I'm the happiest lady in all the land! Two days ago Mr. Larson surprised me with the news that he was ready to adopt a second puppy… for Christmas! Needless to say, I flipped out. We've spent the last 24 hours in puppy heaven with this little one. She's a dapple dachshund. I’m afraid I have some bad news: that adorable puppy, once it’s grown, will actually be a dachshund. Forever.
Such a cutie-pie! Working at a vet’s office means I’ve seen many cute Christmas puppies, but she is definitely at the top of the adorable list!
As far as names, she looks like a Beatrix to me. Some other names running through my mind are Violet, Mae, Eleanor, or maybe Olive. Such a cute puppy deserves an equally cute name!

We have a long-haired dappled dachshund. Dachshunds are mine and my kids’s favorite breed. They are super sweet. My son, age 7, when we got ours named him Dachslee (pronounce the beginning the same as the beginning of the breed name). Anyway, congratulations. They are wonderful dogs.

Maybe a Swedish name to go with your surname!? How about Steig (you know the guy who wrote “The girl with the dragon tattoo”?) , or Stickan as her nickname would be. Stickan also means the Splinter in Swedish. Or Sessan, which is short for Prinsessan, the Princess. According to old posh Swedish ladies, when they were kids, all daschhunds were called Sessan. 🙂 Anyho, she is stunning, and I’ve decided that when I adopt a second dog, it’ll be a dapple dasch!
