Guys, July 4th is almost here! Happy (early) Independence Day!!! This means fireworks, cookouts, ice cream, and patriotic-inspired treats. 🙂 And if you’re not from the USA, you’ll have to just bear with us Americans. We love our Independence Day.
I whipped up these red, white and blue(berry) milkshakes in honor of the soon-to-be-here holiday. The base is a vanilla and strawberry milkshake, which you probably don’t need a recipe to, now do you.
But the top, well that’s a blueberry whipped cream I decided to try out and loved how it turned out. Super easy to make and packs a fun little added flavor to the top of these milkshakes.
For the blueberry whipped cream, just whip together 1 cup heavy whipping cream and a heaping tablespoon of blueberry juice. Whip until soft peaks form. You can buy premade blueberry juice or you can blend up 1/2 cup fresh or frozen (and thawed) blueberries, and then strain through a fine mesh strainer.
That’s it! Easy peasy. I hope this season is full of summer treats for you, especially if you’re in the USA and celebrating with us this week! xx. Emma

My grocery store just started carrying my favorite brand of non-dairy ice cream, and I was thinking of making my first dairy-free “milk” shake. This post just pushed me over the edge!
These look absolutely delicious! Since it was Canada day yesterday, maybe I could do it with strawberry and vanilla instead. But regardless, I’m always up for a good milkshake!
Just beautiful!
