jeremy and i don’t have our official stockings up yet (yea.. i said ‘official’.. this stuff is a big deal!). trying to decide what exactly to do… something we can keep for years would be cool. Jeremy’s mom has embroidered stockings for her entire family (CUTE!) and i want something special like that. a few cute ideas….

yay for Christmas!! and i think ugly holiday sweaters are totally fine on the condition that you realize and know fully how ugly they are when you put them on. :]
I’m currently taking a textile arts program, and for my felting project I made a pair of valenki (tradition Russian felted boots). However, they don’t exactly fit (it was my first time!) so I am planning to use them as stockings for Christmas. You can see them here:

I am also making some space themed ornaments for the tree so I think it will all go together pretty nicely!
It was pretty labour intensive to make the boots, though (like 8 hours), so if you want something quicker I think cute embroidered felt stockings would be awesome, too!

i saw wondddderful granny square (well i guess octogon) stockings somewhere floating along the blog world. they are amazing! you might be able to google the pattern but it looks pretty easy!

I made monster stokings for my boyfriend last year & he loved it. I made monster toe nails attached to the stockings. I used red velvet cloth for the stockings & for the monster toe nails I used chinese brocade with some oriental black & red motif. It looked wicked!
