I’d love to find another one someday -I’d probably use it for my yarn stash, or at least for part of it. I keep it in baskets now, and it’s cute that way too!

  • me and my b/f went to Hawaii last year for 3 weeks on business. I would not recommend Wakiki beach but North Shore is AMAZING and gorgeous. It is definitely a beautiful place and worth the trip if you’ve never been. Have fun!

  • Hawaii!!!!!1 Oh, you’re going to have so much fun!!! (: have fun tonight painting! can’t wait to see the finished product!

  • I got engaged there last June!! It’s such a beautiful and romantic place! You guys will have lots of fun

  • ideas for the awesome suitcase:
    1. yarn storage (keep it open though so you can see all the lovely yarn)

    2. find a vintage typewriter to fit inside of it (I once had one that was actually attached to a suitcase)

    3. the hawaii thing (jealous)

ps- I still can’t believe you have a teepee in your room!

  • Oh my!!! Youre gonna love it! They have THEE BEST vintage postcards!!! Don’t forget to pick some up for cheap!
    XO.

  • Fun trip planned! Hey, if you have a big enough flat space, open up the suitcase and use it as a big double picture frame. If it opens all the way, hang it on the the wall as a frame. πŸ™‚

  • How exciting! I bet Hawaii will be amazing! I can’t wait to see your newest projects and DIY’s (love those!!)

    xo,

P.S Your bear hats are presh!

  • Hawaii is our most favorite place in the whole wide world!! It’s a beautiful and life-changing place… You’re going to love it!!!! =) Do you know which island you’re going to?

  • Yay, hawaii! πŸ™‚ It’s always so great to have a vacay to look forward to! And I vote that the suitcase would look super-cute propped open and full to the brim with inspiring books. πŸ™‚ *swoon*

  • hawaii is great. each island has such different characteristics. Do you know which island you’re going too? If you happen to go to Kaui (the one at the end) then you have to go to the cutest shaved ice place. and not to far from there is the hanalei dolphin restaurant, they serve fresh caught fish every day.

  • Seeing as how the wind chills are in negative double digits tonight (Columbia, MO)- Hawaii sounds heavenly. On my bucket list. So jealous!

  • aloha elsie.

  • I have a pretty blue vintage suitcase and I keep all of my yarn and knitting needles in it. I’m always flying back and forth between college and my parents house and it’s wonderful to have all my knitting ready to roll :).

  • Oh Elsie, I just love your studio. How much I would love to have one like yours. But I have a cat at home, and she is just preety dumb and eat everything she puts her eyes on. Specially yarns. So as a craft lover I have always to be extra organized and have all my stuff well hidden for her. But one day I’ll be luck and have an studio separated from the house and I’ll be able to have all that colourful yarns on the shelf πŸ™‚ Have a nice trip to Hawaii, Aloha!

  • I think you should put some dividers in the suitcase and use it as a bead storer. Or as some where to sit cute toys in.(put a little mast in and some sails and those toys can play pirates)

  • Oooh what fun! What Island are you going to? I grew up on Oahu. I miss that place. The food is the best. If you go to Oahu make sure you visit Haleiwa(north shore) and get shave ice (snow cones) from Matsumoto’s – they have the best shave ice on the island!

  • HAWAII… pure magic & my favorite place on earth, right above China… We were just in Maui last Feb (whale month!!), there are NO words to describe how beautiful it is!…
    misschell

  • I heart hawaii more than anything. I used to live there and still am homesick for it…

I have 3 vintage suitcases (one of which used to belong to my grandad πŸ™‚ I have blankets in one, photographs in another, and 1940s-60s patterns in the 3rd πŸ™‚ Do let us know what you decide to do with yours! xXx

  • So fun! My husband just ACCIDENTALLY bought us a trip to Hawaii at the end of this month! πŸ™‚ We weren’t sure we could do it but he clicked the WRONG button on Priceline and now we’re going with our two little girls Lucy and Poppy! We’re excited for our accidental adventure and I hope you have fun on yours! I LOVE your blog and wish we lived closer so we could come to the parties in your shop! πŸ™‚
