3 Natural Products I Am Loving Vol. 2

3 Natural Products I Am Loving I am having SO MUCH fun sharing these posts with you guys! I’ve been trying out so many different products this past year. There is a huge learning curve to switching over to more natural, non-toxic products. Some are better than others, and I am only sharing my absolute favorites with you here in this weekly series.

Today I am going to share a couple bath products and a couple household products. (I guess I technically am sharing more than three products, but I had a hard time choosing which ones to share this time… Haha!). OK, let’s get into it!

3 Natural Products I Am Loving
Herbivore Coco Rose Coconut Oil Body Polish

This combines two things I LOVE – exfoliation and body oil. I have dry skin, so I like to use a lot of oil and this contains vitamin E oil (the best!). It also smells like roses. I have been working on my shower/bath routine lately, and it feels really special to put effort into making it one of the best parts of the day! Why not?

3 Natural Products I Am Loving Coconut & Papaya Body Lotion

When I first switched all my products, it was overwhelming and kind of expensive because I did a lot at once. So I really appreciate affordable products that come in bigger bottles and last longer! I’ve been using this lotion for months, and it’s one of my favorites. It’s simple and straightforward and smells really nice.

3 Natural Products I Am Loving 42 Pressed Candle

I still haven’t found one candle to burn in our home. I’m on the hunt, but in the meantime, it’s been fun to have a big variety. I am working to only purchase soy candles because they are less toxic and burn cleaner. I am loving this 42 Pressed brand. I have been burning the Charleston and Chicago candles.

3 Natural Products I Am Loving 3 Natural Products I Am Loving 3 Natural Products I Am Loving Wool Dryer Balls

A couple months ago, I heard someone talking about how many toxic chemicals are in dryer sheets. It wasn’t necessarily on my radar, but I read a few articles and was immediately convinced to replace them with a natural alternative. So I ordered these dryer balls, which help to reduce static. You can add essential oils to the balls to give them a scent.

White Fir Essential Oil
This is my favorite oil scent, but I can see how it’s not for everyone. I would recommend choosing a scent that’s similar to what you would choose in dryer sheets. 🙂

3 Natural Products I Am LovingI hope this was helpful (or just a fun read – either way!!). I am always interested in trying new things and VERY much in a learning phase right now, so feel free to share any favorites of your own in the comments! xx- Elsie

  • I am really enjoying this new series Elsie. Long may it continue. I too have slowly been swapping out personal and household products for more natural ones. I’ve been on the prowl for a good deodorant. Any suggestions?

  • I LOVE Herbivore products – that body polish sounds incredible, I’ll definitely have to check that out. Those wool dryer balls seem like a really great alternative to dryer sheets and so versatile too that you can switch up the scent with essential oils! Thanks for the recommendations 🙂

  • Lisa, I just switched to Schmidts natural deodorant. It comes in a tub or in stick form, but I like the tub. It lasts for a long time and it comes in a bunch of really nice scents.

Here is a link to them on amazon:

I have been using it for about a year, and I really like it. I have heard that it can be irritating to some people’s armpits. I get that, it is pretty sensitive skin. But I have never had a problem, I think if you err on the side of under applying that can be avoided.

  • I love so much that you guys have been transitioning to more natural products. I’m a rep for an organics/probiotic company, so this is like, my favorite subject. I may be wrong on this, but I think soy wax is actually quite dirty-burning. Although better than paraffin wax for sure, beeswax is best (and actually purifying). Certainly harder to find with unique scents though.

  • Primal pit paste is the only natural deodorant I have ever been pleased with. And believe me I have tried a ton! My husband and I both swear by the stuff though.

  • I have been absolutly loving these natural product posts! Keep them coming Elsie!

  • Kiss my face liquid rock deodorant in my opinion is the most effective – I usually make my own with coconut oil, bicarbonate of soda and arrowroot, but this gets a bit messy in the Summer months.
I really love the brand “kiss my face” it is very affordable but unfortunately really hard to get hold of here in the U.K so I have to get my brother in law who, lives in Chicago to send it over!

  • It seems to be a very eventful year, some you can see once in a lifetime. We have to enjoy these miracles of nature.

  • I’ve also been making the effort to switch to less toxic products. I just bought blush and 10-free nail polish from 100% Pure today…and I can’t wait for it to come in the mail! I’ve been using their mascara, but I’m not totally convinced it’s the one I want to stick with. Any mascara suggestions?

  • For any UK readers- Home Bargains are selling the felt dryer balls for a couple pf pounds, 100% New Zealand Wool

  • Herbivore Botanicals is SO amazing. I now have over 10 products and I am completely hooked! I even bought my boyfriend the facial oil for men and he loves it. My favorite product is Orchid oil. the BEST facial oil. Seriously my skin feels so smooth. I saw an improvement within a week. TRY!!

  • Hey! Love that you’re highlighting natural products! I’m all about toxin-free living so love seeing these items here! Keep up the good work! BEen loving your blog for a loooong time! – Kat

  • Great picks! I’ve been curious about dryer balls and I might have to try that polish on my dry hands.

  • I will second Schmidts! I have super sensitive skin and was fine using regular deodorant up until about a year ago, when my body decided it no longer liked it. Cue itchy and chafed skin and me desperate for a natural alternative. Do NOT bother with Toms. It may be easier to find as a natural alternative, but it does nothing. My second natural try was Schmidts and low and behold, a year later, I’m still loving it.

I would highly recommend ordering directly from their website if you want a stick— I’m not sure they have them on Amazon! Plus, their website has coupons scattered throughout. I use the Ylang-Ylang + calendula stick (sensitive skin at play again!) and I’d say it has a pretty natural smell to it. This kind may not be for everyone, but is more of a mellow scent.

    Here’s their website: https://schmidtsdeodorant.com/index.html

  • LOVING these all natural posts! As a gal with sensitive skin and who’s trying to be more eco-conscious, I love getting a peak at what others are using. And an eco-friendly option to dryer sheets? I’m getting some wool balls ASAP!

  • Hi Elsie,

Thanks so much for sharing these natural products, I’ve been loving it! About 2 years ago I started on the journey of making my home more green and natural, it can be really daunting at first. I now diy a lot of my household cleaners and beauty products (including things like laundry detergent and mascara) it’s been fun! I blog about it here: http://www.cleantothecore.com

  • Bought the deodorant you suggested in your last post. Loving the smell but unfortunately it wasn’t quite strong enough. But I am currently pregnant so will try again after baby is here. Also want to try it with a crystal deodorant stone. Have you tried these? My sister and her boyfriend love them. Planning to do the same as her and use it in combination with your suggestion so I also get a nice smell. Hoping both together will be strong enough for me 🙂

  • Suzie, just went through this same hunt for mascara. Kris Carr has an awesome review of 13 different cruelty and natural mascaras (with their EWG rank!) on her website: http://kriscarr.com/blog/all-natural-mascara-reviews/. I ended up going with Bare Minerals’ Lash Domination and, a few days into using it, I’m happy with the switch.

Also, for make up, have you heard of Skin Deep? They’re a full fledged cosmetics database that list ingredients, environmental rankings, cruelty-free notes, etc on it. Super great for looking up current products and taking future products into consideration. http://www.ewg.org/skindeep/

    Good luck!

  • Hmm- I have heard that mascara is one of the most toxic things. But I don’t wear it very much anymore because I usually have eyelash extensions on (which I LOVE and highly recommend) so I don’t wear any at all.
    xx- Elsie

  • Awe- I’m sorry to hear that. I have heard a few people say it takes time when you first transition over.
No, I haven’t tried a stone. I’ll have to look into that!
    xx- Elsie

  • I made dryer balls as gifts last Christmas. it was fun and easy and something you guys should do as a tutorial on your site. Seems like something you and your readers would enjoy!

  • I am SO not surprised dryer sheets contain a ton of chemicals. I have sentitive skin and never use them, but a wool alternative might just be the way to go! Thanks for sharing! 🙂

  • If you’re looking for a great scent, my favorite is Amber + Oakmoss from Artumie Candle studio in Chicago. I carry them in my shop and I sell out constantly!

  • I wash my clothes in a mixture of washing soda, baking soda & liquid Castille soap. Sometimes I add some essential oil to the mix too, if the brand of soap I bought isnt strong enough. Then I dry my clothes with wool dryer balls, that I often sprinkle with essential oils. I want to start diffusing too, but I haven’t splurged on the necessary products.
