I’m normally a sucker for hand illustrations like her skeleton prints but I LOVE the French Advertisements Poster “Bieres de la Meuse” by Mucha – 015.” I’m also a Graphic Designer and I did my first major research project on how beautiful and tasteful advertising was during the Belle Epoque period as compared to now! If there were any give away that I would cry if I won, this would be it. I’ve been obsessing over curious prints for a while and haven’t been able to decide which to choose! Of course it would be an insect or anatomy print… probably Vintage Science Plate Poster Butterflies or the Brains Zombie one… Yeah, probably the brains zombie.
I really like the “La Loie Fuller by Cheret” the simplicity of this print is really nice to me. I also love the motion in her skirt as well as the smooth transition between colors. I think it’s really beautiful what Katie has done with these prints, they are all pretty wonderful!

I adore the job cigarettes poster. The original design is by alphonse mucha, an art nuevo artist who did a lot of beautiful design work like this one. He also designed jewellery, sets and costumes and programs for plays, menus for cafes as well as large fine art pieces too. He’s a bit of a hero to me so that print stood out slightly over the rest of the wonderful collection.

My favorite print is “The Old Woman in the Wood.” I love how the print tells of a fairy tale that was written by the Brothers Grimm. I am a sucker for fairytales and this print shows the best part of the story. I can see this print perfectly on one my walls.

I love all of the skeleton ones, but there is one with a skeleton casually leaning against a desk with his hand resting on a skull that really spoke to me.
I love all the insects ones! And I especially love the fact that they scan the book and give you a copy: it might be less “original”, but destroying books to have pretty pictures on you wall is a crime!

Vintage Anatomy. Brains! I love this print because “brain” has special meaning to me. My best friend and I call each other “Brain” or “Brainy” all the time, instead of using our real names. It is just a nickname we created when we were young that now has special meaning to us both.

What a lovely shop. I was immediately drawn to “11×17 Vintage Science Plate Poster. Sea shells. Nautilus. Reproduction – 006”. It is gorgeous, dignified, and just a touch sinister. In short, a find as rare as once might hope for while combing the beach for those creatures depicted. Keep up the wonderful work!
I work at a custom frame shop in Fort Wayne, IN. I can only imagine how amazingly fun it would be to frame these prints! I really enjoy framing lithograhs and such!
The “Deer Skeleton” was my favorite because it has such a dynamic pose, and so much life despite being a skeleton…haha!
