swI always seem to be swimsuit shopping around this time of year. I think because our anniversary is in May, so we’re usually planning a trip around now. Also, I LOVE planning ahead for warmer weather.
If you’re in the market for a new swimsuit, here’s a big roundup of some favorites I’ve found while shopping. I’m putting a *star by the ones I own and love.
One piece swimsuits– 1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / *6 / 7 / 8 / 9 / 10 (omg and this one too!)
High waisted bikinis are still my absolute favorite. They are so flattering and easy to wear. The thing I love most is how easy they are to mix and match. I have a bunch of patterns and basics that mix and match endlessly.

Peplum swimsuits are my new obsession. I just got two before our trip to Chile, and they were really fun and easy to wear. They kind of play as a one piece with the fit benefits of a two piece (in case your top and bottom are two different sizes!). The only downside was that the extra peplum fabric was kind of floaty and crazy in the water, so I tied mine in a knot while I was actually in the water.
I hesitate to use the term “universally flattering” about almost anything, but this swimsuit style really is flattering on so many different body types, and easier to wear than a bikini OR a one piece.

I love those peplum suits! I’ve never seen them before! I had a baby a couple months ago so I’ve been living under a rock. These could be perfect for my postpartum bod this summer. 🙂

ugh….I hate swimsuit shopping. It’s so hard to find one that doesn’t show more skin than I am comfortable showing, but I don’t want to look like my grandmother either. lol
I’ve been ogling over the Raising Wild Swim collection. They are so cute but a little out of my price range. I ended up browsing through TJ Maxx the other day and found a suit that I really have fallen in love with! It’s a black and white one piece 🙂 I tried to find the link for you but can’t seem to find it online!

I love high wasted bikinis but I actually haven’t tried one out. Haven’t been able to swim for a few summers anyway, but hell, I think I should go buy one sometime as you’re right, they look so good on everyone and they do look like they’re easy to wear.

This takes me back to the 70’s when there was the one piece, the two piece and the bikini. The two piece was the more conservative bikini with the BIG bottoms. They are just as unflattering as they were back then on skinny girls. To really pull this look off you need to have a full figure like Sophie, Raquel and Marilyn. Otherwise, it’s like you’re going out in pubic with your “Granny Panties” on! Thanks for the chuckle!

Good call on not using “universally flattering” because I can assure you that if you have a small waist and large hips and thighs………Peplum is THE worst fit! That said, High waist is flattering but then again…..having a tan “bar” between the end of my breasts and just above my belly botton is not my ideal “tan”. So I will stick with regular bikinis! But the patterns are lovely on pretty much all your choices.
So many great suits on rosegal.com. Huge variety (over 1,000) at insanely good prices (many under $20 for a SET). I just bought four for an upcoming vacation 🙂 I also like Victoria’s Secret for the simple fact that I can order tops & bottoms separately and know they’ll fit based on my bra size.
