Random Saturday post for you all today. I just wanted to pop in and share a little bit of recent press we received from Inside Out magazine. They were kind enough to feature one of my very favorite projects from our book, Happy Handmade Home.
I don't know about you, but I often live with a constant little voice in the back of my mind that says things like, "Your work sucks! You don't know what you're doing! And you look totally ridiculous trying!" I know a lot of creative friends who live with similar insecurities and self doubt. So, it's a total honor when other publications recognize your work in this way. It means a lot to me, so I thought I'd share.
Happy weekend! Hope it's a good one for you! I'm spending most of today practicing recipes for an upcoming business venture (more on that soon). And I'll be spending Sunday with my family celebrating Easter. xo. Emma

Congratulations Emma! I always have insecurities about my creative work too, and it’s really prevented me from pursuing creating things in the past. I’m trying to break those insecurities down and become more confident in my work – it’s a process, but your team at ABM has definitely helped π

This is so awesome, congratulations!! I can completely relate to the insecurities + self-doubt. Just recently I asked a friend for some creative help who inadvertently punched a few little holes in my balloon of dreams… But you just gotta get back up there + keep at it, right? It’s moments like these that make it all worth while! What a great validation to your work!! Happy Easter! π
I totally have that little voice many times as well. I think it’s just bad self-esteem! This is an awesome achievement. so happy that you guys are getting the attention you well deserve! Xoxo

Congrats on the article! It’s kinda reassuring to hear that super creative folks hear that same “little voice” and have some of the same self-doubts as the rest of us. Y’all inspire me to be more creative and try new things. Have a blessed Easter!
This looks amazing! So proud!

Yay you guys are awesome and deserve good press! I think that insecurity is part of the whole creative thing, it keeps us striving and searching xx
I recently heard a musician saying something very wise in an interview:
“Creativity comes from a place of dissatisfaction. Only the hungry monkey thinks of stapling boxes to get to the banana hanging from the ceiling, not the one who is full.”
This one helps my little voice in the back of my head π
Happy Easter!
xx
They call it imposter syndrome and I get it constantly too. I’ve been listening to an AMAZING podcast lately called Being Boss, it’s about being a female creative entrepreneur and they give amazing tips on everything business related, but also talk about how to fight those types of feelings. You should check it out! xo
Honestly, Emma, I have lived with that little voice for my entire creative existence. It was only last month that I came to the full understanding that this was a voice, not the truth! So happy you are featured in Inside Out–congrats! And happy Easter!
Good luck to your new project Emma ( I know you will rock it) and Happy Easter to you and your family.
That’s really awesome! ( I’ve got the same little voice in my own head.)
Congratulations!!! That’s great!!!!
That’s amazing I love all your diys!

That’s so exciting!! It’s always awesome to see your work in “official” print! (Aka not something you’ve printed yourself. π )
