I am so excited to share today’s post with you in partnership with Sony Music. They have the most incredible holiday playlist available which you can stream here that is just packed with all my favorites! There’s a great mix of classics and contemporary choices. A few of my favorites are “Blue Christmas” by Elvis, “Let it Snow! Let it Snow! Let it Snow!” by Pentatonix, “Silver Bells” by Dean Martin, “Jingle Bells” the Glee Cast Version, and the song that inspired this craft—Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas is You!” I’d love to hear some of your favorite Christmas songs in the comments!
Supplies Needed:
-white paper tags
-large letter stickers
-wood beads
-yarn
-pom pom maker
Step one: Make one tag for every letter. You can, of course, choose totally different song lyrics or titles than I did—whatever best fits your home and your seasons of life!
Step 2: Use wood beads to string your lyrics onto yarn, use two beads to separate every word, and add two at the beginning and end of each banner.
Step 3: Make pom poms. Giant pom poms, if possible. This is the pom pom maker I used for the XL poms. And I used this set for the smaller ones. I used chunky yarn and layered different colors on each pom pom. These are somewhat time consuming, so a great project to do while listening to the holiday playlist!
To hang the pom poms, I added a wood bead at the beginning and end and then two beads between each pom pom. They are super chunky, so I just used a tapestry needle to sew yarn through the center of each pom.
Next, hang it all up and enjoy it with some twinkle lights and hot cocoa!
I LOVE making my own holiday decor, and my favorites are projects like this that I can make in one evening while listening to a great holiday playlist. During the holiday rush, it really helps me to unwind and clear my head at the end of a long day. My husband always jokes that he can tell when I’m stressed because I can’t stop beginning new projects. Anyone else feel the same way?
Thanks so much for reading! xx – Elsie

Those giant pompoms really complete the look of the banner! Love it – and I love the quote too. 😀

I was just going to do the tree this weekend, and I can’t wait to check out your playlist. My kid and I sing along as we decorate. Our little tradition.
I enjoy the Jackson 5 Christmas album, especially Frosty the Snowman. Ooh, could turn pom poms into snowmen…brb
How do you hang the banner with your wallpaper? I would be afraid to use nails because of holes, and Command Strips for fear of peeling!
I seem to recall you having this phrase in your home last year when you first brought Nova home, and I thought it was so sweet. This banner is darling and the playlist is delightful! Thank you for the inspiration as I decorate my home for the holidays this weekend!
Oh, and as for holiday albums, have you listened to Emmylou Harris’s “Light in the Stable” ? She has many amazing folks performing with her, like Dolly Parton, Neil Young, Willie Nelson, and the Mcgarrigle sisters. It is beautiful.
I love this playlist and the banner!!! I am also so intrigued by the tree next to it- is that a single tree? Did I miss the info of it elsewhere on your blog? Thanks so much!
That’s so cute, especially with the pom poms!
