A Beautiful Mess Actions Actions are the quickest and easiest way to edit your photos. It's literally one-click editing! If you haven't heard about actions before, read all about them here. 

A Beautiful Mess Actions When I use actions I normally settle into just using one or two actions over and over again, but after three months of using these I can honestly say that I still haven't found just one favorite. I'm always skipping around. 

We've been using them to edit all of the photos here since last month, and we always note which actions we used in the credits line at the bottom of each post.

  • OH MY GOD!!! Fingers and toes crossed for this one. I’ve been wanting them since the release. My favorite is the Folk collection. Bella and Clementine are my favorite actions.

  • I love them all but especially the essence of the folk collection!! I am a college student in design and the actions would be so helpful for school and personal projects!! :))

  • realllllly hoping I win this because I’ve been dying to buy the actions, but haven’t had the money yet! As a photographer myself, I really appreciate you taking the time to make these. I know how hard they can be and mostly time consuming. I really appreciate all the work that was put in to these and the countless times adjusting settings until everything was just right;)

    I love the folk collection the most I think (although the other two action sets are Bad A**. The action “Sunday” may just be my favorite. Love the tones!

  • The Folk Collection is definitely my favourite, the warm tones and sunset vibe suit my photography style the most. After taking the Mastering Your DSLR course, this would be a perfect way to enhance the pictures I took!

  • Okay, I can’t tell you how happy I am that you’re doing a giveaway with these. I want them so bad! I use actions all the time, but your collection is so beautiful, but unfortunately too pricey for someone new to the blogging scene (who isn’t quite making money yet).

    My favorite collection is probably folk, because they’re so dreamy and wonderful. Makes me want to go take a million pictures on a farm.

  • My favorite collection of these is the folk collection. Every thing seems to be so soft and sweet! Imogen is probably my favorite action because it seems like every thing needs to be taken during the golden hour, my favorite hour ever. It’s also the name of my great grandmother! As an aspiring photographer working with film and having the availability to scanning my film in to the computer this is perfect for editing.

  • Ahh I would REALLY love any and all of these actions. I haven’t gotten around to using Photoshop/Lightroom actions all that much and would love to learn. Big fan of Lennon and/or Autumn in the Classic collection! I love warming and cooling (or mellowing in the case of the Lennon) my photographs for just the right mood.

  • For a while I have been wanting to take my photography up a notch with experimenting with actions. I really have been wanting to purchase a collection from you guys, but know that in the end I will want ALL of them. 🙂

    My favorite collection is the Fresh Collection and more specifically I like the August action and for black/white I like the Boston action (maybe I am just biased to the name?).

My husband and I got married a few months ago in whirlwind fashion (9-year relationship; 8-week engagement!) , and as we did everything so fast and so homemade, I didn’t really have time to think about what I wanted from the photos. We have some lovely shots done by family and friends, but they could be AMAZING edited with the Fresh actions.

    I would say that my favorite collection would be definitively the Signature Collection! And I do not know what specific action I like the most! There are so many, and so beautiful… But one of my favorites is Cleo. You are ale to bring all the colors to life and at the same time not loosing contrast so every detail is visible.   • My favourite collection is the Folk collection! I’m a sucker for classic and vintage looking photos. The film effect and the old cameras. It’s hard to pick a favourite but I think I love light leak 3, with it’s pretty gradient, it’s like fuzzy warm feelings. I think that little imperfections make a photo all the more loveable so the double exposures, light leaks and Holga are all top of my list too!

This collection provides a complete spectrum of looks. From the crispness of Frankie to the vintage vibe of Jean (which happen to be my two favorite examples, though I could just love the photos. Such great photos!), Signature has everything you need and, even better, it has everything you’d want!

    I just picked up your book at the local bookstore, I have been craving inspiration to pick up my camera more. I have only had the chance to flip through it, amazing! I can hardly wait to try some of the inspirations.

  • fresh is my fave and so i bought it and my best are the colour spot ones- used them on a lot of my duller wedding photos to liven them up a bit but sooooo wish i had the other sets too so i could find another favourite!! Xx

  • I can’t rave enough about how much I LOVE the actions you developed. I splurged and bought the whole collection a while back and highly recommend trying all of them out. I find that I use more from the Folk collection than any other (Willis is my all-time fave!). They save SO much time and have allowed me to produce more on my blog than in the past. I think I use them now for every post I do and for my everyday life photos. Seriously, GOOD JOB!

I like that the folk collection gives a film feel that I love! I love Penelope and Georgia from the signature collection and I think my favorite from the folk collection is Norma. There honestly wasn’t one that I saw that I thought was too much! Often I see over-processing and it takes away from the image. These seem to give just the right amount of mood without the distractions.

The Photoshop actions are amazing, was thinking about investing in them but now I have a chance to win them. It’s hard to choose which is my favorite. The Folk Collection has Light Leak 4 which has this ethereal hazy look. The Fresh Collection has the four black & white actions that add depth and character. The Signature Collection has a lot of color popping freshness, like color pop. I guess what I’m saying is that I can’t choose just one collection or even just one action. Guess I’ll have to win the complete collection which will allow me to combine effects from all three.

I also really enjoyed the effect of the multiple exposure(s) option. Each photo in the Folk collection was warm and that added to the depth of the picture’s space. All the collections have so much to offer and add to a photographer’s work.
