hello you. i’ve had the sweetest Autumn weekend so far! the weather is chilly and I’ve been doing a little vintage shopping, decorating, making chili and decorating caramel apples. puuurfect.
here are 10 new things i absolutely adore…
1. my thermos collection (a few missing, but you get the idea). i think they make a cute little family.
2. pretty wooden sunglasses like these.
or these…. they’re gorgeous, right?
3. writing messages for my mr. on our chalkboard key rack (designed by my bestie). it’s so fun. i am always dying for him to notice the new messages. here’s my memo from today…
and james made these… and i am in love with this technique that Brooke of Sew She Sews explains. Here are some wallets that she made…
totally cool. i think she’s great and her etsy shop is gorgeous.
5. this amazing coat by mina perhonen. the yarn pattern steals my heart. in love.
6. rach surprised me with some really beautiful heather ross fabric. i am a huge fan of her designs and i’d been wanting this pattern badly…
trying to decide what to sew with it. here’s another pattern of her’s that i love.
(i used the pink version for curtains in my home)
7. this owl purse by Kate Spade is quite adorable…
8. the beautiful address file by Lovely Design.
it’s so classic and i want one so badly, even though i would probably not use it to store addresses. anyone else have a major soft spot for vintage paper?
9. this pretty illustration by vivienne strauss. i love it because it looks like two of my favorite things… Mad Men and cute little pugs. Vivienne’s style is amazing. really really pretty.
10. this funny little camera. i seriously have to try it. it’s a little disposable camera that adds silly frames to each image…
looks like fun to me. 🙂 This week I am finishing up designs for my holiday card collection and 2010 calendar! oooh, and i already started working on an Autumn playlist to share with you. my little sis, emma, and holly sarah are coming to Springfield to visit Rachel and I. i’ve been looking forward to this for months and months. can’t wait.
Hope your Sunday is pure magic. XO. elsie

fusing the bags is sooo fun but I have become a bag lady for sure always looking for fonts and cool colors and designs to make my own designs with! I cut out the letters shapes or make my own shapes. I cut the white part of the bags to fuse and put the shapes under the top layer… when it fuses it’s kinda cloudy but cute cute cute!!! =]
oh that saddle shoe tutorial is so awesome. i am so going to make that my next project!
happy sunday to you. x
I love the address file. I could definitely use something like that as I keep on losing/misplacing my address book! Can’t wait to see the new designs for the holidays and the calendar!!
hoot! that owl bag is gorgeous. Do I need another bag? Yus!
xoxo
Those saddle shoes remind me of being a kid! We used to have them.
I am loving this tutorial for fusing bags. I think I will give it a try again….didnt have much luck last time!
Thanks for the 10 things I love! I love reading it on Sundays.
I love the address file! I think I’d use it like a photo album/love notes file!
You did it again—I want that cute camera as well. Like I need another camera –but its oh so cute.
I also love vintage papers—I love going to flea markets in search of vintage cameras, buttons, paper and vintage magazines( so i can use the advertisements in wall art or scrapping).
You make me smile Elsie–thanks so much !!!!
Loving the coat,I want one NOW, and am a huge fan of Vivienne.

I’ll pass on a note to Jamie that you loved that fabric. She was generous enough to part with it and I knew you’d flip when you saw it!
I’m a little weak in the knees over the fused bags from SoSheSews. She uses the best colors!
Happy Sunday, lady. Tell the fam we said hello!

I am looking forward to seeing your holiday cards and your 2010 calendar. You are going to have these for sale, right?

I love those index cards, too! They were my inspiration for the escort cards at our wedding in May. Here they are if you see. I also used your rub-on for parts of it. =)

Oh yay, I am so glad that you liked the fabric! I thought it would be fun for you and Rachel! So, that fabric is from Heather’s now retired Munki Munki pajama line. I buy the pajamas and then cut them up to craft and sew with.
I would love to see what you end up doing with it! Enjoy!
Jaime

Did you realise that #4 looks like Emma’s sitting on a brick wall fence? LOL
elsie! i have a yellow thermos like that blue block one i picked up for you. it seems that the insulation on the inside might be broken (it rattles) but i thought it might still look fantastic with the others! i want you to have it!
I just love these posts! Would you mind if I also start doing it on my blog? ^_^
for my birthday Saturday my boyfriend gave me a vintage thermos. It’s a double one with woodgrain detail! it’s the cutest thing ever and i think you would absolutely love it! Perfect for one side cocoa, one side apple cider 🙂
