The weather in Springfield, MO has been great lately but fairly unpredictable. Some days it’s cold enough for a chunky sweater or a light coat. Some days you could wear a skirt or dress without tights and feel totally fine (or shorts, I just never seem to be able to find shorts that look good on me).
We’ve also had some pretty stormy nights lately. The kind where you wake up in the middle of the night and see flashes of lightning. I sort of love it once the initial terror wears off. 🙂
And while I’m on mixed message weather patterns and what not, can we all give a big round of applause to daylight savings! (Insert clapping emoji hands here) I could feel my mood immediately lifting once it started to stay bright after 5pm. Feels like I’ve got SO much more time in my day now. Wahoo!
Also, this is totally the kind of outfit I wore in high school. Part thrifted and part all-black. You might think I’m kind of edgy, but then you talk to me and I’ll start going on and on about how the new Muppets show is AWESOME and the illusion is shattered. Mixed messages man.
Emma’s wearing: Hat and sunnies/Target, Sweater/thrifted, Skirt/F21, Shoes/H&M, Purse/Zara.
Throwing it to you, Elsie….
Ah yes – I like this mixed messages talk. Because having a defined style is good, but it’s even better to have that ooone piece that makes you go, “huh?”. Some call it keepin’ it fresh. I call it less pressure to always match.
Elsie’s Wearing: Dress/Dillards, Shoes/Converse (a gift from my grandma), Necklace and Bag/Madewell, Fur balls/Amazon, Sunnies/Pre To Post Modern Vintage in Nashville.
Welcoming these warmer/longer days with OPEN ARMS. It’s been so beautiful around here!
Have a great day! Emma + Elsie

I love, love a long-sleeved dress. I’m constantly on the look out for a really good one. Elsie’s is perfect for me!

I used to live near Springfield, MO so I totally get what you’re saying about bipolar weather! Haha. And seriously, Target is amazing! I have to give myself a pep talk before I go in. “You are here for one item. Do not buy other things. You can do this!” 😀
I love your sweater and leather skirt combination Emma!

This one is even better than long sleeves because it seems to have 3/4 sleeves. Much more versatile/seasonless. I like them because I hate applying sunscreen all the time. They give coverage without looking too covered up.
You girls look great! I totally love the striped dress and the black shoes.

I’m from Canada and Daylight Savings has been my saving grace! Like, light past 7pm?! Wonderful, I’ll take it!
Adore that striped dress! I live in striped tops but weirdly have never bought stripes in anything else, I think I need to change this.

Elsie I love your outfit! Black and white with yellow sneaks! Can we all agree that keeping the tongue straight on Chucks is just never going to happen? It makes me feel better about my sideways-situation. IT’S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
I’m obsessed with that striped dress! It’s so fun!

Amazing that you have some thrifted clothes as well! I recommend that you watch the documentary called ‘The True Cost’, I guarantee that you’ll be shocked and it’ll open your eyes! And hopefully spark a positive change for you 🙂
Nothing but mixed weather here in Colorado! A spring dress is suitable in the morning and by noon a snow storm is moving in!!
