hi hi hi. thanks for being patient with me this past week. the craziest week is ooover now. it was amazing, but now i have tons of free time to catch up, get inspired, explore and blog!! yesssss.
here are 10 new things that i just adore:
1.vintage thermos'. i have a pretty big collection of these (so fun to collect!) and it's funny that even though i have said "enough is enough" i still can't resist a single one! they are all so unique and pretty. here's the newest one i found on Etsy this past week….
and here's another really cute one!
can you see how this addiction has grown? they're so great. i love shopping vintage.
2. vintage children's record players! i've been shopping for one for Penelope. there are so many pretty ones. i had one when i was a child and it's one of my very happy memories!
eeek! and shopping for records is even more fun. trying to decide if i should get one that can still play full size vinyl or one that's just for kiddos?
3. a gorgeous new photo by miss lulu.
4. allister's alice in wonderland necklace. oh so pretty.
inspires me so much. conceptual fashion and accessories is a fun project that is always and forever a little bit too far down on my to-do list! need to make time soon. :)
5. this look found on the BV etsy.
6. Lily Allen dressed like a panda bear, of course.
wish i would have thought of it! so cuuuute.
7. this cute little outfit!
8. our favorite jelly belly flavors= red apple & juicy pear.
yours?
9. Paul Frank. love him. always have.
such cuuute branding!
10. fancy cupcakes! any suggestions for where to find the best ones in Chicago?
LOOOVE YOU! happy monday. Elsie

I have that Paul Frank iPhone case. LOVE LOVE LOVE. Makes me happy every time I see it.
OMGZ it’s my iphone case!!! I love that thing… it so happy and fun! I only wish paul frank made ones for Blackberry! I love it because it is made of silcone so i can just wipe id down went it gets a bit grimey!!! <3333333 for that case!
Third here for Bleeding Heart! It’s always been my favorite bakery and I just went to a wedding catered by them…yummy!
It’s a great place to get inspired too…
Lovely is a great suggestion as well as Mollys… You can sit on swings at the cupcake bar!
My Mother-in-Law and I love Buttered Popcorn! LOL!
I must NOT start with the thermoses! I could get WAY addicted! I love cups and would easily get sucked in!
I see someone on the comments above me also had the 3rd record player down as a kid. Weird! Mine was actually my mom’s, but I guess that made it a little more special? Now I own one almost exactly like the #4 record player. LOVE it.
Swirtz hands down… get the vegan ones – it is amazing.
I totally had that record player!! The third one down! Whoa you always give me the flash backs!

love lily allen and popcorn flavored jelly beans!
hi elsie, i saw you this weekend at the renegade craft fair and told you i read your blog! π
had to share this: my favorite place to get cupcakes in chicago is called “sweet mandy b’s.” it is amazing, nothing super fancy and decorative about them, but their frosting is to die for! its on the corner of webster and racine (on webster) in lincoln park. to get there you can take the red line to fullerton, then the easiest way to get there would be walking down fullerton (towards sheffield/dominicks) until you get to racine, make a left and walk to webster.
let me know if you go there! π
mmmmm cupcakes! There needs to be cupcake flavored jelly beans!
I just LOVE your Monday posts!! Glad you had a good weekend!!
I totally thought of you when I got this email just now.
PIRATE T-SHIRTS… http://www.zazzle.com/talk+like+a+pirate+day+tshirts

I want a thermos now!
Looks like everyone had the third record player. I had one too! It was by fisher price and was meant to be unbreakable and yet I managed to break it on Xmas morning and i can remember my poor mum with the screwdriver trying to fix it before we went off to mass and you know what she fixed it and it stayed going for years after that!! Thanks for bringing that memory back to me!
Love EVERYTHING π Especially the bike! My best friend has it!!! π
tutti fruitti all the way!
and those vintage themoses are loveeeely!
I would ask Kelly Purkey http://kellypurkey.typepad.com/ about cupcakes!! I am pretty sure she has tried every cupcake place in Chicago!! She LOVES THEM!!
I second Sweet Mandy B’s! There are great stores close by, too. I wish I had a funky record player when I was a kid – maybe I need one for my son.
Enjoy Chicago –

I give the 48219th recommendation for Bleeding Heart Bakery. Seriously. Sangria cupcakes??? Look at how pretty… http://www.flickr.com/photos/thebleedingheartbakery/2479102261/in/set-72157604060000661/
I have been OBSESSED with Paul Frank since I was 14 and saw my first Julius and Clancey shirt at PacSun..haha! I have over 30+ of his shirts and am planning on making a blanket out of them.
Also, I have collected SO MANY thermoes for my etsy shop and am having trouble parting with them which I wasn’t expecting!….they Definately are unique and fun.
I think I may have been the first to think of being a panda:) I had my mom sew me up a panda costume when I was in the 4th grade, I am now almost 30ty. I should have saved it.
We still have the 3rd record player too – love it! It still works perfectly, so cool. Love the thermoses! (what is the plural for that?!)
Juicy Pear is my absolute fave too! Mmm.
Love that yellow thermos – so cool!
Third record player from the top — oh, how many hours I spent in my room playing those little records! And, juicy pear is my absolute favorite Jelly Belly!
Head to Bleeding Heart Bakery for tasty cupcakes and other yummy sweets!
