Last year for Friendsgiving I made Cranberry Jello Shots, and I decided to keep the cranberry tradition running for this year’s cocktail.
Prosecco Cranberry Mimosa, serves one.
Prosecco
cranberry juice
thyme
fresh cranberries
There is much debate on the proper proportions for a mimosa. I believe half Champagne, half juice is technically correct. In my opinion, the 2 parts Champagne (and in this case, Prosecco) to 1 part juice is the best version. It’s less sweet and deeeelicious.
Garnish with a few pieces of thyme inside the glass and a few cranberries on a stick.
Need a mocktail version? I’ve got you covered.
Choose between sparkling juice (I used peach) and ginger ale to replace the Champagne or Prosecco. These are great alternatives that still create a sparkling drink. Ginger ale is sweeter.
I always make the cocktail for our family Thanksgiving too. It’s so fun. I try a different one each year, and I like recipes like this that allow guests to serve themselves. Do you make cocktails for your Thanksgiving celebration? If so, share your traditions! I’d love to hear.
Cheers!! xo. Elsie

Aww, this is such a simple but brilliant idea! Plus, it should be easy to tackle for a larger group of people, rather than trying to make super fancy cocktails for 12.

Hi Rena! We included a mocktail version too 🙂 -Jacki
These look so beautiful and delicious!
At the restaurant where I used to be a bartender, we called cranberry mimosas “poinsettias” 🙂 Though yours look MUCH fancier than the ones we served, lol!
You guys inspired me to try a nonalcoholic version of this drink with ginger beer last week for my Thanksgiving shoot. Thanks for introducing me to the wonder that is ginger beer! 😉
Looks good.
Mocktail version sounds interesting…will try soon..

Yes! Gotta have a signature cocktails at Holiday gathering. And it must be something guests can serve themselves. Last year I did cranberry margaritas (I just made a big pitcher) and this year I’m making a big batch of apple cider sparkling sangria!
Eeeeek this has made me feel all christmassy 🙂 Looks so pretty and sounds delicious!

THANK YOU for the mocktail version! It’s tradition for my family to make mimosas on Christmas, and I was a bit side I couldn’t participate this year due to my pregnancy. Butttt I am pretty sure this mocktail is gonna make up for it 😉
I love this, Cranberry-Raspberry juice is also delicious with Champagne or Prosecco. But my favorite for Thanksgiving is Pama (pomegranate liqueur) plus Champagne. And hot apple cider with Fireball and Sailor Jerry Rum on the side for guests to suit themselves.
This drink has it’s own name – OJ and bubbly is a mimosa, cranberry and bubbly is a RED HEAD.
this looks so delicious!
ps: of course i went to see the jello shots as well 🙂

Best holiday mimosa ever, I can’t wait to give this a shot. Though I will take champagne in pretty much any form…recently obsessed with Gloria Ferrer Rose. Crisp and a tiny bit sweet!

gotta try this recipe!
This looks delicious! I recently posted a recipe for a really similar Cranberry Mimosa, but I mulled the cranberry juice the same way you do wine – it’s amazing! And can be made in advance so is perfect for Thanksgiving as well.
Check it out here: http://www.boxesandjars.com/spiced-cranberry-mimosa-2/
Thanks!!!
This just looks way too yummy. So can’t wait to try a variation!!

We call these poinsettias- A Christmas morning tradition in my house! the thyme is a nice addition though!
I love these! They are my families’ traditional Christmas morning drink! I’m going to try adding the thyme this year, thanks for the idea!
We also make cranberry mimosas, but we use homemade cranberry juice. You guys could do a post on homemade cranberry juice – it’s super easy and the results are delicious. Way less sweet than the store version (and you can sweeten to taste as well which is always nice).
